Before moving to Fresno, I worked for a semiconductor manufacturer in the 'Silicon Valley'. One day last week, my Windows 10 desktop computer decided not to boot to the desktop. I performed some Windows updates the day prior, and coincidentally, the computer would not boot to a state where I could try to return to a restoration point. So, it was time to try and find someone with the tech 'savvy' to restore/repair it. After a quick search on the web, I identified Valley Support, as my choice, based on their customer ratings, and the content of said ratings. I called and talked to Carlos, who is a 'one man show'. He listened to what I had to say about my issue, and suggested that I bring my computer in for a quick diagnosis. I took it in that same day, and had the pleasure of meeting, and speaking with, Carlos. He is very knowledgeable, and has a great understanding of the inner workings of computers and software. I left the computer with Carlos so that he could take a deeper look. I received an update from him later that same afternoon with the problem diagnosis. He, also, called to follow-up and suggested/recommended a data back-up, SSD drive to replace my corrupted hard drive, and a suite of beneficial software programs that would not only protect my computer, but also make it more efficient moving forward. Windows 10 would be re-installed as well. The cost of the repair, and software addition/installation, was extremely reasonable, and made a great deal of sense. I opted to go with his suggestion/recommendation. The work was completed in a couple of days, and exceeded my expectations. All the while he made sure that the impact on me was minimal. Customer service as it should be. Although the majority of my data was recovered, specific programs still had to be re-installed. Nothing out of the ordinary for a repair of this nature. I completed the program re-installation in a couple of days, and now have my fully functioning Windows 10 computer back. I had to call after the fact, and have him help me with a re-installation issue I encountered with my scanner. Again, he was very willing to help me with the issue, and resolved the issue over the phone. I can't begin to say enough about Carlos and his customer service, communication, and extremely high level of computer related knowledge. Earlier this year, I encountered a very serious problem with my 2T external hard drive. While on a trip, I had uploaded my daily photo shoots onto my 10" notebook I use for travel. Upon returning home I then transfer theses files into my 2T external hard drive. When I got ready to edit these photos from this last trip on my home computer, I brought up these files from the 2T external hard drive (HD). These files originally came up on the home computer laptop screen, but then right before my very eyes, these files started disappearing off the computer screen!! I tried to bring these files up again from the 2T external HD, but these files from my last trip were all gone!! I did a total search on the 2T HD, but these files could not be found. I found Carlos Diaz Yelp for laptops and data recovery. I spoke with him over the phone about all my issues. He explained what might had occurred, and also that my 2T HD might have gotten corrupted. He said he would look at my 2T HD, and also my notebook and my home computer laptop, and advised me of the possible outcomes including no data recovery. He also advised to remove any viruses and malware in laptop and notebook. Carlos also recommended to purchase a new external hard drive to backup all files from the corrupted HD and files in both computers before he begins troubleshooting. Carlos quoted a flat fee for the data recovery (and the possibility of no data recoverable) and another flat fee for virus and malware removal. Summary: Carlos performed all the above functions he had recommended: backed up all files from corrupt HD and files from both my computers into the new Hard Drive; ran programs onto the corrupt HD to attempt data recovery; performed virus removal and tuned up both computers. In addition, Carlos installed several very useful programs for my computers at no additional cost. Carlos was very efficient and very professional. All the above work was performed within a week's time. Carlos was great to work with; very professional, very efficient, and his price is very reasonable. I wish I could give Carlos TEN stars, as he certainly deserves them!!! I chose him because of his YELP reviews to begin with, so it's only fitting that I should add to them. My computer had crashed and despite what little I knew to try, it was evident this wasn't going to be an easy fix. I was running CS6 on High Sierra, and regardless of what lots of blogs may tell you, we were getting along just fine, until...my hard drive crashed. Carlos installed a new SSD, and then was able to recover most, if not all of my documents. However, without a backup, you don't get back your Apps like Creative Suite, Microsoft Office...ones I had paid for outright, which are now both Subscription only!!! I did still have the product keys, but once I got home and tried to reinstall those, nothing! I called Adobe and the first person I talked to basically told me I was out of luck ( maybe he was on commission for selling subscriptions???). Carlos said no, just bring it back and we'll get this done. I had bought CS5.5 initially, then upgraded to 6. He was able to get 5.5 installed, as well as the latest version of Office (pre-subscription!). I got it home, got a sweet girl with a very different attitude at Adobe...like sure, no big deal, and CS6 is back up and running. Carlos put in several extra hours and didn't charge me extra. And he just text'd to see if everything was working properly! Not