Valvoline put the wrong coolant in our radiator and it caused our vehicle to overheat and a tube to break. We had so go to the car dealership to get it fixed. We presented Valvoline on Ford Road and the HQ with evidence of what they did and how it cost us over $200 more to get it fixed, and they won't even refund out money. We had to call the credit card company and force them to give us our money back. We still had to spend $200 + to fix the damage, but there is no way Valvoline would even consider paying for the damage. Stay far way from Valvoline. read more

While It was busy as others have pointed out, this shows to me personally that they must provide good service. This what I was thinking when I read the reviews prior to pulling in. Given there are many oil changes in my area I was happy In the end as the wait was worth it. They came out when I was three cars behind and still communicated with me immediately. they also kept communicating with me the entire time and showed me Exactly the type of oil the computer was showing them that my car should have. My son was with me and they were friendly to him as well, even showing him the oil stick after he asked. Very good experience and I was happy for the cost when factoring the experience in. read more

My adult son, who is autistic, took his 2022 Ford Escape in for a routine oil change at this Valvoline store. The vehicle only had 34,000 miles, yet he was convinced to approve a transmission fluid change -- a service Ford recommends at 150,000 miles for this model. I showed them the official service manual that was in the car and they refused to budge. This felt like a clear case of upselling, and I'm disappointed that the staff didn't take more care in explaining whether the service was truly necessary. Situations like this can be especially difficult for individuals who rely on clear guidance and trust professionals to act in good faith. The management and the tech who serviced my son refused to rectify this when I went back up to the store. I will never go to the store again and I recommend that others avoid it as well. read more

Got an oil change on Saturday while running errands. Was recommended full fuel system cleaning but then was told they did not have time to do it as it was a detailed job... then they recommend a quicker fuel injector cleaner to which I had agreed. Never did they ask how much fuel was in my tank or tell me to fill my tank after the service. I had over a quarter tank of gas, drove home for the day and the following morning my car would not start. Checked the battery- fine. Car appeared to be starving of gas. Called the Valvoline at which it was serviced- in canton Michigan on ford road. We were told "they've never heard of anything like this".. my husband asked what their ratio was for fuel to fuel injector cleaner- they did not know. They then recommended I go get full service on the car to find the issue, and let them know if the issue is related to the fuel service. We were able to find the directions of their product which specifically says to fill the tank after addition of the fuel injector cleaner. Nether my attendant nor the manager recommended this. My husband called back clearly frustrated. Not only did they do the job half assed they doubled down on it then recommended we pay out of pocket to solve a really simple problem. We never got the same "manager" on the line. Spoke to 3 different unhelpful workers ultimately to get hung up on. Piss. Poor. Service. As a woman who does not know about cars I truly rely on the guidance of "professionals". Being offered services that you "don't have time for" then not even giving proper advice when services are provided? No consistency for customer care with concerns. read more

I received courteous and thorough service from Valvoline for an oil change, tire rotation, and filter replacement for my husband's company car. I can't comment on price since this one was covered, but I do know that they send out mailers with decent savings and oftentimes there are discounts online, so always check. (We always replace our own filters on our personal cars as it's not prudent to pay them most times.) The staff was professional and worked quickly, while still being thorough each step of the way. Super slow service. Waited outside for over an hour and then took 45 minutes inside. There is no sense of urgency or time management skills here. At least the staff should keep you updated as the online wait time showed 0 to 10 minutes. Try other locations as they may have efficient staff. read more

When your oil change is at or almost above a dealership why would you not just go back to the dealership to keep the impeccable maintenance record....???? This is just flabbergasting. This was my go-to place for 20+ years. No more. They failed to replace my splash guard following an oil change. Then when I returned for it, 5 employees all failed to offer any apology. To ice the cake, they failed to email my receipt. So I can't write a review to VIOC because I don't have a receipt 'code'. Do yourself a favor - drive to the Westland VIOC instead. read more

The staff is poorly trained and inefficient at getting the oil changed in your car. We were there for at least 30 minutes or more only one car ahead of us. As well as the staff is mouthy and very rude. They stood in front of our car for 5 -10 minutes talking and not putting the hood down so the we could leave once they were done. When we asked them to put the hood down and to move out from in front of the car they didn't want to move and several of the employees were rude and belligerent to us. read more

I always have a wonderful experience at this location. Staff is always friendly and efficient. My recent interaction with the manager, Alex, was particularly positive and drove me to write this review. The oil light on my 2008 Impala went off, so I drove in to get it changed. Didn't even look at my mileage. When I gave my mileage to the employee who greeted me, he disappeared and Alex came out and explained that I was actually 2,000 miles away from needing an oil change, and it's common for my vehicle to give inaccurate notifications on its oil life. I'm not car savvy...they could have changed my oil and taken my money and I seriously wouldn't have noticed a thing. Their honestly meant a lot to me as a customer, and I'll definitely continue to give this location my business because of this positive experience. I have never, until now had an oil change that did not include checking tire pressure, checking break lights, checking head and tail lights and blinkers. If all you want is someone to act annoyed that you have interrupted their day by driving into a oil change business to get an oil change this is the place. They pope the hood, changed the oil, I hope topped off other fluids and $83.00 later sent me on my way. When I address the young gentleman and said they usually check my tire pressure and lights he said "Umm Yea" and opened the door.
