DONT DO IT!!!! I purchased a couch on 12/29/2020, it immediately started creaking but nothing too bad... fast forward to January 2022, a year and a few days after purchase, the frame on one half of my sectional gave out. I entered a claim, they looked at it, said they could fix it ... 2 weeks later they say they can't but here is $100 for your couch andbyou get to keep your broke couch that you can't even sit on.... ONE HUNDRED FREAKING DOLLARS FOR A $700 BROKEN COUCH BARELY OVER A YEAR OLD!!!!! That is BEYOND insulting!! So I appealed the "gesture" and said I will NOT accept $100 for a couch I paid $700+ for a year ago with a 5 year "pure promise" warranty!!! They contacted me back not long after and said they understood my frustration and value city will contact me with further instructions on how to take care of the situation... cool. Nothing for a couple weeks, so I called the value city customer service and told them the situation and they transferred me to the purchase location in Lansing, MI. I spoke with a representative there that kept interrupting me whole i was trying to explain the situation saying "you have to call in a claim with the warranty company" which I had already done. So I asked to speak with the manager about the situation instead, who said they would talk to the other managers to see what protocol is. I left my number to receive a call back. Meanwhile, the frame on the other corner has since broken apart and is poking through the couch rendering it unusable. It has been 3 weeks with no call back from the manager at the Lansing, MI location still hasn't called me back. So last Friday I called again went through the whole process again, spoke with the manager, told them I had already been through this and am getting NO WHERE with this.  They promised me I would get a call first thing Monday morning (today) Here we are, almost 4pm and still no call. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that they have been busy, but I will be calling first thing tomorrow!!! Also, before it is said i just abuse my couch... I am the only one who sits on it, maybe an hour a day, along with my 40lb dog. The FRAME of couch should not break from an hour a day of sitting!!! The furniture sold by Value City is cheap, their customer service is trash, and the warranty company they use is junk. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THEM!!!!! This has also been taken to local social media, as well as a local news anchor, and if it doesn't get resolved tomorrow then I will also be taking this issue to the better business bureau and beyond if needed. read more

Reviewing each person I interacted with and averaging it out for the store, because some were better than others. I met Brett on my first visit and he showed me a few mattresses that I might like as a side sleeper. He wasn't pushy at all and didn't seem bothered when I said I needed to look around and compare prices. [*****] Tony was super helpful when I ran into a few speedbumps (some of which I'll elaborate on in a minute), and when one of them was the company discontinuing the mattress I wanted, he helped me find a new one. (I tried a few, but picked out the one he said made my eyes light up.) The bad news is that I couldn't tell him why I had to leave so suddenly--the good is that I should think getting a commission off me is quite a sufficient thank you. Ah, wait, he does get taken down a star...I forgot he signed me up for the most expensive shipping without even asking and nearly cost me $200. I didn't know there were four cheaper options until I happened across them online. [****] Cindy--who was working the Acceptance Now desk the day I was there--is the number one reason I'll probably never go back, and why I completed my purchase by calling corporate. She either doesn't know her job or has no idea how to explain "X days same as cash". (Before I get on with the storytelling, I rate her -3 stars, as I think you'd have to be an unholy terror to get -5.) I walk into the store at three on the appointed day and Cindy's not at her desk. (My fault for assuming that the woman who called and made the appointment actually worked for the store and not some call center.) I stand there and wait. And wait. As I'm waiting, I hear the gal further down the counter say to someone on the phone that Cindy is with a customer, and go down to wait in front of her window instead. When she's finished, I mention my appointment and the gal says Cindy is down there (pointing to where I just came from). "No, she's not. That's why I'm down here...I thought you might have an idea how to reach her with her customer." That's when the gal admits that she thought *I* was the customer Cindy was with, and goes to page her. I wait a little longer and finally Tony comes into the room and asks if I've been helped. When I explain that I've already picked out what I wanted and I just needed to pay, he says that he can get me rung up so I'll be all set when Cindy gets there. (She finally showed up as Tony and I were walking away.) Fast forward to when Tony and I finish up: Cindy (who is mercifully still at her desk, though on the phone this time) tells me when she gets done that I have 120 days to pay, with biweekly payments, and by the time I finish, I will have paid them 2 1/2 times the original price of the item. "Can I have a longer term?" "We only have X, Y and Z." (With the other two being shorter terms.) Eight payments and only seventeen weeks to pay them? On a mattress/spring set that (with properly-priced shipping) cost over $600? She's lucky I simply said "that's too expensive...I can't do this!" and left, rather than telling her she was full of [bleep]! The same day I discovered that cheaper shipping was available, I re-read the explanation of what Acceptance Now does (as posted to the VCF website) and saw that they were advertising "[low] monthly payments that fit your budget". Then what was that junk about biweekly payments that have to made in four months?! I double-checked the meaning of "same as cash" and discovered that what Cindy should've told me was that I had four months to pay as much as I could, and then whatever was leftover would have interest added to it and I'd be responsible for the increased payments from there. That's okay, though...I found another company whose terms were much more amenable. As for my final rating? Between not bothering to ask what kind of shipping would be suitable and nearly costing me $130 extra (I'm not a delicate little princess--I don't need a bunch of strong men to help me setup my bed!) and a woman who seriously needs to google the meaning of "X days same as cash", I give VCF three stars. We bought some furniture on Thursday the 22nd and Kim was out person. She gave us all the information we needed and left us to look around with out a sales person hanging over us. She was there when we needed her. Kim was awesome. I hope she's there next time we go. read more