a lot of businesses follow up like that anymore!!! It's my pleasure to share how very pleasant my experience with Carlos at Valley Support has been. My four-year-old Lenovo laptop stopped working, so I spent hours reading reviews, before choosing Valley Support. It's a one-man operation in one room. The room is clean, quiet and peaceful and the man is wonderful - intelligent, animated and knowledgeable. Carlos has a gift for being able to explain things to people like myself, people who've been using computers for years, but don't really know how they work. My computer's ills were such he felt I should put the repair money into a new computer. Our older PC running XP (we have a couple of old bookkeeping programs that are not compatible with 7 running on our newer computer) kept cycling through start-ups. It would sometimes appear to run but the display was out of register or would go to a pattern, then crash. We called Carlos at Valley Support and, after a few questions, suggested a few culprits. We took the desktop in and he ran a few tests which seemed to verify his speculation. We left it in his care and by the next day he told us that in was what he suspected. Carlos also mentioned that we had a fair amount of malware and viruses that had gotten past Norton anti-virus we have installed. He said he could remove the viruses, clean things up and do some research to find some good anti-virus software that would be compatible with our older system. My call to Valley Support came when the hard drive in my wife's laptop started to die, and I had no where else to turn. This was the best call I could have made. Carlos walked me through a few quick diagnostic steps and confirmed my suspicion. He came the next day to pick up the laptop and had it back to me ready to go within 3 days. I did call one other shop and they had told me they could take a look at it in about a week to see what it needed. Then, about 6 weeks later the camera on the laptop stopped working. I had a brand new PC laptop I had bought about a year ago. Okay so I went in a few days ago and I am not disappointed! Carlos was very helpful and very professional! And his dog is awesome! Brought in my laptop because my screen was cracked but everything else was still functioning. Turns out I had a virus on my computer as well that I had NO IDEA about. He removed that for me and installed cool programs as well. He has very fair pricing. If I would've taken it somewhere else they would've over charged me. All together it was 170. The screen was 80 and for him to fix it was 50. To have the virus removed it was another 40 dollars but it was money well spent! I called Valley Support because I had a laptop that had water damage. I was able to take in the laptop the same day and was given a free diagnosis. Two days later, I received a video update with possible parts that may have to be replaced and suggestions on how to proceed. He ordered the 1st part and installed it, turns out that part wasn't the issue. He assured me that this part could be returned and I would only be charged for the part that was needed. He proceeded to purchase another part and was able to return the 1st part without any extra charge. Carlos even included the installation of virus protection software, in total my laptop was fixed and secured for $375. I built my computer myself about 3 years ago and finally had the idea to upgrade it just a bit -- a simple RAM upgrade from 16gb to 32gb. Get it all in and -- nothing. No signal sent to the monitor. Took it here and the service was prompt and communicative, the owner Carlos even gave me some tips and returned to me my working computer, though still unfinished. Fast forward a week later when my other two 8gb sticks came in, I followed his advice and-! Nothing still. Yet again. Turns out I didn't push them in all the way, and after some laughs shared he said no charge though I slipped him a $20. I had 2 computers that were in need of repair; my old laptop was completely disassembled and non-functional, and he offered several options on how to proceed with the repair and well as data recovery if necessary. He was also honest about warranty information for my newer computer, and he gave me good advice about what to do next. I could not reccomend any repair store more highly. Just as a recent Chromebook/Samsung hack had me feeling like DiCaprio in Shutter Island or someone in the laziest written episode of Black Mirror ever- Carlos confirmed that both of my devices had indeed been hacked with malware and possibly even screen hacking apps (several chrome extensions were found). Although he doesn't typically work on phones, Carlos was still able to wipe my Samsung clean of persistent malware while preserving all of my data for (a more than fair) $50. You get what you pay for. I brought my laptop to Carlos to remove malware and spyware. He did remove the malware and spyware along with my entire microsoft suite. When I called him to ask what happen he told me that I should have told him that I had software on my computer that I wanted to keep. Excuse me Carlos who would not want to keep Microsoft Office? If you have the money take your computer to a real professional and don't try to cut corners to get a good deal. I learned the hard way. Had a problem with my surface pro 3, got it fixed by Carlos, he was quick to fix it....... about a week later the sound went out, went back to have him fix it but after seeing how I was going to be charged full normal price I decided not to go with him to fix it..... I looked at this as a problem on the OS he put on my surface and should of communicated better before coming in because I didn't think I would be charged full price for him to fix it, maybe I'm the crazy one here.
