I came in for a coolant flush, and from the moment I pulled in, they were professional, welcoming, and incredibly efficient. They took the time to walk me through what they were doing, explained the importance of the service, and made sure I felt confident in everything before getting started. Gabe and Jesse worked seamlessly as a team--quick, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. They made sure the coolant flush was done thoroughly and correctly, and even checked over a few other things just to make sure my car was running in top shape. I really appreciated that extra level of care and attention. The whole experience was smooth, honest, and actually enjoyable, which isn't something you always expect when getting car maintenance done. I visited the location near Canton, Baltimore. They were quick, efficient and provided comprehensive yet concise information about things our car needed. The oil change took 15 minutes, and we never had to leave the car. I appreciated their coupons as well. The synthetic oil change with 20% off was $90, so a bit more than I expected. Every time i come here they are fast, thorough , and super friendly. They tell you what you need and show you but don't try to upcharge you at all, if you want extras fine, if not no pressure. They also are only one of the few that take groupons. Also they hooked me up not only with the best price and extra savings all the while filling tires, changing headlights and blinkers annd new air filter for just a little more than a regular oil change. I've been using this location for oil changes for about 10 years and have always had a good experience. I should have reviewed earlier but today was especially great: got my oil changed, used a Groupon (no one was nasty about it), they noted one of my headlights was out (it was). They offered to fix it for $25, VERY reasonable. Unfortunately they didn't have my bulb in stock (halogen, late model vehicle, I believe it). Anyway, they did my oil change etc and then said that if I bought the bulb and brought it back they would install it. I did so and they didn't even charge me. Granted it took all of 2 minutes to change it out but it was a rainy day, I live in the city and therefore have no garage so not having to monkey around in the rain was really appreciated. I'll continue to use this location as long as I live here. read more

My 1st time not at the dealer...I was in & out...that was the only thing positive that I can say. 4 weeks & 5-600 miles after my oil change I heard my valves tapping...checked my oil & I was 3 quarts low. I drive a 2017 Ford F150. I got on the ground & looked for any signs of a leak, nothing found. I looked all over the top of the engine...nothing found. I DID ask at the time of the oil change, if I was low on any of my fluids & was told everything was fine. I always ask this question. You do the math...I was shorted on the oil change. I will never go here again. The tech was busy on his phone most of the time. I checked my air filter in the parking lot before entering the shop. It was fine. They still tried to sell me another. First of all, I would like to say that I normally change my own oil or in a pinch, take my 2012 Honda Accord to a reputable and reasonably priced business such as Precision Tune or Mr. Tire, but in this case I happened to be in Glen Burnie on a Saturday conducting business and pressed for time before heading to Washington, D.C. A quick search on my phone led me to the Valvoline Instant Oil Change located at 5515 Ritchie Hwy in Brooklyn Park a few blocks away. I pulled up and as luck (or in my case, misfortune) would have it, the shop was empty (which should have been a hint) of customers, meaning I was going to have my car serviced without delay. As I pulled into the shop bay I informed the attendant that I had purchased my own oil and oil filter to be used for my oil change. I was told to remain in my car and instead of the oil change I expected I was first given what essentially amounted to a mini-vehicle inspection, which I neither requested nor wanted. To make things worse, the employees all seemed to be working in unison on this well-rehearsed routine, which set off an alarm in my head that said, "You're about to be overcharged for a simple freaking oil change!" No drum roll needed as even when providing my own oil and filter I was charged an absurd $39.99 + tax for the oil change (compared to Jiffy Lube or similar shop charging $19.99) and a blasphemous $39.99 for a simple air filter change (air filters go for $11.99 at any AutoZone in the region)!! At that point I promised myself that even though I normally only write positive reviews to highlight exceptional service from our local Baltimore businesses that it was necessary to warn anyone in the area requiring an oil change to STAY AWAY FROM THE VALVOLINE INSTANT OIL CHANGE IN BROOKLYN PARK AT ALL COSTS!! To make things even worse, my car, just days after being "serviced" by these people registers that my oil levels are only at 15%, giving me some doubt as to whether they actually changed my oil or not!! I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with this business and as a retired, disabled Marine Corps Combat Veteran will warn anyone I know against patronizing this place. I come here only because it's close to my house. During my last visit, the techs who were on shift seemed to be not too focused on the tasks at hand (which is typical of this location). They were handling about 3 different cars at once, all while chit chatting amongst themselves and joking around. I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY OF THAT. What I care about is that they do the job right. They didn't. Their carelessness and distractions led them to forget 1 integral step in the oil-change process, one that I became aware of moments after leaving Valvoline... THEY DIDN'T SCREW DOWN THE SCRAPE PLATE. I went to pick up my infant daughter and after that I was on my way to pick up my son from school. I realized there was something very wrong with the car when I got on the freeway and heard a very loud, deafening scraping noise. This threw me into survival mode. I stopped the car on the shoulder of the highway (with my infant in the back seat) and began to inspect what could be wrong. Sure enough, a large piece of metal was scraping against the road as I drove. I called Valvoline and they told me to come back and they would fix it. As fate had it, I only had another 30 miles to drive before I could get back there. We skipped my son's soccer practice, made it to Valvoline before they closed, and they OFFERED ME A FREE OIL CHANGE ON MY NEXT VISIT. Needless to say, I'm taking my complaint up to corporate. This place lacked sufficient professionalism for me to attempt to remedy the situation with them. They put my life and my family's lives in danger due to their negligence. If you go here, things will probably be fine, as it was for my prior visits. All it takes though is one catastrophe to ruin things. Just be careful because the employees here are liable to jack something up really bad! read more

