I am completely and utterly disappointed in Value City in Taylor, MI we bought and paid for a kitchen table and chairs, told it would be available for pickup April 17, 2024 however when I called today April 16, 2024 I was told the chairs would be available tomorrow April 17 however the table would not be available till May 24, 2024. I've gotten rid of my old table and chairs yesterday. I do not think I will ever recommend or order from Value City again. read more

We purchased a $5,000 leather sectional, coffee table and side table about a year ago. The first time they attempted to deliver was during a major ice storm. Come to find out they brought a white leather sectional when ours was brown. We couldn't believe they would send their people out in an ice storm let alone with wrong sectional. Several days later we received the correct sectional. We also purchased the $500 "insurance" that covers just about anything and everything. The recliner stopped working in one of the sections. We called the warranty company and they sent someone out within a couple days which we appreciated. The repairman said the problem is common with the circuit board and would order a new one. When asked how long it would take to get the part he said "7-10 years." We thought he was joking. This was in March. We were told that it takes a minimum of 12 weeks to get the part and they did not order for almost two weeks after he was at our home. Now we are told that we shouldn't even call and inquire about it until mid August because it takes that long. Unacceptable. read more

Run! Do not hand these people your money. They take it and when you do not get your furniture and it's been almost a year, they take forever issuing a refund check! They continue to sell furniture they do not have in stock and have no clue when they will get it. They tell you it should be by this date. almost year later and still no furniture. you ask for your refund and they want to give you a run around. Ordered three different pieces of furniture. Couch, bed, dresser set. Originally we're given a 1-2 month wait, but with the COVID times and moving into our first apartment we figured we would accept the wait and make due until then. After 2 months are up we get a call the week of that our furniture is delayed by 4 months for the mattress, 2 months for the couch, and another month for the dresser. We declined the dresser and got a full refund, but decided to keep the mattress and couch. When the couch's 2 months were up, we were excited to get it finally and had to look online the day of and find out it had been delayed again for another month. No call, no alert, no notice. All of these delays and we had one phone call originally to notify us of the first changes. Feel like "customer" service is just there to get a paycheck and the company gambles to see if you'll stick around longer than the "expected" delivery time even though they know it will probably be inaccurate. Id say choose somewhere else after this experience. I won't be shopping with any value city furniture in the future ever again. read more

Like everyone else, went in, ordered furniture, The sales person supposedly checked inventory and tit was in inventory and we set a date. I get a call a week later and the date was delayed citing a manufacturer delay. In other words the sales person outright lied to make a sale. I called, asked why she told me they were in stock in the warehouse and gave me a date to deliver and customer service said that even if they are in inventory, they could belong to someone else. Terrible sales model. If you want your furniture anytime soon or when promised, i would suggest that unless you can get an in writing guarantee with double your money back if its not available, you bypass this place and try somewhere else. And dont wait for them to mail you a check, go pick up your refund, it will take forever. read more

This place was spot on! Manerah Masad was our sales person. We have a hard time looking trying to find something in our range and she made awesome recommendations for us. We have not purchased what we want yet but for sure 100% i will be buying this Sunday or Monday for sure and when i do i refuse to buy from anyone except her. She could have just said anything to sell is something to get commission but it seemed like she wasn't even about that. She didn't even try to push anything on us and like i said; she made a recommendation i couldn't pass up. I have been there before to buy a fireplace with soundbar from an older gentleman and my experience was horrible!!!! He was probably the oldest guy there and he was rude and impatient and you could tell he wanted the sale with how pushy he was. The fireplace is great but the volume remote for the soundbar os garbage. No wonder they didn't have it on display. Anything to make a sale for him. Won't deal with him ever! read more

My fiance and I went to see Mark at the showroom (he was very helpful and allowed us to browse at our own pace without lingering or being too pushy). We picked out a sectional sofa, chaise lounge, 5 piece dining room set, 5 piece bedroom set, accent chair, and a bar with two stools. We paid at the front desk and were then told that our shipment would arrive IN FULL in two weeks. It was a little inconvenient considering we had just moved to a new place and had minimal furniture, but we accepted it and waited patiently. After two weeks, the delivery truck showed up with nothing but the chaise lounge and bed frame, both of which were damaged from not being covered in the truck. The delivery guys apologized and said "THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME". We immediately refused the shipment and called Value City. They said that they were willing to compensate by refunding $100 (our order was $3000) and our shipment would again be another two weeks. Needless to say, we cancelled the order and will be doing business elsewhere. I can't believe a place can do business this way and I will never set foot in Value City ever again. read more

