New fireplace

I purchased a home in August 2024. It's a mid-century home built in 1950 located in El Cerrito (college area) San Diego. The bathroom hadn't ever been remodeled, the kitchen needed updating, the entire house needed to be painted, the fireplace needed updating and there were various other projects that I wanted to complete before moving in. I reached out to my network, met with multiple recommended contractors and ultimately decided to go with ValueCrafters Remodeling. Doron and the team at ValueCrafters did a fantastic job. The project took approximately 2.5 months, had some challenges along the way (as they all do), importantly came in on budget and in the end I was able to move into my dream house! Doron was great to work with, responsive, communicative and found solutions when we had problems. I can't believe this is where I get to live! Attitude of gratitude. I'll post some before and after pictures for reference.

Before meeting Doron, I talked to a few other contractors and honestly felt completely lost. Every company had a different story, the prices were all over the place, and I didn't really understand what was the right choice for my home. It made me nervous to start such a big project. From the first conversation with Doron, everything felt different. He took the time to explain exactly what the exterior coating process would look like, answered all my questions patiently, and never tried to pressure me into anything. That gave me a lot of confidence to move forward.Once we started, the whole experience was smooth and professional. The communication was great, the crew showed up on time every day, and they treated my property with care. The quality of the work is outstanding - the house looks brand new.I also love knowing the coating has a lifetime warranty - no hassle, no worries for life - and that the house is now much more energy‑efficient. You can actually feel the difference inside.I'm really happy I trusted Doron and his team. If you're confused or unsure about starting your exterior project, talk to Doron first - you'll understand exactly why I'm writing this review.

Amazing experience from start to finish. The work is top notch and the team is professional. Great communication throughout the process. I would highly recommend.

I hired ValueCrafters after previous bad experience to rebuild my kitchen and flooring after water damage. Best Decision I made. From day one we aligned on what my vision was and ValueCrafters exceeded my expectations by a mile. I am extremely happy with the projects success and excited to share my new place with friends. I will work with ValueCrafters on my next project. Excellent Team

The project included bathroom remodeling, kitchen remodeling, new flooring throughout the house, and interior painting. From beginning to end, the entire experience was smooth, professional, and very well organized. Amit, the project manager, was outstanding throughout the entire process. His communication was excellent he always kept us updated on the timeline, progress, and every important detail. Anytime we had questions or concerns, he responded quickly and made sure everything was handled professionally. One thing that truly stood out was the quality control and attention to detail. The workmanship exceeded our expectations, and every part of the project was completed with care and precision. The crew maintained a clean and safe work environment every single day, which made the remodeling process much less stressful for our family. The project was completed on schedule, and the final results completely transformed our home. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of work and the level of customer service we received. We highly recommend Friendly Remodeling and Amit to anyone looking for a trustworthy and professional remodeling company. We will definitely recommend them to our friends, family, and neighbors.

Based on that storyline, they're refusing to take responsibility for the flooring damage. The windows were installed without permits. I brought in four independent inspections, including three licensed general contractors and one home inspector. All confirmed active water intrusion and pointed to the window installation as the likely source. Despite that, Forever Builders continues to deny, redirect, and avoid addressing the actual installation. The floors never had water intrusion before the remodel. The problem started after their work. Instead of owning it and fixing it, they've chosen to argue technicalities and wait for CSLB to force the issue. For a company that promotes itself as 5-star, this has been anything but. When serious defects surface, there's no urgency, no accountability, and no effort to stand behind the work. Just excuses. That is not 5-star service. That is not what integrity looks like.

Review Update (2026)…read more I am updating my original 5-star review from a few years ago. At the time, we were very happy with our kitchen remodel and the overall experience working with Creative Design & Build. The project turned out beautifully, which is why I originally left such a positive review. Over the years, however, I noticed that one section of the flooring felt slightly soft when walking on it. At first, it did not seem serious, so we continued to live with it. Recently, the problem became worse and a section of the floor began to noticeably sink when stepped on and eventually a few edges of the flooring broke. At that point, I became concerned that it could become a safety issue. Because we still had plenty of spare flooring boards left over from the project, I attempted to replace the affected board myself. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the new board to fit correctly due to the locking system, and I could not restore the original board either. I then contacted Creative Design & Build for assistance. One reason I reached out was because our original project manager, Oded, had told us that if we ever had any issues, we should contact the company. I left a voicemail and later received a return call from a staff member. After I explained the situation, she said she would check with management and get back to me. A few days later, I received a text message stating that the warranty had expired and that no repairs would be covered. This was disappointing because I had never been informed that there was a four-year warranty period, nor was I able to find any reference to such a limitation in our contract. When I asked for details regarding the warranty and whether they could recommend someone to repair the issue, I did not receive any further response. There were two other issues relating to electrical and plumbing, however we decided to live with that until we had a major problem we needed fixing. I still appreciate the work that was done on our remodel years ago, and our kitchen remains a space we enjoy. However, I have been disappointed by the lack of follow-up and support when a problem arose. My advice to future customers is to make sure all warranty terms, coverage details, and expiration dates are clearly documented and understood before signing a contract.
