The team at Val's services provide great service. Booking is simple--you talk to a real person each time and are quickly take care of, very customer oriented and polite in every interaction I've had. You get reminders the week of your service and can always reach out if something needs to be adjusted. We've been a customer for the last 6 months. I only meant to get things cleaned around the holidays but they did such a good job that it's a wonderful monthly treat. Each time we've had a cleaning we've been happy, in particular we appreciate Ana M.'s service and detail orientation. We request to work with Ana for our regular monthly cleaning but any member of the team provides a great service. The staff is equipped with their own supplies making it really hands off for the customer. I do like to declutter counter tops and tables to ensure she can get to surfaces, but she'll also neatly arrange stuff if a few stray items happen to be on a counter top. One of my favorite surprises is how she leaves towels, toilet paper, and paper towels in little flowers and bows. Each member of the team does this in different ways. I truly wanted to love this company. As a Latina family-owned local business, they represent everything I strive to support--and with their many positive reviews, I had high hopes. I booked a super deep clean in preparation for the arrival of our second baby, just days away. Communication was smooth, and the booking process was easy. I spoke with a representative beforehand to outline our needs, and when the technician arrived, we went over everything again in person. She was kind and professional. However, after the 4-hour cleaning session, I was disappointed to find several areas left untouched. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to inspect the home before the technician left. Our hardwood floors throughout the house were not mopped, the sofa wasn't vacuumed under the cushions, the kitchen island still had breakfast crumbs, and the outside of the refrigerator was untouched. The bathroom sink, the area around and behind the toilet, the vents, and one ceiling fan were also not cleaned. My husband and I ended up having to clean these areas ourselves. I reached out to the company and provided photo evidence. They offered a re-clean, but I wasn't comfortable having them return. Instead, I asked for an itemized breakdown of the deep clean charges and a refund for the services that weren't completed. I felt that was a fair request, as some parts of the cleaning had been done. Unfortunately, I was told they have a strict no-refund policy. This was especially disappointing, given the $414 cost plus the generous cash tip I provided. When I declined the re-clean, they offered two complimentary deep cleans for future use, but I declined--I do not wish to have them return. It pains me to write this, as I was genuinely excited to support this business. But based on my experience, I cannot recommend them to others. This has been such a stressful experience. I am extremely pregnant with a scheduled delivery in 4 days. I booked this appointment, spent good hard earned money in order to help and all it did was cause stress to me and I'm sure my baby too. This is my second time working with Val's. The first time was just okay. They did not pay attention to details like some of other reviewers mentioned. I still had to clean some things after I scheduled a Super Deep cleaning. This time I booked a service after the Black Friday sales Two days before they were scheduled to come clean, a lady called me saying "Our technician feels she needs to take a day off so she won't be able to clean your apartment anymore" so they pushed my appointment to another day. First off...What an UNPROFESSIONAL thing to say to a customer?! For the time they pushed my appointment to I realized I wouldn't be home to let her in so I called the next day and asked if they can come one hour later than the rescheduled time (literally 3pm instead of 2pm) and I kid you not the girl said "we don't want our technicians to be tired". So they wouldn't reschedule. YOURE THE REASON it was rescheduled in the first place! How could you not be accommodating for ONE hour when I accommodated and allowed your unprofessional excuse. It was easy to communicate before the service and they encouraged you to tell them what things specifically you wanted to make sure they got done. UPDATE: Not only was my apartment barely cleaned, but I was overcharged for the service. I was told I would pay $314, and was charged $420. Even though I sent my dispute to my bank for the $106 WITH TEXT MESSAGE PROOF FROM THE COMPANY THAT MY TOTAL IS $314, I lost the dispute because of false "proof" that the merchant provided stating that they did give me a bill for the final costs WHICH they did not. Honestly my fault because I should have asked for a hard copy of the bill. Never again. Also I realized not too long after that she didn't mop any of my floors at all lol. Didn't dust ANYTHING. Like I don't even know what the technician was doing for the couple hours she was here besides cleaning MOST of the kitchen because it's ridiculous. Super false advertising and to overcharge me after how my apartment looked is crazy. Don't call it a super deep clean if you're barely going to clean at all. And now that I'm looking at all the bad reviews I should've thought to look before I even scheduled a cleaning! And before they reply saying they offered to come back and clean again, I don't have time to sit here and watch over the technician for hours because clearly that's what I would have to do. REFUND MY $106 because you did NOT provide a super deep clean!!!! Previous review: The technician did a good job on my kitchen for the most part. I noticed she didn't wipe down all of the counters. My bathroom was ok until I saw the shower, there was mildew and product buildup in the shower still which the technician just left there instead of cleaning it. The "super deep clean" is a scam. Before scheduling the service, I called to ask if the super deep clean was just the standard clean with the addition of the fridge and oven cleaning. I was told no -- that I should expect better cleaning of everything. I went with this option, despite not needing my fridge cleaned out, because I wanted the deep cleaning of my floors, etc. In fact, I got an okay standard cleaning of the sort that I've paid less than half the price for, with the addition of the oven and fridge cleaning. There was still visible dust and hair on a bathroom floor. There was a prominent cobweb above a door in the kitchen. Stuff that I would shrug at if I'd paid for a standard clean, but unacceptable for a "super deep clean". This was not the cleaning tech's fault - she was punctual and hard-working. But she was sent out to handle the job ALONE, and it ended up taking her 7 hours. Three hours was spent on the kitchen alone - the majority of that time on the fridge, which, for some reason, she started with. I told her I didn't need the fridge cleaned, but I relented when I saw that she seemed uncomfortable skipping it. Also, be aware that they'll attempt to charge $80/hr if the job takes more than four hours. This was not communicated to me in my quote or when I spoke on the phone. Expecting one cleaner to handle the "super deep clean" of a 1500 sq ft condo in four hours seems like a stretch, and I definitely would not have chosen this company if I'd understood these to be their policies/practices. read more

