It was the first time our furbabies registered for the event, and first time they ever experienced swimming in a pool!! Fiji and Makana had a pawtastic time!!! It was so fun to watch them frolick unleashed under the sun!! We paid $11 per dog to spend time in the water from 11:30am to 1:00pm for their weight class (40lbs+). We just had to make sure proof of vaccination was good to go. I thought we'd be in and out of the pool within 30 mins, but we ended up staying the entire time. We brought a jug of water, a dog bowl, lawn chairs, and our tennis ball thrower. Once we walked in, there was a table full of bandanas and tennis balls that were complimentary for all puppers! Plenty of lifeguards on duty, too! By 12:30pm, there were at least four pet vendors highlighting their businesses. I ended up with some frozen yogurt cups and apoopie bags for free! Keep an eye out on the City of Henderson Calendar of Events. We would definitely sign up again in a heartbeat!

The basketball courts in particular are very spacious, and in good condition. I love that they have two sets of water fountains and restrooms available for easy access. They keep it very very very cold in that gym though! So if you're not running around playing to keep yourself warm, and you're a spectator like myself... bring a sweater!

For that age a parent must be in the class with the child. Mr David was so great when he noticed my son was ready for the next class. He helped him transition. My son had a hard time in the 3 year old class at first because parents aren't allowed. But Mr David helped us both understand how to help him join in the class. My son loves the class now, he'll be 4 in a couple months and we plan to continue with Tumbling all year long. Thank you. Also the swimming classes have been great.

This is…read morea City of Henderson Recreational Center tucked in the Green Valley community between the Pittman Wash Trail and Silver Springs Park. The amenities that it provides include outdoor swimming pools, tennis, events & activities, a dancing room, and more. It also provides the needs of my recreation, which is hiking. The Silver Springs Recreational Center grounds is connected to the Pittman Wash Trail. It is at my favorite location along the Trail where a picturesque landscape of mature trees provide a canopy of shade throughout the year. At this scenic spot, the Silver Springs Recreational Center grounds extend across Pittman Wash to the amphitheater and Pittman Wash Overlook. Here, hikers are able to ascend down a trail onto hiking trails that follow the meandering wash. Oftentimes on my Pittman Wash Trail, I have turned onto the short walking path between the swimming pools and tennis courts then crossed Silver Springs Parkway into Silver Springs Park across the street. In reality I have been here more than six times. Walking through Silver Springs Park, which I would count as a recreation center amenity has extended my time in the Henderson Great Outdoors. From my visits to the Silver Springs Recreational Center, I discovered that the restrooms are the cleanest restrooms along the Pittman Wash Trail. I am impressed by the high standards of cleanliness in the restroom and throughout the facility. If only Yelp Tips was still around I would of posted this. Recently, after hiking along the Pittman Wash, I found out that they have vending machines. This was very beneficial when I developed a deep thirst on the hike. The $3 bottle of Coke was a lifesaver. The reality is that there is a long distance from the beginning of the Pittman Wash Trail in Arroyo Grande Park to Pecos Road without proximity to cold beverages. Again, I will say "If only Yelp Tips was still around." Before voting on this review, let me bring up "voting." I have early voted here twice during the past two President Elections. My observation is that the Election aspect was managed well, where finding a parking spot could be a challenge. The parking lot here is relatively small to accommodate Election voting and events. I have seen it fill up to the point where people park across the street in the Silver Springs Park parking lot. On the aspect of voting, I will close off this review by casting a vote of Four Stars for the Silver Springs Recreational Center.

The fields were pristine and the location was easier to get to and had a lot of businesses in the area to visit Just down the block. You have Starbucks, Albertson's and a lot of other businesses that you can shop while you play at the park however in this case, we had a baseball tournament take place there and it was the coolest little park to play in. If you are going to go there, it's recommended you bring canopies and something to shade yourself! Don't forget to hydrate definitely use this park to have fun. Bring your dogs and enjoy the area.

The splash pad here is one of the largest splash pad at Henderson parks. It is spread out to give kids plenty of space to splash and play. It has a variety of features too. The splash pad is conveniently located next to a set of bathrooms and changing stalls. One of my favorite things about this park is all the green grass out in open spaces. I love having all the open space to let my toddler safely run. A lot of people bring blankets and hang out or have a picnic. The playground is good for about three years and up. A lot of the climbing features would be too big for really little ones. There are also two big slides in the side of a hill. There aren't any swings at this playground. There is a large covered pavilion area in between the playground and splash pad. It's large enough to be rented out for two different parties. We attended a toddler birthday party here and it was a nice space for that. The city should put up signs that the pavilions are paid rentals though. My friend arrived to find a party happening in the area she rented. The other party didn't know rentals were to be arranged through the city. She felt bad and gave up some of her rental space because she didn't want to ruin a kid's birthday party. Another cool thing about Mission Hills is the shaved ice truck that has a permanent spot when it's hot out. How perfect to be able to grab shaved ice when playing in the heat.

At first, I thought "isn't that just for sports or whatever is associated with the park?" But I was SO wrong. There's so much available to the community here: office rooms, conference rooms, event rooms with kitchen, and much much more... including the sports stuff like a basketball court, volleyball, and a track. The gym is very up to date and spacious. There is a separate fitness room where classes are held. The facility also has a full size basketball court and two racquetball courts. You can rent equipment for free from the front desk. On the other side of the facility is a large pool table room and several craft and meeting rooms. The facility does have a large pool, lap pool, and hot tubs. Lifeguards are on duty. You cannot bring alcohol in.
