The food is always good there. I recommend the ravioli anytime. The sauce is amazing Sausage.

G's Street Food located here is fabulous. You can buy wine from almost zero dollars to $400 for some Opus One with some age on it. I asked for some Champagne and the guy was getting it down for me and suggested some chilled from the cooler. Here's the deal. This is old Napa. We discovered Val's Liquor from Yelp. I can say that Val's has all the liquor in all of Napa Valley. We were coming from Calistoga and with all the wine available we had a craving for Crown Royal whiskey and the search brought us to Val's Liquor. The service was quick and the selection was big. I wasn't buying anything and he demanded to ID us both Im 28 and had my DMV replacement ID, again not buying anything, and he still wanted to ID me and when I explained I wasn't buying anything he started yelling at us unprovoked. I told him it was the wrong ticket and he said too bad I can't do anything about it. This happened later to my friend, same thing. I dislike dishonest people. This just isn't coincidental. I'm not particularly a fan of Val's Liquor especially after buying two corked bottles of wine. I think the wine stands under hot lights and is not rotated. I would not come to Val's except the back door Italian restaurant is located there. I purchased wine in the $15-22. range. This is not the cheap category but not the highest price either. I wanted to buy a pleasing bottle of wine for my guest to enjoy with the Italian food. I was shocked when both bottles were spoiled. I would imagine Val is fine to buy spirits as people rotate through with bags of spirits on my visits. DO NOT buy wine here, you may go home with BAD bottles. read more

I'll never claim to be a connoisseur of liquor stores. I'm not a big drinker anymore so I've lost touch with what makes a liquor store excellent! However, over the last year or two I've fallen in love with the Shrub. A delicious sweet & tart combination of fruit, sugar & apple cider vinegar. And it makes the best mixer for vodka cocktails! The selection of vodka is really complete...from inexpensive to organic to handmade. There is a choice for everyone. My current favorite is Tito's and the price seems fair. The staff is typically friendly and there is rarely a line when I'm there. It is an easy walk to my home near downtown Napa. It is the only downtown liquor store that I know of. The only thing I would change is a larger selection of sparkling water. I love a splash in my Shrub cocktail but I'm not a big fan of tonic water. The parking lot is very small so I suggest walking if you live close by. It is wonderful to have a liquor store for us downtown residents! *The restaurant that is located in the back of the store offers traditional Italian food and is NOT vegan. I asked! read more

Not sure I understand why the young man who rang me up told me my total was $1 then rang me up for $1.45. It would be nice if he told me before ringing my card and would be nice if he wasn't rude with me when I asked if there's a fee. He told me charging my card for $1 is useless/worthless with a rude attitude. I won't ever be back in for anything else due to the crappy attitude and knowing any denomination of money spent there is worthless. read more

These examples might be hard to find whiskeys and you expect to pay a premium but these prices are insane. (For example, I typically pay about $90 for Yamazaki all over Oregon, rock hill farms $60, Elmer $40...) I will never shop this store again. read more

I was just there to pick up Raviolis from Clement's Italian Food (they are great!) unfortunately, you have to pay for your food at the front counter of Val's Liquors. They just charged me for 5 lottery tickets I didn't ask for! Thankfully, with the help of Tina of Clemente's, I was able to get my $32.00 back. I had a very good experience here. The guy behind the counter was extremely helpful and while I was ordering my food at Clemente's which is inside the Liquor Store, I noticed that they have an amazing Bourbon and Scotch selection. Very competitively priced also. So I bought a bottle of Bourbon. A brand which you can hardly find on the East Coast. He told me that if there was anything special I wanted they would be glad to order it for me especially and stock it. That is some great customer service right there! read more

Went in to the store one afternoon and had a problem with the young man behind the counter. I asked for a refund and he went to another person in the store who came up to me and said I could not have a refund because my food was ready. I told them that my food was not ready and all I wanted was a refund. The 2nd person who came to help the young behind the counter looked at me and called me a "dick". I said I wanted to speak to the owner. He told me that he was the owner. I then said that he should not talk to me in that manner. He then told me" you are a little man with a big ego". I said just give me my refund and I will never come back. The owner then started screaming at me calling me several names in front of several customers. He then told me that I was thrown out of the store and that he would gladly pay the deli $14.00 per week so that the "asshole", Me, would never come back again.