Not sure I recommend them. They did a move out clean of a 1,000 sq ft apartment for $450. They wanted to charge extra for sliding door and blind dusting. Only one person came. I was told the cleaner would come with all her supplies. She didn't bring a ladder. To dust ceiling fans. She needed to use some of my cleaning supplies. I'm returning now to the condo. I'll let u know the type of job. Done. Good job done, but had to point out some misses. She was there 2.5 hours to do a super clean move out. That's $180 an hour. I know she doesn't get that. She was very nice! I didn't get her name. Still recommend you look around. Not impressed by the company. She was fine. Except it should have taken much longer. read more

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY. I wanted to support an all women's cleaning service, so I decided to go with Val's Services, as the details on their website of how thorough they are piqued my interest. I was completely wrong in choosing this company. I went with the MOVE IN/OUT CLEANING, which includes a DEEP CLEANING listed on the website as: Includes our DEEP CLEANING Service PLUS: * All cabinets and drawers (inside & outside) * All baseboards dusted and wiped clean * Fridge, freezer and oven (inside & outside) * Interior windows (reachable with 2-step stool provided by client) This cost me $260, and they did a half assed job. Not only did I get an extra charge for the ceiling fans (even though on the website it is listed under "Take a SNEAK PEEK at Val's Services CHECKLIST", Fans are INCLUDED in their check-list), they did NOT dust and clean ANY BASEBOARDS or the DOOR FRAMES. The tenants prior had 2 cats, and I made it a point to tell the representative about cat fur all over the apartment and doorways, but it fell on deaf ears. They did NOT clean the inside of the Oven. They failed to clean one of the fans because of the residue on it...which is why I chose a DEEP CLEANING. They only cleaned the windows and left the framework around the window disgusting. While i was out of town, my roommate called to complain and they told her for an extra $140 they would send another crew for deep cleaning. WHAT? Your employees did a horrible job and you want me to pay another $140? RIDICULOUS. I am still waiting to hear from a Manager for a full complaint and accommodation that does not require me spending MORE MONEY for a job that should have been done CORRECTLY the first time. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone, and I will definitely make sure that this review gets as many "USEFUL" ratings by sharing the pictures with family and friends. read more

Do not use this company. So incredibly frustrated and disappointed. We hired Val's cleaning for a Move-In Clean. The woman who came to clean was very kind, but there was a language barrier and we were unable to communicate other than hand motions. She needed to know where my broom and paper towels were, when I had to remind her over and over, in this empty apartment, we don't have any cleaning supplies. She proceeded to look around the house and found my landlord's broom in the outdoor closet, and proceeded by using this, and making me late to work. Came back to the following day to see the apartment, unfinished and dirty (see attached photos). After reaching out the Val's, they send out 2 girls after we moved in. They girls told me they were shocked at how the place was left from the previous clean, and brought supplies. They wound up breaking our ceramic toilet brush holder, as well as breaking our glass lamp shade on our ceiling fan. The crew left a note about the items broken, and that we need to reach out to them to receive reimbursement. I reached out about the broken items and was told to send receipts for reimbursement. We then didn't receive our nearly $300 cleaning charge, for 6 MONTHS! After following up by calling, the woman told me that they were having computer issues and no clients had been charged.....? I demanded compensation of some sort and she offered me 15%, which wasn't enough for what frustration this has caused. The most she could go was 20%..... I asked to speak to the manager, who was supposed to call me two days later. I received no phone call and had to follow up 3 separate times, to speak to her. Received a call for the first time after 3 weeks of back and forth. The manager tells me the reason we weren't charged for 6 months was because the last manager was uncapable and now she's handling it? She was unable to provide any other sort of compensation and would not let me talk to the owner, because she is the only one who can talk to customers. This has been the most exhausting experience. This company is dishonest and unprofessional. I hired them to clean our home and make our lives easier, but instead I'm frustrated and angry. read more

