First of all, i found the perfect cloud couch dupe! It is the couch or my dreams. I have a studio and the Plush 2-peace sectional fits perfectly in my space! The couch is the perfect color cream (ivory), not too white and not too beige. I had my heart set on a white couch, but for functionality and for aesthetics I'm actually happy with the ivory. It warms up the space. The couch is huge! It's most certainly plush, very Restoration Hardware vibes, but much much better value! It's the most coziest with the feather filled cushions. I literally just got it today, so far no problems. It was a pleasure to work with Greg! He was professional and kind--I enjoyed our small talk! He helped me make all the right decisions. Don't ever go to this location -- and more importantly don't talk to Omar Ali. He is the biggest liar of the store. He first told me it would be 20 days until I get the couch I was interested in. I was apprehensive about purchasing it because of the delay. I'm assuming he saw my apprehension and then proceeded to lie to me and tell me the "missing part" of my couch definitely be able to be delivered to the store earlier, giving me the projected date of delivery of October 10th. After going through the purchasing process, he told me he would call me early the following week to confirm a delivery date/time. After not receiving a call, I called them on Thursday of that week, and they told me that earlier delivery would not be possible and gave me a delivery date of October 26th. After not receiving a call for a time window of delivery on the date, I called them. They said that now my delivery would be a week later and they thought I knew (I won't even be in town next weekend so I DEFINITELY wouldn't have confirmed that date). And they said they left a voicemail -- LIE. After several lies, they put me down for a delivery midweek. No apologies, nothing. It's like they don't even care how inconvenient they have made my life. A whole month and a half without a couch after thinking I only had to wait 10 days. If I knew it would have been THIS prolonged, I would have gone somewhere else. But, I guess Omar Ali's sale is more important! read more

Went in on a whim, I've been considering getting a new couch. I was assisted right away, found a couch I liked. They had lots of different options for it like sectional, sofa, loveseats and for fabrics. I went with the Ethan sofa in Ivory, also paid for the protection plan which seems to be very worth the money. Scheduled my delivery and was out the door. It was easy and the service was wonderful. Both my husband and I took off work Saturday to take delivery of our new furniture. I kept asking him did they give you a delivery time. We even called where the delivery was coming from (Novi) and we were assured that our delivery was on for Saturday. On Saturday no delivery. We called and they said we didn't confirm when they called on Friday....we received no call on Friday. No call whatsoever. They basically said so bad so sad. You can have a delivery date next week. This was no fault of ours and we talked with them twice during the week. Worst customer service ever! Now! They are saying that our furniture was delivered to an address that we have never heard of! I've been taking my mom to search for furniture for a few weeks now. I was pleased out of 4 furniture stores, Value City was the first to have a salesman assist us without having to ask for someone. The salesman did spend sometime with us, maybe 30 minutes. He left to assist someone and said he'd be right back. When he left us the only thing at that point was for us to choose between 2 sets. We waited at least 45 minutes. He offered us drinks fir our wait. My mom paid but never received her receipt. I' called the next day and requested a receipt. They emailed a tracking order number. I've been calling today to get a receipt, but the hold time is long and there's someone obviously picking up the phone and hanging up. They maybe they're super busy for the Labor Day sale, but bring enough people in man the phones. Not getting a receipt is unacceptable, too. read more

I have been sent defective items TWICE and have yet to receive the proper items due to the negligence of the staff. Awful service. Purchased a sectional with delivery. Upon arrival, movers got out, looked at my entry and decided my items were to big to fit into my home. No problem I said, return my items to the store and I'll buy something smaller that would fit. Found the items I wanted. The new items cost 200$ more. Placed the order and the sales representative informed me, "the item you've previously ordered is our largest sectional and almost every time, doesn't fit into our customers homes and I'm not surprised your sectional didn't fit" I said, that's ok, here's the SKU # to the smaller items I like and the sales representative informed me that, "the newer item was more money" "in addition, you will have to pay for another delivery fee" Value City driving to my home and telling me my item is too big costed me 119.99 and I'm addition, I have to pay that fee again. So, they won't waive the first 199.99 and said that "you can cancel my order all together, minus the 119.99 for the first order and will will refund you the 850$ for the first order" in fact, they would rather take 119.99 over the 850$ or the 1000$ I was spending on the new item that I no longer want. read more

A very good selection of furniture, everything that I need to get my new house together in the Metro Detroit Area. The saleswoman who was helping me was very nice and she knew everything that was in the store and what went well with what, she even knew the special orders I could get. The only problem is with the furniture not the store. The furniture looks expensive but it's all so light you can easily push it around. Every piece that I sat on slide as I sat down on it. I am sure that a 7 year old child could easily push it across the floor. So, I don't know if that is really worth it. read more

However, when there is a problem with your purchase and it needs to be resolve, then things take a sharp turn to Unpleasantville. They are Rude, you are Disregarded, Ignored and treated as if you are a problem. It is mind-boggling how quickly the wonderful service you receive when you are spending money with this store, completely disappears when there is a problem with the purchase. There is no concern for quality control, to make sure things are functioning properly prior to delivery. There is no concern for the inconvenience and trouble caused when there is an issue with your purchase. No one apologizes or accepts responsibility, nor is there any expediency to correct the problems with any malfunctions or manufacturing defects, that have gone unchecked. The total disregard and disrespect is very unfortunate because that is what customers will share with other potential customers. read more