Bought furniture here for the house I just bought. Not too much, just a few things. They didn't have the whole sectional. That's fine. They can split the deliveries so they are delivering everything but the part of the sectional that They don't have in 2 days. The rest of the sectional? It will be delivered in 2 more weeks. The first delivery day comes and goes. No news. No calls. What the hell. Turns out someone screwed up and did not schedule the split delivery. So I call back. I schedule the first delivery for 3 more days away. (keep in mind I am doing without furniture that I need this whole time. And paid for) The day before the delivery, I get a call. There is a problem with the bar stools and they will not be available. They will send them with the couch next week. Everything else is delivered except the bar stools and the rest of the sectional. We tip the delivery guys and I hear the one guy calling out to the other guy how much they were tipped. I go to put the wine glasses into the bar, in the built in stemware rack. It was put in backwards. By the professional assemblers that put together my bar. A week later, the day before everything is to be delivered, I get a call. Barstools still won't be ready with the other sectional. The delivery goes ok. Delivery guys are nicer this time and more personable. Tipped again. Another week later. Bar stools arrive. No tips for the delivery guys. (I've tipped them twice already and this is literally 2 barstools) I have them drop them in the kitchen (no need to carry them downstairs. They're light. I can do it. ) and I am finally done with value city furniture in Taylor. NEVER AGAIN. It is worth noting that I went thru value city in Westland 2 1/2 years ago, with no problems. We bought a multi recliner sectional in July 2018 by early November 2018 the parachute handle on one of the recliners broke. On November 27, 2018 the service tech came out but didn't have the right part to fix it and said it had to be ordered. After repeated phone calls and them supposedly having to order part from over sea it is still not fixed. It is now July 5, 2019 and still not fixed and no calls from anyone not even corporate office. I purchased my furniture on 2/23, when purchasing it I scheduled it to be delivered on 3/16. I called today to get an arrival time as I have not heard from anyone and I was informed that my delivery was pushed to 3/21, which no one bothered to make me aware of. I have already gotten rid of my old furniture to make room for the delivery tomorrow. I cannot take delivery on 3/21 as it is a Thursday and I will be at work. So now, my furniture is not being delivered until 3/23 and I was refunded my delivery fee, which they acted like they were doing me a favor even though my family and I are left to sit on the floor for a week. When I called customer care I spoke with Chris, who could not have care less and said that there was nothing he could do for me... after being on the phone an hour he offered me $75 which is offensive being that my entire family has to sit on the floor for an ENTIRE week! He said that he was done discussing the matter with me and that there was no more to discuss. Yesterday day 12/5/17 I went to the store in Taylor MI with my son We were looking for a bedroom set for him. This review is regarding Value City Furniture financing...beware! I decided to go with a 12-month interest free charge account with VCF. A month after receiving the furniture, it dawned on me that I hadn't received an invoice yet. Decided to give it a little more time. I started getting numerous phone calls from a number that wouldn't leave a message. Finally decided to answer call only to find out it was Synchrony bank associated with the VCF account. The woman claimed my account was past due. I stressed with the woman that I never received a bill. She wanted me to pay over the phone. I refused as I don't give personal info over the phone. I asked her to sent me another bill. Nothing came until the following month, with a late fee. I immediately paid off the account. I believe they purposely didn't send the bill in order to make money from the late fee. I wasn't going to give them another chance to rip me off. Think twice before financing with VCF. read more

Bought a 6 piece sectional 2 weeks ago and it was to deliverd 1/23. Got a phone call 1/19 saying only had 5 pieces of it then got another call saying only 4 pieces were in. I want to the store and the manager said there was nothing she could do to compensate me for their screw up. I asked for a price break or something as I will not get a complete set until 2/10 which is ridiculous. Apparently my business means nothing to her.
