Part of the reason I went with my interior designer was that she said she knew the best people in Los Angeles. Valley Drapery and Upholstery were really the best! All my curtains and roman shades are stunning. There were some very difficult design constraints but thank god I went with a custom shop like VDU.

Loving our new motorized sheers, the installers are really professional and efficient installed these in about an hour!!

We are so happy we went with Valley Drapery for our window sheers. We shopped around a lot and got multiple quotes, so we know Valley Drapery offered us the best pricing. They were one of the many companies listed on the Somfy motors official website, since we knew we wanted Somfy motorized drapes. We got quotes from at least 6 other companies! All the companies had similar fabrics, so it seemed the others were just charging more for their labor/installation. Dean and his father own the company and I met both of them when I went to their factory. I felt confident that Dean's father really knew the products well since he advised me on the Somfy motors, how they would be installed with the wiring and wall switch details. It was nice that Dean would call his dad to confirm information when he wasn't sure, that gave me more confidence in their company. Dean initially came to our home to do the measurements, show me fabrics, and give me the quote. He was very responsive via multiple emails and texts with any questions I had. Dean worked with me to schedule the install date, and was flexible when I requested a last-minute change in date as well. His installers were very professional and efficient, they did the full install in less than 3 hours for 2 large front windows. They had to set-up their own scaffolding to reach our high windows, which other companies wanted to charge me extra for. The installers carefully moved all our furniture to the side and put protective mats to not ruin our floors. We are so happy we chose Valley Drapery over all the other Drapery companies we inquired with due to their professionalism, efficiency, knowledge, and especially their competitive pricing.

Do these people even know what they are doing? NO!

Willy Wonka, as he introduced himself, had the best customer service--he was polite, not pushy. And he was honest in answering our questions about price, delivery, and disposal of old furniture. When you see this store from the outside and even as you walk in, you'd think it cannot possibly compete with larger stores like Living Spaces or Ashley...BUT boy, are you in for a surprise! The furniture I purchased here had a label that is from Ashley Direct. And I'm pretty sure that Ashley Furniture would have charged me at least two times more than what I paid at Furniture Corner. They delivered on the same day, everything is new and unwrapped in front of you. The delivery crew in 2022 and 2026 were the same men. Really nice people. They were so kind and just overall, happy to help. Furniture Corner is a family-owned business that is ran by honest merchants. It is such a great asset to the Reseda / Northridge community. Wishing them many more years of successful business! Thank you for being a morally-upright business in this sometimes crazy world. I hope you continue to provide high-quality furniture at reasonable prices.

During the transaction, the salesperson informed us that on the morning of delivery, Living Spaces would contact us, provide a delivery time window, and offer us delivery time options. Instead, the day before delivery, we were notified of a fixed three-hour delivery window and told we would be charged a fee if we chose to reschedule. When I requested to cancel the order because the delivery arrangements differed from what we had been told at the time of purchase, I was informed that a cancellation fee would also apply. Ultimately, we changed our plans and accepted the delivery. However, this experience left us extremely disappointed. We feel that the information provided during the sales process was misleading, and the fees associated with rescheduling or canceling left us with little flexibility. Based on this experience, we do not anticipate making future furniture purchases from Living Spaces. This type of sales practice is unacceptable and does not reflect the level of customer service we expected.

Very disappointing delivery experience with Living Spaces. The furniture itself may be fine, but…read morethe delivery experience and the way the company handled the damage afterward were unacceptable. During my white-glove delivery, the delivery crew scraped and damaged my brand-new LVP flooring while moving the furniture. Living Spaces acknowledged that the damage occurred during their delivery. The scratches were not something that could simply be cleaned or buffed out--the affected planks needed to be replaced. I asked Living Spaces to reimburse me $300 for the repair, which was already a very reasonable resolution. In fact, I saved Living Spaces money because the flooring company that originally installed my floors had extra matching planks available. This allowed the damaged planks to be replaced without the additional expense of sourcing new flooring. Despite acknowledging the damage, Living Spaces ultimately refused to reimburse me because I did not obtain multiple repair estimates. This is especially frustrating because I had already found a practical and less expensive solution using the original installer and matching leftover planks. What makes this experience even more concerning is the delivery process. Living Spaces promotes a "white glove" delivery experience, but the delivery service is outsourced to a third party, which can then subcontract the actual delivery work. As a customer, you aren't necessarily aware of how many layers are involved until something goes wrong. If you are considering buying furniture from Living Spaces and having it delivered, buyer beware. Make sure you thoroughly document your floors and other property before delivery. Consider following the crew as they deliver. My experience was that once the damage occurred, Living Spaces did everything possible to avoid taking responsibility for a relatively small repair. For me, this experience permanently changed my opinion of the company. I will not be purchasing furniture from Living Spaces again.

You may not always find what you need, but you just might find something you didn't realize you wanted, at a fraction of the cost of splurging on new. Yes, some items are coming from hotels, such as what you find here in Van Nuys, but those also can be items built a little bit better that mass produced cardboard. Not always, but sometimes. I love Hotel Surplus Outlet as a place to peruse a few times a year, especially if I want an interesting piece of art, or a chair I won't find at....Hmmm, where DOES one go to find a chair these days, Wayfair??? Anywho, HSO is also a good place to pop into if you host gatherings more than a couple of times a year. They have quite a few items from hotel kitchens and room service, think chaffing trays, as well as dishes of varying styles and sizes, all usually in multiples. If you need to furnish an apartment or home on the cheap, maybe starting with dishes and utensils, this is a good option. Also, check them out for used weight room equipment, treadmills and stationary bikes. Some of my friend's best long-use bowls, I recently found out, came from HSO. I didn't even know she enjoyed coming here as well! If you work with electronics, there are many kinds here and I would think at least some could be used for spare parts for repair shops. Patio furniture? Lighting? Bedding? Artwork? Mirrors? Hey! Need a landline phone??? Come check out HSO. When you walk in you will see a few pieces to gradually introduce you and prepare you for what's to come. There's also a front desk if you were wanting to ask about something in particular. If you just want to leisurely walk through and get inspired, you are welcome and not trailed with a salesperson nagging at you. Some days I don't find anything but inspiration for what my house COULD look like if I cleaned it, but most of the time I just like seeing if there's anything I didn't know I needed. Last September I was looking for a MCM style bar cart. HSO had quite a few, but not exactly what I was looking for. Tip: If you do see an item, make sure there isn't more than one. They'll each have a slight flaw, but some aren't as obvious as others, which gives you options to choose what you like best. This is also a good source for used work desks and chairs, if you need something simple for a small space - think hotel room desk areas. Also, they do have some interesting headboards and living room consoles. Hotel Surplus Outlet is an interesting - and HUGE selection. Check them out next time you're in the need - or want - of something for your home or office. Cheers! "CC"
