Superb customer service. Dr Schoolmeester is the beds abs my fur baby MyLo just loves him and his nurses

Does this look like a viscous dog? Blind in one eye and still the sweetest dog I have ever come across.

Dr Wheelock spent our first visit educating us on puppies, behavior tips and great overall advice. It was so nice to have him take the time to refresh us on what to do, look for and how to raise a great dog. It was like going to the pediatrician and we were very appreciative of it. The staff was amazing as always and make each visit easy and enjoyable. When we had to schedule a visit to address an issue with his heart last minute Dr. Ruch was thorough, reassuring and explained all scenarios and protocols. We are so happy with the practice and would highly recommend them!

We now have an orange male tabby. Dr. Matthew Wheelock is amazing. He is easygoing, great with the pets and his advice and recommendations are always welcomed. His office also calls several days after an appointment to check in and make sure our cat is doing well. Even though we lived in Uptown when we first started coming, we continued come even after we moved about 35-40 minutes away. The new facilities are superb and the staff is always engaged and helpful. It's a great environment for both pets and people. This is the only veterinary practice we recommend to others.

One particular day my dog Whiskey had a hot spot and they went above and beyond in their accommodation of us. They got us in same day and made sure that he had everything he needed, they even followed up to ensure he was doing ok after the fact! I can't recommend them enough and would highly recommend Uptown Vet to anyone in the area!

I arrived 13…read moreminutes after my appointment and was told to Leave and come back in an hour and a half even though the practice was empty. I imploded the front desk receptionists to have some compassion as I didn't want to put my dog through the cruelty of having to wait an additional hour and a half of anxiety, but I was told in no uncertain terms they were 'busy' and If you're more then ten minutes late they need to get money from the next customer. I was saddened and shocked by the lack of compassion. I left feeling very frustrated, feeling as though my pet had been mistreated, as had I. They couldn't take care of a visibly traumatized animal because we arrived 3 minutes after their ten minute cut off time. Mind you we have been clients the entire 5 year life of my dog. I called the receptionist hours later to ask for Dr. Jen Larson's email address (the owner) so that I could express my dissatisfaction at the way I and my dog were treated. The receptionist (Mikayla) told me she never hear of a 'Dr: Jen Larson'. I found that strange as it's small practice. I feel I was lied to. Later that night, I was surprised that Dr. Jen Larson thought it appropriate to call me at my home and lecture me on why her receptionists are the best and their policy is ten minutes and her practice did nothing wrong. Honestly I have never been looking for a discount or money back. All I wanted as an apology for mistreating my pet. Instead I was insulted in a very u professional way and quite frankly felt threatened by her tone. I'll be filing a complaint with the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Board. If this is how a 5 year client is treated understand what you are in for. They care about money more than a distressed animal and the only apology you will get is nothing.

Everyone we interacted with, including the doctor and the receptionist, was professional and welcoming. What really stood out to me was their fear-free approach for my kitty. They're AAHA accredited, let Goose set the pace, and never took him out of the room, which made such a difference in keeping him calm and comfortable. I'm a veterinary technician myself, and it meant a lot to be able to sit down and have a genuine conversation with the doctor without feeling rushed. They listened openly, made thoughtful recommendations, and were truly engaged with both me and Goose throughout the appointment. This is exactly what we were looking for in a vet, and we truly couldn't be happier with the experience. Highly recommend!

I've been a patient at Queen City Animal Hospital for over five years, and I really wanted to give…read morea fair picture of both what's worked and what hasn't, because my experience has changed a lot over time. When we first started coming here, it was fantastic. The staff were attentive, and both my pets and I always felt comfortable walking through the door. Unfortunately, over the past year or so, things have really gone downhill -- it seems to line up with when the practice switched to a new system. The front desk/admin team specifically has become a consistent problem. They rarely seem to know what's going on, and I've been asked basic questions (like whether my pets are on any medication) that should be right there in the chart before we even start talking. On more than one occasion, staff have mis-gendered my pet -- which is a pretty simple thing to double check. Beyond that, I've had to follow up multiple times just to get test results or other updates that should have been communicated proactively. I've also been billed for services that were never actually performed. Wait times have gotten progressively longer with each visit, and the cleanliness of the facility has noticeably declined. More than once, it seems like the team simply forgot I was there -- either waiting for discharge or waiting to be checked out of an exam room. To be clear, the veterinarians themselves are wonderful. They remember my pets, clearly care about their wellbeing, and I have no complaints about the actual medical care. But the surrounding administrative and operational issues have made it hard to trust the practice as a whole, and I don't feel confident continuing to bring my pets here. I'll be looking for a new vet, which is disappointing given how good things used to be.
