Do not go here! I took my car for an oil change last week parked it for the week started it yesterday. I have oil on my driveway which I have never had an issue like this before. Please do to google and read the reviews it's terrible! I also love that they scan your VIN and a bunch of pages come up in "what goes wrong with your type of vehicle" I just had some costly repairs done on other things with and oil change 4 months ago. I chose this place for its contact-less service. I just stayed in the car and did not have to get down. All my work was done in like 15-20 minutes max. They checked all the details and asked my approval before doing each and everything. The prices are reasonable and they never try to up-sell you. They have two bays and was able to pull right in without waiting. They do accept coupons. I did get yelp check-in coupon (10% off additional services ), but as I already had 30% coupon, I used that. Got oil changed here worst experience ever. Called corporate who said they would look into it and get back to me, they did not . They checked tire pressure left cap stems off of tires .Changed light bulb allegedly found old light bulb iwhen I got to work and opened trunk .Brake light stil not working. They charged me for bulb they never replaced. They refuse to reimburse me . So basically getting oil changed at valvoline cost you more repairs . Go somewhere else . read more

Needed a new battery for my vehicle. My vehicle requires a professional installation. Called and verified they had the battery available and time to complete the work. Priced a new battery at the local auto supply shops and installation and parts were comparable to prices. I took my new 2016 Ford Edge Sport here for an oil change and a tire rotation in a pinch, since it takes so long sometimes to get into a dealership. I wish I would have waited. DO NOT HAVE YOUR TIRES ROTATED AT THIS LOCATION! THEY DAMAGED ALL 4 RIMS! I POSTED PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE, CHECK THEM OUT! All seemed fine until the tire rotation. The mechanics could not get the lug nuts on and off and were really struggling. They told me the issue was the way Ford makes their rims and lug nuts, and being a new car, I didn't think too much of it. They were rocking the entire car and checked every tire about 3-4 times, which prompted me to ask if they're sure my wheels won't fall off when I leave! They thought I was kidding, but I was kind of serious. Though the appointment took longer than I would have expected, the job was done and I was on my way. The next day, I walked out to my car and noticed huge gashes in my rims. I know for a fact these were not there a few days prior as I had just hand washed my entire car. I did a walk around of every rim, and every single one had damage...and I knew right away it was from the mechanics from the day prior. I called Valvoline and spoke with Chris (the manager) on the phone and came in the next day for him to take a look at the damage. He himself was surprised and said this kind of damage should not have happened. I sent him pictures and the next step was to contact Corporate and seek compensation for the damage. I received an email back from Chris, who forwarded Corporate's response. They stated "After investigation and thought we will be denying this case as it is completely within the scope of work to replace the tire,if the customer had flat on side of road same ware would show from the lug wrench. We will be willing to refund the TR service as she was not satisfied with the service but we will hold no liability on the wheels." All you can do is refund my tire rotation service? It is within the scope of their work and normal for me to see damage? Wrong! It is NOT within the scope of your work to damage a customer's rims the way they damaged mine. I have had countless tire rotations, and I have never experienced the damage I did with this visit. I responded back to Chris and asked for contact information from Corporate so I could try to escalate my issue on my own, and he never responded to my request. Completely and utterly disgusted with my experience. I was told my rims were "too expensive" and Corporate didn't want to fork out the money to have them replaced or repaired. I will never ever come back to this location and I have already spread the negative feedback to friends who visit these types of service locations. I have had both my car and my wife's car here for oil changes - the staff are friendly, helpful, and efficient. I really appreciate that they go the extra mile. I was unable to get an old license plate off my car due to it rusting on despite multiple tools and attempts. The staff helped me out out of their own volition and managed to get the plate off without issue. They also do a great job at contactless service. This occurred at the Allen Park, MI Valvoline Instant Oil Change location. Here is my honest account of a NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE at  * Valvoline Instant OIl Change * .   I choose to leave one thousand NEGATIVE Stars for their complete negligence in this particular case.  I took my well maintained and respectfully driven Plymouth Voyager there for a basic oil change and the attendant installed the wrong oil filter in turn causing all 5 quarts of oil to gush suddenly out of the van while I was driving West on I-94 interstate- just 15 minutes later. The oil filter BLEW halfway off the engine- since the mounting bolts did not match. You could see it just hanging there.        I pulled the van over right away- but the engine sustained severe damage. After I had it towed to a service station and a new correct oil filter installed, along with a new oil change; of course- the mechanic then showed me the Oil Filter that Valvoline  nstant Oil Change had installed.  He then  confirmed it was not for the correct vehicle, at all.  I saved the oil filter as evidence. Immediately thereafter; an engine rod began to knock as a direct result. I took Valvoline Instant OIl change to Small Claims Court near the Dearborn, MI location- with the actual ( wrong Oil filter) as evidence-  They plea bargained me with with a cash offer- I turned it down because it was not enough to replace the engine- then  back  to the trial- I noticed a strange relationship seemed to exist between the judge and the Valvoline Manager. I knew something was amiss when I noticed them  come out of the Judge's Chamber together and exchange a strange smirk to one another.       I was called to the witness stand. I represented myself and I submitted my testimony  and the ( wrong oil filter ) as evidence and also a notarized statement from a professionally licensed mechanic stating that the installation of the wrong * Oil Filter* most likely caused the engine to develop a rod knock.  The Judge said he could not admiss or accept the notarized statement as court room evidence because I did not mention it to the Manager of the Valvoline Instant OIl Change defense so they would have time to prepare their defense. I said very sternly to the corrupt judge- "What are talking about! This oil filter and statement proves they installed the wrong part! What's wrong with you, Judge!"  The judge threatened me with courtroom disruption . I tried to calm myself down since I was obviously devastated with the fraudulent ruling in this case.  I knew right away this was nothing less than cold hard payola * Small Claims / Judge Defendant Corruption * taking place right before my very eyes. Where was the integrity and honor they both proclaimed to base their practices on now? I stand by this as One Hundred  Percent Fact. In fact- if a lawyer wants to re-open the case today in 2021- I am ready to go back to the witness stand . We can look up the public Small Claims court records and demand a re-trial. I was low on funds at the time or I would have hired a lawyer. I am also available for News Channel interviews. read more

