Horrible customer service. I emailed an upholstery quote request and never received a reply after almost a week. I called to follow up three times. They confirmed they received my email and that they would have someone call me back (first a salesperson Dean, then the owner was suppose to reach out). Not one person returned my call. Till this day, my email has gone unanswered. I'm with the design trade so this blatant rudeness is even more shocking. Avoid this place. Part of the reason I went with my interior designer was that she said she knew the best people in Los Angeles. Valley Drapery and Upholstery were really the best! All my curtains and roman shades are stunning. There were some very difficult design constraints but thank god I went with a custom shop like VDU. read more

We are so happy we went with Valley Drapery for our window sheers. We shopped around a lot and got multiple quotes, so we know Valley Drapery offered us the best pricing. They were one of the many companies listed on the Somfy motors official website, since we knew we wanted Somfy motorized drapes. We got quotes from at least 6 other companies! All the companies had similar fabrics, so it seemed the others were just charging more for their labor/installation. Dean and his father own the company and I met both of them when I went to their factory. I felt confident that Dean's father really knew the products well since he advised me on the Somfy motors, how they would be installed with the wiring and wall switch details. It was nice that Dean would call his dad to confirm information when he wasn't sure, that gave me more confidence in their company. Dean initially came to our home to do the measurements, show me fabrics, and give me the quote. He was very responsive via multiple emails and texts with any questions I had. Dean worked with me to schedule the install date, and was flexible when I requested a last-minute change in date as well. His installers were very professional and efficient, they did the full install in less than 3 hours for 2 large front windows. They had to set-up their own scaffolding to reach our high windows, which other companies wanted to charge me extra for. The installers carefully moved all our furniture to the side and put protective mats to not ruin our floors. We are so happy we chose Valley Drapery over all the other Drapery companies we inquired with due to their professionalism, efficiency, knowledge, and especially their competitive pricing. read more

I was looking for a good upholsterer for my mid century chaise. I reached out via their website and got a response the next day. Nicholas helped me choose a beautiful persimmon linen, placed my order, paid online. 6 weeks before the estimated completion date, a very nice woman named Tammy reached out to schedule a pickup, and 6 weeks later it was delivered to my door. It's absolutely beautiful and everyone who comes over makes a comment. I was so impressed I worked with Nicholas to order some sheers and over drapes for 2 of my guest rooms. They are medium sized private business, so there were some quirks. I'd place them somewhere between an Amazon and a mom and pop shop. But I love supporting local and small places rather than the shade store, which btw was way more expensive than Valley Drapery. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. We need a large curtain rod replaced as the plastic clips holding up the drapes are broken. Terrible experience. I paid top dollar to have new sheers made for our living room window. Took over a month and a half and only happened after I contacted them to ask when my sheers were coming. Delivery date was set up - and they sent sheers for someone else's house. Apparently - then they then started to work on my sheers. A week later - my sheers were delivered - and (due to Covid-19) I asked the installer to wait outside for five minutes so I could hang one side to confirm the sheers were mine. As I was inside beginning to hang one side of the sheers - I watched the installer simply drive away. It had been about a minute and a half. And the hooks on the sheers had been installed on the wrong side and at the wrong height. And they had taken one section of my old sheers to make sure they got the new ones just right! They weren't right at all. I called Valley Drapery to complain - and the person I spoke to said the installer had an "important job" to get to and had to depart. I stated that I am a paying customer - my job is important, too. Totally unhelpful and rude. I had to bring the sheers to a local dry cleaner to correct the issue. I pick up my corrected sheers this afternoon - so, at this point - I have no idea if the sheers even fit my window. Except for one employee - Enrique (who did as best he could working with a bunch of incompetent people who don't care about their work in any way) - I would NEVER recommend Valley Drapery to anyone. My experience is that they do not care about their work or customers - at all! Terrible experience. There are many other, FAR BETTER options. read more

I revised my original post after they came out and fixed one of the major problems. The gal, whose name I've deleted, has called me several times asking me to"take it off" as obviously she doesn't know how Yelp works. I've done the honorable thing here and still would not recommend this business to any friends or family. They are not structured to do custom retail work and ultimately, we're not happy with 2 out of 4 drapes that they made and don't even get me started on the 2 shades, horrific! I will take them down as soon as the replacements show up. All in all, just not worth the money. read more

I've used Valley Drapery for a few homes I manage, and overall, I've always been happy with the service. We have automated roller shades in our homes and they installed all of them. Quick and professional. My only issue is that the system that is installed seems to run out of batteries VERY quickly; which is annoying because then the shades are stuck down. BUT- when this does happen they're typically able to send someone one same day to replace them. Just wish it wouldn't have to be so often. read more

Jana measures on site for window coverings and is lovely and always accommodating with scheduling and she is also very knowledgeable. The workroom is of the highest quality and if for any reason something is not exact............they immediately correct the situation for no charge. I find their prices extremely fair for the exceptionally high quality and amazing service. Once they were installed, it was not surprising that some adjustments would have to be made and they were prompt at doing so and very pleasant. Angel in particular, really knows his stuff. My interior decorator suggested using them and that was the beginning of a lot of problems. They made a number of shades for us and we had problems with most of them within weeks of their going in. Their after sales service is the worst and the darn things continued to cause problems until we finally had to use a new company to replace the work that they did.
