I made my first visit to Valvoline today, and it definitely won't be my last. I had let my car go a little longer than usual between oil changes, and with an upcoming road trip, I was in a bit of a time crunch. After looking at options online and seeing all the positive reviews, I decided to give them a try. Since I only had a couple of workdays to get it done--and a packed schedule--I stopped in during my lunch break, and the experience felt almost magical. There was no wait at all, and I didn't even have to get out of my car. As soon as I arrived, they waved me into the garage. The crew quickly came over, confirmed what I needed, and got to work right away. Within about 15 minutes, my oil was changed, the air filter was replaced (it definitely needed it), and they checked my tire pressure and all the lights. Everyone was friendly, professional, and incredibly efficient--truly a top-notch team. Bonus: they had a coupon available on their app so I saved $15! read more

We took our Honda Odyssey just before selling it so that we could tell the next owners it had a fresh oil change. I went to a different valvoline location and needed my splash guard taken off as it broke and was dragging on the ground, along with a new battery and new headlight. The other location did everything but take off the splash guard, which was my biggest issue. I stopped at this Valvoline location and came in right before work, and they were able to get me in and out within 5 minutes. Great customer service and timely service! read more

I will not get my oil changed anywhere else but Clive Valvoline. The uniformed staff are young and knowledgeable and courteous. They're like car doctors with tattoos. 5 stars for not treating me like an idiot because I can't open my hood without searching for the button and don't know my tire pressure is right in the door. It's fun to hang out in your car while they work. They talk car doctor talk: "Refill left bay three" and "We're ready for oil topside." AND it smells like fresh oil. I feel like I'm in the 1950s and the 2050s at the same time. They don't mess around here. I pulled in with one car ahead and I was out in 20 minutes. Without having to get out of my car, I got my lights checked, fluids refilled, tires filled, oil changed. They can change your battery, clean your fuel system, recharge your AC, do synthetic or regular oil change, transmission fluid, radiator fluid, filters. Friendly, professional, open on Sundays. Love the reminder sticker and coupon that gets emailed just when you need it. read more

I visited Valvoline on Wednesday morning for an oil change. When I arrived, all three slots were full and one person was waiting in line so I was worried it might be awhile. I chose this spot because I knew I could get through quick. Although it did take some time to get through (the vehicles inside were getting A LOT done), the staff did whatever they could to get me done quickly. They made a vehicle move so I could go in front of them, they completed my light/signal test before I entered the garage and gave me 20% off at checkout. Super friendly & accommodating. Great experience: PROS: Was able to stay in the vehicle and listen as work was being done on my vehicle. Very thorough. Even asked what pressure I would like in my tires. CON: Price. I thought since it was an express oil change, it would be closer to $20-$25. Final price was $55. Maybe it was my own fault, and I didn't ask for the right service? After getting an oil change and driving home, I noticed my check engine light was on. 3.5 Stopped over my lunch hour and I was quickly directed into the bay for my oil change. The employees were all pleasant and explained everything clearly. My only reason for the 3.5 stars is they are pretty expensive and I had a coupon. I will probably go to my dealership next time because that same price includes vacuuming and washing my car as well as topping off fluids. In addition to oil changes, they inspect all aspects of your vehicle from your license plate lights to your wiper blades. I drive an fj cruiser and they had my front wiper blades in stock. Stay in your car, is my advice. They're pretty quick. You'll be done in ten minutes, so pull out your phone, check your emails and follow their prompts to pop your trunk and flash your lights to help them out with their check. I love the convince of Valvoline! This is my go to place in the Des Moines are for a quick oil change. No need to get out of your car just pull on up and they take care of it all. They employees are extremely friendly and explained everything that they were checking in my car. We were waited on by the store manager, and his customer service was second to none. Outstanding! We had an oil change and our serpentine belt changed and were out of there in minutes. Stopped in for a 15 minute oil change for the first time. After 5 minutes they told me they broke the dipstick off and that they were unable to fix it. Said I needed to go to a full service auto body shop and then bring them back the receipt. I told them they would have to fix it. They didn't want to because they said it would take them longer than a body shop. I insisted they fix it, even though they said it would take them three hours. It did and they still charged me for an oil change despite the inconvenience of them breaking something off my car and having to wait that long instead of a short oil change. Also, when inside to get finished car, the man shrugged off my concerns and basically said "it is what it is." Side note: while they were talking about the dipstick breaking they mentioned it was the 4th time it has happened this month because they weren't letting cars cool down before working on them. So it was a problem they were aware of and could have prevented in the first place. I will not be back. read more

Went there at 3700mi, been driving long trips so figured get it done before the weekend. Got the "max life" last time. Real nice rep came out few minutes into oil change, and i'm thinking "what's wrong?" when someone comes out unexpectedly to give you news about your vehicle, it's usually bad. Anyhow he tells me the max life is good 4-5k, no oil change is needed. They topped it off and sent me on my way. Most outfits would've changed it and charged me. Thought it was real decent of them to do that for me. Definitely recommend this Valvoline. Will be going there again. read more
