I had left instructions of how much to feed her, vet name and number, emergency vet number, etc. , etc. And this is after Devin came into my apartment and I had gone over everything with her! Devin texted me, took pictures and gave me a detailed description of how Mia was doing when I was gone. She cleaned her kitty litter, tried to play with her and even gave her treats! Mia hid from her but by the second day she actually came out of her hiding place. When Devin texted me that, it made me so happy! I did not worry at all about how Mia was doing by being alone because I knew that she was in good hands. I really enjoyed myself without having to be stressed out! It was so wonderful. Our Australian Shepherd (3 years old at the time) had severe anxiety which resulted in aggressive behavior with strangers and other dogs. Despite working with other trainers, her behavior only got worse- she ended up biting a dog walker we had hired and would behave so wildly/aggressively in public that we got to the point of saving her walks until night-time when no other people or dogs were around. It was embarrassing and we had no idea what to do. We found Lena online and immediately after talking to her on the phone, I knew she was the real deal. After ONE session with Lena, Roxie no longer pulled on the leash (she had always been very bad at pulling) and we already saw an improvement in her social behavior. We had a total of 5 sessions with Lena, the last one being in March of this year before moving to Florida. With each session, Roxie made huge improvements and we were also taught how to effectively reinforce her training between sessions and communicate with her. Roxie is like a brand new dog now. We moved to downtown Miami, so there are people/dogs everywhere, as well as busses, cars, etc and she shows no anxiety or aggression at all. We also adopted another dog in June and he and Roxie are the best of friends. Before, Roxie could not be around other dogs at all. And now, she has a brother who she totally loves! My husband and I have used Mother Hen for about 5 months now for both trips and extra help during the week when our work schedules get crazy. We could not be happier. Most recently, Mother Hen took care of our pups for two weeks while we traveled abroad. I was super nervous about leaving my dogs for two weeks, but Diane was great. She provided lots of email and text updates to calm my nerves, and the pups were their happy-go-lucky selves when we arrived home. She also came over to our house prior to the trip so I could properly meet her and see how comfortable my dogs were with her, which was much appreciated! Dachshund's are goofy and can be very standoffish to strangers... I originally planned on taking the pups to a kennel for our big trip, but after touring a couple places (told you I am picky), I just couldn't get comfortable with the idea of leaving my dogs in a kennel, away from their normal environment. They are used to their routine at home and enjoy lounging in the sun or on the couch all day...and by hiring Mother Hen, they got to do that for two weeks during their "stay-cation" as we called it! :) We will continue to use Mother Hen for all of our traveling/crazy schedule needs. They are truly a great find if you are as overprotective about your pets as I am. :)