Hey there - thanks for reading my review of the magnificent Kaitlyn! This sweet human replaced my front and back wipers, did an oil change, both of my cabin and exterior air filters, recommended work that Valvoline couldn't do, and did all of this in under 20 minutes while 6 months pregnant! Can you imagine doing that yourself? I can't and I don't have any children or plans to have any! We couldn't tell that she was pregnant until she maneuvered around the car and apologized to her little, growing babe for the ways she had to bend in such a pleasant manner. I couldn't believe how quickly and easily she handled all of our amateur car owner questions while fixing my Ford Escape up. I had a weird experience at another local Valvoline awhile back and have an agreement with my dealership that says I get free oil changes for life, however that usually takes forever and I thought I might give Valvoline another chance as it was across the street from my dentist appointment that day. I'm so happy that I did - we got a first responder discount as my partner works as a Park Ranger and has credentials, used a coupon on the work, and honestly made the decision to return to Kaitlyn at this Valvoline over our free dealership oil changes for the life of the car while we live in the area! I'm so happy to have met this person and hope everything goes well for her and her pregnancy (especially these days, in the era of Covid-19.) You hear me, Valvoline? Every time I have my oil changed I'm spending at minimum 2 hours regardless if I have an appointment or not. This will never happen again now that I have discovered Valvoline. Everyone was working like a well oiled machine. Everyone was pleasant and explained the different services without being pushy. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes which would probably have been quicker but I have a complicated air filter. I will definitely recommend to my friends. read more

During one of my visits, the technician failed to put my Camaro's custom tire valve caps back on and I lost 3 of them on my way home. Those caps matched my custom rims. During today's visit, I showed up an hour and a half before closing and waited a while to be seen. They didn't have my filter, so they said they topped off my fluids and called the Glen Burnie store (45 minutes before closing.) I arrived at the Glen Burnie store and told them the situation (now 15 minutes before closing because I had to wait in line.) They said the Brooklyn store never called them and that my fluids weren't filled. Why lie? Now the Glen Burnie store is servicing my vehicle past closing time. Thanks for wasting our time, Brooklyn store. Don't worry, I will NOT be back with any of my 4 vehicles. read more

The first visit there was friendly staff and fast service. Second visit friendly staff and no service. Why? because although the business hours are listed as 7:30 am at 8:20 am the lone person there was still waiting on his co-worker to show up. Lone worker equals no service. Granted that things happen the hours of operation cannot be when the employees decide to show up for work. The gentlemen there had no idea what time his co-worker would show up. His only information was "he said he was on his way". After nearly 30 minutes I left. Definitely not the best way to conduct business! read more

Stopped by the Brooklyn Park MD Valvoline spot for an oil change and to get my tires rotated and they cross-thread no less than three wheel lugs on my passenger's side front wheel (my car is front wheel drive). Worse than that is they let me drive off like that without even saying anything. Never going back again. read more
