I have been to SNT twice before for nails in my tire. Both times they were quick, respectful and charged me a very reasonable price. It was so good, I thought I would go back for an oil change and 30 point inspection. However, this time I was unpleasantly surprised. They told me when I dropped off the car it would be $127 so I said no problem. When I returned it magically went up to $192! When I inquired into why they hemmed and hawed until it finally came out that they broke my oil filter cap. They claimed "those break all the time." I pointed out I have gotten my car serviced many times at the dealer (2017 car) and not once have they broke it. No response. They claimed they replaced it "with a better one." So you charged me $68 for a $30 ish aluminum cap that YOU broke. I really hate when people talk to women like they don't know anything about cars. I know they were price gouging me and I don't appreciate being talked to like I was an idiot. I have grown up going to car shows and working with my dad on his classic cars and I don't appreciate this behavior. I will not be returning. I took my truck in to replace the starter and remove a seized bolt in the engine block, which ended up turning into a much bigger job as the hole could no longer accommodate a bolt and required it to be filled and rethreaded by a machinist. Realizing the size of the job to pull the engine and send it off they worked with me on the labor cost. The SNT team were excellent at communicating where they were at every stage and delivered my truck back in better shape than I left it in every way. read more

Tom & Nick we're very friendly and taught me a lot about the tinting laws in MD. They are brothers who run the shop and both lived in Baltimore for many years now. Great customer service and communication was key with them both. Gave me places to get my car retinted and get my emission test eventually after covid19 is over. Small waiting area indoor. I was referred here by a friend. Came in on a Friday afternoon and they were super busy so I set up an appointment for an oil change the following Monday. I arrived at 8:30 that morning and was immediately greeted again by Nick. My car was quickly brought I to the bay and they began working. Nick showed me that I needed a new engine filter which I got for only $15. He also had a few other suggestions for some work needing to be done and he priced of for me. Nick explained it doesn't need it today but it would soon need brakes so he said if I decided to go with him, just call and schedule the work. I was probably outta there by 9:30am at the latest. While visiting in Linthicum, I discovered the front passenger carpet in my mom's car was damp. My brother-in-law suggested taking the car to SNT. I dropped it off and got a phone call by noon that it was all set, having discovered the sunroof drain hole was very plugged with organic material (parked under trees) and that they cleaned it out. They also warned us about some rusting under the car and explained that we should be aware of it as it will mean the end of the service life of the vehicle soon. I took my Handicap van to S N T automotive on Camp Meade Rd to get the automatic door fixed. I had been having issues with the door remaining open and it is difficult to impossible to be in a wheelchair and hold the door open at the same time. After leaving the van at S N T, the owner called me, telling me that my transmission was on the blitz. He said that it would not move in drive. I was perplexed since I have never had a problem and the van was driven to S N T in the morning and all of a sudden it would not move. I calmly questioned the owner and he arrogantly replied DO YOU THINK THAT I AM LYING. I never even hinted to accusing him of lying. Anyway, I immediately had my roommate go check on the van. I live 2 blocks from S N T and my roommate was there and back driving the van, within 5 minutes. My roommate was shocked because he had no issue driving the van back to my house. About 20 minutes later, I get a call from the owner, who leaves a message telling me that he was finally able to get the van in gear to drive on Camp Meade rd but he said the van stalled and would not move. He further added that he had to push the van onto the parking lot and was almost hit by oncoming traffic. MIND YOU, the van had been back in my driveway 20 minutes before the phone call, so there is no way any of what he was saying was true. Furthermore, my roommate said the van had NEVER been moved. It was in the exact place he left it hours before and there is no way the owner could have pushed the van back into the same spot. The logistics and crowded parking lot would have made it impossible. After he lied to me initially, he was trying to cover his ass but he did not realize that the van had been picked up and driven home. Today, I was out driving the van and had no issue whatsoever. I have been so upset over this scam and want everyone to know that S N T is not to be trusted. There is no excuse to prey on and scam unsuspecting people but it is really the lowest of the low to prey and take advantage of the most vulnerable. Really upfront and honest. Once, I had a flat and took it over, they did everything including pulling the tire off but couldn't find the leak. The guy didn't charge me, filled it back up and told me that sometimes flukes happen and to see how it goes. It held the air. He could have sold me a new tire, he could have charged me for the time and effort. He didn't. My husband (who's a mechanic, but deals with heavy equipment) trusts them and we recommend them to our family and friends. read more

My daughter's vintage, and mostly reliable Land Rover Discovery, wasn't running smoothly during a recent trip to BWI from her campus in Baltimore. She was afraid she might not get back home, so she dropped the car off on a Friday evening at the closest automotive shop we could find on Yelp. It was SNT. They were very busy based on the number of cars in line, a good sign in most cases. They called me on Monday morning to let me know they'd take a look at the car later that day. I spoke with them the next day and they said they'd driven it and inspected a few things that could have caused the symptoms, but found nothing faulty. They asked if they could drive it for a day or so more around the area to see if they could reproduce the problem. A few days later I spoke with them again and they advised me that the car had several minor issues, mainly related to the 274,000 miles on the speedometer, but none that were affecting driveability. I thanked them and requested the diagnostic bill. They said "no charge --- we didn't fix anything". I tried to explain that they spent time on it, but they wouldn't accept anything for their effort. I think it's unusual for automotive shops to be that honest. Many would have seen this as an opportunity to take advantage of a customer, either by replacing parts unnecessarily, or charging an inflated diagnostic fee. The guys at SNT did neither. I commend them for their honesty and I'll try my best to send work their way. read more

I had a leaky fuel line that a squirrel had chewed through. So I brought it in to be repaired. No one ever called me before the repair to tell me what it would cost to see if it was okay with me to go ahead with the repair! So to my surprise after I arrived it ended up costing me 290.00 dollars to repair a leaking fuel line! I will not be going back again for any repairs! read more

Stopped by to fill air in my tires due to my check tire pressure light kicking on. Realized when I got to my 3rd tire a HUGE screw was in it. Pulled my car up, Randy was there asking what he could due to help. Here's why I like this place: the owners run a really honest shop. With my 200k timing belt replacement coming up, I was apprehensive about the cost of the service, having read online about quotes in excess of a thousand dollars. Nick gave me a fair quote for the work I needed and was totally upfront about everything, even showing me in person the parts they use. I never felt pressured on an upsell, but rather was told first a recommended level of service, and then without even asking for it was given second an approximation for just a basic level. Nick, the one owner I talked to (of three brothers) has spent his entire life in the industry and really knows cars. Luckily for me, this place is right by where I work, but even if I were coming from Baltimore I'd give this shop consideration for more significant work, because a short drive is worth it for a mechanic you can trust. read more