UPDATE: Please read this entire review, you will never believe this! I posted my review the morning on 2/19 and received an email via yelp in the early afternoon. I was surprised but happy that making serious issues known can make a difference.... but, wait, not so fast..... In the note back from the business owner it says to call some generic hotline to press a bunch of buttons to get put on hold to wait for someone to figure out who you are. After a few minutes, which I have to admit did irritate me after this whole ordeal. The nice customer service lady, Melissa, could not find me in the system because my name was spelt incorrectly, even though the creepy clown (referenced below) had my photo id and other personal information. I think she was trying to sympathize with me by saying that when she read what I wrote on yelp she was creeped out for me. Um, ok, that doesnt really make me feel any better. She said that she was concerned about the behavior... um, yep, I get that. Completely unacceptable. But the topper was, she wanted me to explain what happened so they could fix it. Fix it? How? I was completely taken back by the lack of sincerity. No apology or explanation that this was not the policy or they are sorry and they would try to make it right. I get it, things happen but I was shocked by the inquiry to just "learn more," rather than concerning themselves with making it right. What else could you possibly want me to say? Your guy was inappropriate, he refused to give me a receipt AND I called three time DIRECTLY to the place AND told them about this guy's behavior. I didnt mean to be rude to the customer service lady, but I just said "whatever, it doesnt matter what I say- please send me my invoice bc I have already called and asked 3 times." Come on, people. The icing on the cake is (since I already had a topper) was the FREAKING NAME OF THE PERSON IS ON THE INVOICE THEY SENT ME. So whatever Valvoline. You completely suck. I found a $15 off an oil change coupon in the mail and figured it had to at least be a decent deal. When I arrived there were a couple of cars in front of me so I waited for about a half hour before they got to me. .. no big deal I just cranked the music and relaxed. There was a guy who came up and started helping me out before i pulled into the main building to help move things along. ... seemed efficient. Finally pulled into the place and there was a total creepster that started talking my ear off. I tried to be polite but this dude was really irritating. He asked if I was married, how many kids I had, then why i didn't have children. ... was it a medical reason or personal choice? Are you kidding me? I was stuck in my car in a creepy building with a creepy dude leaning on my door asking me if i am fertile?! I was pretty sure i came for an oil change not an interrogation! He mentioned how cheery and fun I was... and he wanted to know all about my husband. I was trying not to be rude but clearly not wanting to engage in ANY conversation but at the same time trying not to tell this guy to shut f* up. It creeped me out even more that he had my personal information because he was holding on to my drivers license, telling me it was one the prettiest id pictures he has ever seen. You have GOT to be kidding me..... He proceeded to tell me ALL about his love life (completely gross) and all of his problems. I just tried to zone out and ignore him.. and still not scream.... The job went fine I guess. ... seemed WAY overpriced. Over $100 for an oil change/filter change AND he refused to give me a receipt so I could validate I didn't get totally ripped off. I was told they don't give receipts, they could only e-mail them. I got my oil change almost 3 weeks ago and haven't received it. .. despite calling and requesting it to be resent. Twice. All I can assume is that i did get taken for a complete fool and completely insulted to boot. I can promise i will never return AND inform everyone about how disgusting my experience was. They get two stars because they are conveniently located, were friendly, and I ended up with new oil in my car. From there, it's all downhill. I told them twice to make sure they put the car back together correctly because of a bad experience we had at a different oil change facility. Valvoline in Canton assured me it would be done correctly. It wasn't. They put the underbody panel back on incorrectly, and left one of the screws off AFTER I told them twice to make sure they got everything right. Now the panel flaps in the breeze! And we have to special order the screws. And this was after paying about $70 for the oil change. I will never return. read more

