If I could give this place a 0 star review I would. I have been coming here to shop since I was a young lad since I grew up in napa and it was so close to me I would always go whether it was for a bag of chips as a child or a bottle of tequila as a grown man. I have been shopping here for 15+ years I believe maybe even more or less I'm not sure how long they have been open but this was always my go to. Everyday after work for years I would stop by here on my lunch break or after work to buy their stuff since they had a lot of good choices. The owner Paul knew me and he would always say hi to me and so did the Hispanic lady but she was kinda rude and always staring at me in an uncomfortable way but the main one that hurt was the young man who would always ring me up Everytime I would come through to J mart to buy alcohol and cigarettes after a long heavy shift. This young cashier I don't know his name but he's always there would always be so nice to me and even called me his "bruddddaaaahhhh" (brother ) Everytime I went to purchase something . A few months ago I went in and was looking for a cheap drink so I looked at the little shot bottles the 99 proof ones I believe which are only likee 1 dollar and 80 cents maybe a little more. When I didn't find my debit card in my wallet and realized I could not purchase what I wanted about 4 dollars worth of alcohol I went back in the aisle and put the little shot bottles back. But I was getting starred at In a disrespectful way as of they thought I was going to steal . I would never be stupid enough to steal from that store in my freaking life are you kidding me ?!?! If they catch you stealing they take your picture from the surveillance footage and print it out and post it in the front therefore i would never be stupid enough to steal from there I wouldn't steal im general wtf. So I left that day when I couldn't find my debit card. I go back a few weeks later when I have cash and try to buy a mini shot bottle and a pack of cigarettes, however when I go to pay the young man who works there and calls me his "brudddaaa" (brother) every time I would go in looks at me and says " I can't sell to you because you stole my boss saw you ". I was straight up flabbergasted and felt so disrespected, even after I swore I didn't steal because I'm not about that or would be stupid enough to do that he still was convinced I was a thief, wtf!? And then when I told the cashier who didn't wanna sell to me " can I please see the security footage where it shows me stealing " his response was "why should I show you" I was livid and I mean livid after the thousands of dollars I speant on my vices and groceries at Jefferson market you are going to call me a theif when you have no proof and refuse to sell to me!? That Is so messed up, therefore be careful when shopping there because if you look suspicious or for whatever reason and they aren't feeling you they will be quick to misjudge you and make you feel like a piece of crap, that's why I say F U Jefferson market, Paul maybe if you'll are really worried about people stealing you should buy a sensor and alarm for the door that goes off Everytime an unpaid item or product from your store walks out that door, don't be a cheap owner and embarrass innocent costumers, lol so I guess my new go to liquor store is going to be Lawler's lol that's okay I'm good with that plus they have good food I hear and I have yet to try it screw you Jefferson market sorry not sorry, read more

i needed medicine...they had it the sign said the charge you to use your credit card...so i went back to my car to get cash...yup...not paying to use my credit card. i grabbed some gatorade too... it was conveniently located near where i was staying... no complaints read more

Jefferson Market is more like Jefferson Alcohol Market. There's more alcohol than food... or anything else. Its logo resembles a Don Ed Hardy tattoo. I was relieved to find some necessities like shampoo/conditioner, milk, and hot cocoa. There's alcohol everywhere... and has more reasonable prices than BevMo. Besides, you're supporting a local store. The parking is odd. One can park by a staffing place/apartment complex or in an office park with a chiropractor, insurance&financial services, and a nondescript Planned Parenthood office. They don't have shopping baskets, and a couple of filthy shopping carts. It's shockingly clean. It's in a residential area, and practically the only food store (albeit without much food) since the downtown Safeway closed due to the 2014 quake. read more

This is the best place in Napa to buy craft beer, with Whole Foods as the only possible exception. It's also a nice fully-stocked convenience store with good hours of operation (early and late). They have a decent spirit selection, though not as good (or nicely-priced) as at Lawler's down the street. Still, if you want to buy a 6-pack of fresh IPA, this is probably your best shot, and if you want a 40 of malt liquor, a bottle of high end tequila, and one of those tacky "Cali" hats, this is also probably your best shot within a mile of downtown. read more

I thought this was just a liquor store, but they have other things too! Left here more than upset. They added $,50 to my purchase for using a credit card.. $12.00 marked up to 12.50. .....probably illegal and certainly ridiculous. I will report them to the authorities and never go back. No signs no notice...just ripping off customers. Plenty of other choices...use those. I just researched, this surcharge practice is ILLEGAL in California. VISA and all credit card companies should cease doing business with them. Shameful...will be reporting them to VISA and the Better Business Bureau and local authorities. read more

Great local store just down the street from my aunt and uncles house, good selection of a bit of everything.

Beware buying beer from this store. Some of it is too old and stale...and you'll never get a refund or exchange. Too bad too because it's close to where I live. I won't be buying beer here anymore. read more
