Based on that storyline, they're refusing to take responsibility for the flooring damage. The windows were installed without permits. I brought in four independent inspections, including three licensed general contractors and one home inspector. All confirmed active water intrusion and pointed to the window installation as the likely source. Despite that, Forever Builders continues to deny, redirect, and avoid addressing the actual installation. The floors never had water intrusion before the remodel. The problem started after their work. Instead of owning it and fixing it, they've chosen to argue technicalities and wait for CSLB to force the issue. For a company that promotes itself as 5-star, this has been anything but. When serious defects surface, there's no urgency, no accountability, and no effort to stand behind the work. Just excuses. That is not 5-star service. That is not what integrity looks like.

Review Update (2026)…read more I am updating my original 5-star review from a few years ago. At the time, we were very happy with our kitchen remodel and the overall experience working with Creative Design & Build. The project turned out beautifully, which is why I originally left such a positive review. Over the years, however, I noticed that one section of the flooring felt slightly soft when walking on it. At first, it did not seem serious, so we continued to live with it. Recently, the problem became worse and a section of the floor began to noticeably sink when stepped on and eventually a few edges of the flooring broke. At that point, I became concerned that it could become a safety issue. Because we still had plenty of spare flooring boards left over from the project, I attempted to replace the affected board myself. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the new board to fit correctly due to the locking system, and I could not restore the original board either. I then contacted Creative Design & Build for assistance. One reason I reached out was because our original project manager, Oded, had told us that if we ever had any issues, we should contact the company. I left a voicemail and later received a return call from a staff member. After I explained the situation, she said she would check with management and get back to me. A few days later, I received a text message stating that the warranty had expired and that no repairs would be covered. This was disappointing because I had never been informed that there was a four-year warranty period, nor was I able to find any reference to such a limitation in our contract. When I asked for details regarding the warranty and whether they could recommend someone to repair the issue, I did not receive any further response. There were two other issues relating to electrical and plumbing, however we decided to live with that until we had a major problem we needed fixing. I still appreciate the work that was done on our remodel years ago, and our kitchen remains a space we enjoy. However, I have been disappointed by the lack of follow-up and support when a problem arose. My advice to future customers is to make sure all warranty terms, coverage details, and expiration dates are clearly documented and understood before signing a contract.

He was the only one who detailed every item involved in the bid, including update of irrigation. I've had issues in the past with bids for other projects that I assumed included the little details but didn't and then I had to pay extra. Michael's bid included every detail in writing that you would assume would be a part of a new lawn job and it was very reasonable. He also showed up on time for the initial appointment! His crew was great! Their work was very detailed and clean. The job was done within three days and all of the work area, including the driveway, was cleaned up. They even noted my falling-apart fence gate so Michael gave me a very reasonable quote and they did a great job fixing it for me. There were a lot of details for after-care and I've texted Michael multiple times to confirm. He texts back quickly and I never get the impression he's annoyed (I've sent a lot of texts!). I almost wish I had more yard renovations so that I could hire him again! I did discuss a whole-yard mulch job and will absolutely hire Michael when I'm ready for that. No more getting multiple bids for future yard renovations. I'll just call Michael.

We had our design done through Armstrong Garden Center and I liked their design but the bids we were getting with their landscapers were a lot higher than Michael's bid. Also, he was very knowledgeable. He came to do our estimate and we were impressed with his explanation about how he was going to run our water and electrical. No one else who came to give a bid gave a good solution or just didn't know how to do that. So the combination of a good bid and confidence in his knowledge of landscaping made this an easy choice. But best of all, he and his crew delivered on everything that was in the design plus things we decided to add. Now we actually enjoy being in our garden. Thank you!