follow up on original review two weeks ago. Couch delivery a mess- guys said forgot a cord which was later found, they put the couch pillows on backwards, and apparently damaged underframe of recliner. Two weeks of crawling over stuck foot recliner and repair guy came today- very nice and knowledgeable- but couldn't fix frame- have to order new part. Another six weeks. My dog is scared of the 'thumping' sound the recliner makes, poor thing. We purchased the $200 replacement deal that said if anything wrong with this couch they will replace it, but love the couch! If they could make it work right. I complained about delivery deal two weeks ago and store owner wrote would make it right, but never heard from them. Tell all my family and friends not to buy from ValueLESS Furniture!!! read more

Absolutely unprofessional and not consistent with their customer service, delivery, etc. I was supposed to receive my furniture 9/10/22 it is now the following weekend. The communication has been absolutely horrible and is a complete joke. Have communicated my frustration with management multiple times about simple instructions regarding communication and have been met with unprofessionalism and employees who have hung up in my face. All I want is my furniture and clear and direct communication. Hopefully I actually get my furniture on time and delivered as stated. The service in the beginning was great while inquiring but after you give them your money it's an absolute joke. read more

HORRIBLE BUSINESS, SAVE UR TIME. Damaged my property in my home & had the nerve to tell me "we didn't break the objects just damage so we will not be replacing them" did nothing to compensate even after going back and forth with the customer. The manager Amanda has a severe attitude problem which is shocking being that she's in a sales position her professionalism needs to be checked. The head manager Jim hides in meetings and refuses to talk to customers about damage property or issues they have with his business, I still have not been able to get a hold of him. They refused to have meetings set up times etc. When I was there talking to Steve Cotton another manager, he acknowledged what was going on and knows the story of what's happened, and agrees this is wrong and not how you do business. Amanda walks up yells at Steve to stop speaking to me& to come to the back, then slams the customer service door, she knows they've legally done me wrong. Delivery is through a third-party business that's only been up and working for around a year the owner Misty will not answer your phone calls is very sketchy and you cannot find any evidence of their business online, the third-party has also failed 13 out of their 14 investigations on their company due to safety concerns etc. , and is known to have several complaints. Value city was the biggest waste of time I spent thousands of dollars just to have to be reimbursed because the delivery team is incompetent, along with management being disrespectful and not knowing how to properly handle property damage done by their team. The delivery team was also aware that they had done damage to my wall and TV and didn't say anything, hopes of not getting in trouble and passing the seven day insurance policy, which then I would have to deal with the damage and replace. Which is so fraudulent and disgusting to me. Spend your money elsewhere I have an insurance claim going through the parent company above them just because I'm not getting anywhere. I talk around and so many people have had issues with this company it's insane. What a waste, and I will say a half of the furniture in that building is made out of cardboard but with a designer price tag. You walk into the building handfuls of workers just standing around staring at you but they don't help you it's hilarious apparently phones will always be more important. This business should be shut down for how they go about things. 0/5 if I could read more