I was unsure if I wanted to post this as I am for small businesses. However, I just couldn't ignore the very poor experience I experienced with Val's Services and had to make sure consumers were aware of what they were potentially getting themselves into. The short synopsis is: BEWARE OF HIRING THIS SERVICE! My fiancee were getting married on a Saturday in November and were hosting a party for our out of state friends at our home in Lakeview. I paid $420 for the "deep clean" service and was told that two maids would come and conduct a thorough cleaning of our home. One maid ended up coming. I asked her if another maid was coming as that was what was told to me at the time I booked the $420 service and she said "no" and to call their support line. I called the support line and my only ask was to charge me for the standard service for ~$250 since I wouldn't be receiving the value at $420. She said they don't do refunds under any circumstance. She would call dispatch to get another maid send to my home. She never called back, ever. The single maid did an ok job on our main living area floor with the only real issues I found were still significant dust on ceiling fans and above our kitchen cabinets. The big issue we had was our guestroom floor looked like it was barely worked on. The carpets were not vacuumed at all and we later picked up hair from our dog. Things were not really wiped down at all. So in essence only one half of my house was cleaned. I know we are living in a world of hell where labor is hard to come by, but just tell me that my service was not going to be the "deep clean", and refund me my money for the difference. read more

I gave Val Services a try and can say it was decent. Anika arrived on time and I liked how she asked me to check out rooms as she completed them. She is friendly. One thing is I have 2 cats. They have a food station - a mat with their food and water bowls. There was a LOT of crumbs between the mat and the wall. It wasn't touched. At the rate given for my condo, I think details like that warrant addressing. It was easy for me to just do it, so I did. I'm looking to get recurring services but want to be sure details like that are hit. Still considering trying Val's Services again, but was hoping I'd be like "DANG" blown away rather than "Hmm, very decent" at the rate (much more than Molly Maids who did my friends much larger townhouse for less and spared no expense to amaze) read more

The "deep clean" included the stove and fridge so you tell me if its clean by the photos. The bathroom was barely touched, tub completely ignored, carpets not vacummed, floors not cleaned at all, honestly I was busy working in my bedroom that I didnt pay attention till she said she was done and walking out. I had the deep cleaning, and the only difference I could tell from a standard cleaning was that my fridge was cleaned inside (I asked the freezer not be cleaned as I had not cleared it out). I have pretty high standards, and I thought a deep cleaning would have included interior windows, doors, and handles, but these were quoted as extras. Please beware their expensive options. I booked them for their deepest cleaning, the post-construction. We had major work done and I described in detail what we needed to the rep on the phone. At nearly $500 for a 2bd/2, it was a lot but I know it is also a lot of work. They cleaned many things well enough but they were mostly just trying to get to good enough and get out. They showed up with a cheap vacuum with broken attachments so I lent them my Miele. When I had to join a short work call I stopped them for a quick chat about what was left and made sure they knew how much more was left. While I was on the call, they interrupted me to ask me to walk through and sign off on their completion. In a rush to get back to my call, I did. At just 2 hours, I couldn't believe they got it done so quickly. Except they didn't. I didn't have time to notice till they were gone, but they didn't take out any trash. They left tons of dust in open spaces, on floors, and on trim. There was a mug of gunk left on the counter for some reason. No trash was taken out. Furniture had barely been cleaned, was still dusty. The place was cleaner but very very far from the kind of clean described on their site and here in their reviews. Are they real reviews? Some things were actually pretty good. The fridge is like new. I told the company how frustrated I was and I admit I wasn't able to be calm about it. They were nice enough but I honestly felt defrauded, so their offers to either reclean the place or offer a 10% refund we're laughable. (The 'deep dusting' that's part of the upgrade was about $100 more, so getting back $50 seemed silly). To make matters worse, their apology for the situation was filled with tedious excuses about what they do and don't include in their service. The trim above my doors is considered a door add on. Fine. But I specifically told the rep on the phone and the staff in person that I needed this done. Neither of them told me no, they told me yes. No mention of an extra charge. And then they didn't do it. At this point in the whole process of renovating, I would have paid twice their fee to be done with the dust, so I don't mind that they charge for extras. I mind that I didn't get what they promised even after double confirmation. I mind that they argued with me about what's included when in the first place not even the trash was taken out. I mind that they showed up with broken equipment. I wish them the best at improving their business but as I reiterated to them when they re-offered to come clean again for free: I feel taken advantage of, and I don't want them in my home. I can't recommend that you invite them into your home either. read more