Quick, simple oil change. I've never been to one of these drive-in oil change places. There was a few minutes of amusing confusion when Da New Guy misdirected me into the shop and I had to do a bit of back up - now go left - now go right - now back up again - now bow to your corner, bow to your partner and Grand Right and Left and ... wait, what was I babbling about again. Oh, yeah. So you get to sit in your vehicle while they do all their work, which is nice for old cripples like me. While they're poking around they do spot checks of various things. They told me that I had a couple of leaks, which may or may not be correct. Either way they said, "We don't fix those" so even if they were wrong they weren't trying to make something up to try to sell me something. It's likely at least one of the leaks is real, as I am driving Ye Olde RustBucket of DOOM. They did pull my air filter [or, as it looked like, my dirt filter] and suggested a new one. 20 yrs ago I could have and would have replaced an air filter myself for less than half of what they probably charged me, but now that I'm decrepit it's easier to just say, "Go ahead." I did, in the suspicious corner of my brain, consider that they showed me a fake one to sell me something but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, especially since I don't think the filter had been replaced in too long of a time. They checked all the other fluids, put some air in the tire on the bad rim that's always making the tire go flat, and asked a bunch of other questions about the ages of various things in the vehicle [battery, wipers, etc.] all of which were relatively new. There were, I believe, 4 (maybe 5?) folks who worked smoothly together as a team with good humor and seemed to enjoy their job. $60ish for the oil change [YORBoD gets semi-synthetic oil] + the air filter, 15-ish minutes later and I drove right out. I don't know why this says it's Westland when it's actually in Canton on Ford Rd near Sheldon. Found a Groupon to use that saved me money today. Plus I still could get my 1,000 Speedy Reward Points. These guys were great! They were so friendly, helped me with my Groupon voucher on my phone, laughed and chatted, even spent some time chatting with my 7 year old grandson who was so intrigued with everything they were doing. Although they did suggest 'extra' services, they were not pushy at all like some places I've been to. I did opt to replace a very dirty filter. In no time I was happily on my way again and felt good that my vehicle seemed to run quieter. read more

I usually have a "guy" for oil changes and car repairs, but I was in the area with a few minutes to kill before dinner. They were down to one bay, but sent Max out to explain there was a car inside finishing their power steering flush and one car in front of me for an oil change. I got an estimate on time and decided to wait it out. Quickly we moved up and the car in front of me pulled in for their oil change. While that car was in the bay, Max came out to check my tire pressure, my fluids, and got all of that finished before I was even inside. As I pulled in, they quickly started working. Nick was the tech below, and I believe DJ was the gentleman helping me get set up. They found a squirrel's nest under the hood, which they kindly used the air gauges to blow out of there. My oil was changed fast and efficiently, and I was hooked up with a hefty discount. I will DEFINITELY be back! read more

SCAM ALERT!!! I have a 2014 Chevy Malibu. Sent my 18 y.o. son to Canton, Mi location for a routine oil change. The sale/mechanic named Chris mislead my kid into purchasing a full synthetic oil, which my car does not require.The total damage for oil change was $92 !!!! Super high on the price however you get a lot of bang for the buck. They top off all of your fluids including coolant and check you tire pressure all included in the price. Elijah was awesome and super helpful. They didn't carry my filter for my car but they offered to go and make a run for it free of charge. If you have wipers or any parts like it they will install it for free all included in price. A lot of money for the oil change but the service and knowledge was on point. In and out in 15 minutes for a full synthetic oil change. Except they didn't put air in my tires, top up my wiper fluid, or BOLT MY SKID PLATE BACK ON MY CAR! It wasn't until I got home that my husband was like "uhhhh the entire front of the skid plate is sagging". Incredibly unprofessional and I will never give them my money again. I went to the one in Ann Arbor to have the issue fixed. They happily bolted my skid plate on and apologizes for the inconvenience. read more