My front and back yards are about 10 years old, but still look beautiful due to my diligent…read moremaintenance work. Some things I wish I knew then that I know now might help others when planning their yards. Yes, Smart Landscape does a lovely job. Here's what would have made my upkeep a lot easier. 1. Extra protection ground cover to eliminate weeds. Some yards get no weeds because a super heavy cover has been used. I've spent countless hours pulling weeds since yards were done. 2. Go over what plants are going to be used. If I'd done that, I would've saved money and work to remove those that had needles that made it difficult/dangerous to remove. 3. If the designer had visited front yard, he would have seen the slight slope and the DG pathway would not have been a logical design choice. Rain washes it away and I'll have to eventually figure out a way to close up that space. 4. At that time, I didn't meet with the designer. I should have. Although it's a lovely design, I would have pointed out a change or two I'd have preferred. 5. Gray DG is not readily available and it has been difficult to keep the pathway refreshed. Someone said that he was going to provide it, but never did. Overall, I am glad I hired Smart Landscape. UPDATE: I needed to come back to add another star after carefully considering how wonderful Danny and his team are to work with. I had met with no fewer than nine landscape companies before Smart Landscape and they were nightmares for various reasons. Danny is wonderful to work with and makes sure the customer is happy.

From the very beginning, Igor (owner and GC) set the tone for a great experience. He was responsive, punctual, and incredibly easy to work with. Out of all the contractors I reached out to, he was the quickest to reply, provide a quote, and--most importantly--follow through without ever ghosting. What really stood out was how he helped bring my vision to life early on, offering thoughtful design input and walking me through material options at different price points (good, better, best) so I could stay within budget without sacrificing quality. As the project progressed, his level of involvement never dropped. When challenges with the scope came up, Igor personally made the time to meet with me, walk through the situation, and clearly outline the best path forward. Even with a busy schedule, his attention to detail and commitment to high standards were consistently evident throughout the project. What also stood out to me was the team's attention to detail and commitment to quality. Our walls weren't perfectly straight, but instead of cutting corners, the crew took the time to properly float and prep the surfaces with drywall mud so the baseboards would sit clean and flush. That level of care shows in the final product. They also demoed an old closet that had sanitation issues and rebuilt it from scratch in a much better location, completely reframing it and improving both the layout and functionality of the space. On top of that, they finished faster than originally quoted, which was a huge bonus. The crew worked incredibly hard--sometimes late into the evening--to make sure everything was done right. What I appreciated most is that they didn't just stick to the bare minimum scope; if they saw small improvements that could be made, they took care of them without hesitation. During our bathroom remodel, they also went the extra mile to refit the plumbing to meet proper contractor code, which gave me a lot of confidence in the long-term quality and safety of the work. Cesar, the project manager, truly made the experience exceptional. He treats you like family--always responsive, always making time to address concerns, and consistently following up to ensure quality. Even when things got busy, he stayed on top of communication and made sure the right people were brought in when needed. His flexibility and problem-solving really stood out. The crew itself was equally impressive--respectful, professional, and clean. They made sure to tidy up after each day and even took the time to share helpful maintenance tips along the way. Before we had ugly much and uneven concrete in our backyard, now beautiful brick floors and turf. We will use them again on our future projects.

We paid $35,000 for a backyard remodel, and less than three years later the turf is already showing…read moreserious issues. Several areas are completely flattened and won't bounce back, making it look worn out and poorly installed. On top of that, a section of the turf has been burned due to window reflection--something that was never disclosed or even mentioned as a potential issue during the project. When I reached out to the company to come take a look, I was told it wasn't covered under warranty and they refused to even come out to assess it. For the amount of money we invested, that level of customer service is unacceptable. Very disappointing experience overall. I would not recommend this company, especially considering their lack of accountability after taking such a large payment.

They did seriously beautiful work on everything - this is old-school quality craftsmanship, they did careful and meticulous work from start to finish. Dor managed our project and he was incredibly professional, respectful, and kept me updated regularly. This project with Lusso Design was easily the best experience I've had with a contractor - yes, it can be a positive experience! Their bid came in higher than their competitors, but in my experience you get what you pay for... the quality of their work and their professionalism were worth that price. We are very happy with everything they did for us. When we have another project in the future, Lusso Design and Build will be the first call.
