Whatever you do don't go to this location especially don't get a tire rotation here. I came in for an oil change and it was recommended per my company fleet vehicle regulations to get one done. They had a new employee perform the tire rotation and you could tell from the beginning that she didn't know what she was doing. She stripped one of my lug-nuts. I wound up being there for hours because they couldn't get the tire off. They had to order a new lug nut. I drive my car extensively for work. She barely finished doing the job. She was ready to have my car pulled out for f the bay before they realized she made a huge mistake. They had to put the wheels on the side they started back to their original position. I had to leave with 1 missing lug nut. They had to order a new lug nut for me. So now I have to return. This was a disgrace. I don't have a problem with a female preforming this job as long as she's experienced which she wasn't and monitored since she's a new employee. Totally irresponsible and unprofessional! I hope she spent lose her job but she definitely needs more training. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. This company will definitely scam you out of your money, or try to cause major damage to your car. I went in for an oil change on 12/13/2025. They showed me the dip stick afterwards and the oil level was a half an inch past the bend. So I told the guy that was too much oil in my car. His response was that my engine was hot and the oil was correct. I checked the oil the next day before driving and it was still a half inch past the bend. I brought it back on the 14th and was told that my car is an older Nissan and they need that much oil. He said the dip stick isn't correct and the oil level needs to be higher than the recommended top dot indication on the dip stick. He asked if I still wanted him to take oil out and I said yes. He took the oil down to the bend of the dip stick and said he doesn't want to take anymore because then I'll be low in oil. I had to take my car back a third time on the 17th to get more oil taken out because I kept getting a pull back when I stepped on my gas. After speaking to my friends and family about my situation, they said that the oil level at the bend is still too much oil in my car. On the third time, they finally took the oil level down to the top dot on the dip stick. After requesting a refund for the inconvenience of having to return multiple times in order to get a proper level oil change. and the unprofessionalism of the company giving me misinformation on incorrect oil levels, they would only offer me a free oil change. Their area manager William refuses to give me a refund. I do not want a free oil change. Horrible experience at the Dover Valvoline, and with the company as a whole. The maintenance manager came to look. Yup the air filter is not installed properly. Not sorry no discount, the manager said guess I need to train the person. Wait she's not trained on how to do this? This is the perfect place to go if you want poor service and to be lied to. After arriving back home, I noticed oil on my driveway. Upon investigation, I could see oil covering the underside of my car, and on top of that, they left the socket on the oil filter. I don't know how this could happen, considering they do call-outs to verify everything is in order. After discovering this, I contacted the number listed on the receipt and was transferred to the manager at the location. As expected, she asked me to return to correct the issue and was told I would be refunded. This is when the fun starts. The manager left just before I arrived, so I had to deal with another female there. She tried to tell me that the manager had not informed her of this and offered me an oil change voucher for my next service, which I declined. At some point, because I refused this voucher, she contacted corporate and came back to tell me that the manager did not offer me a refund and actually offered to have my vehicle towed in, which is a complete LIE. She proceeded to tell me that the conversation was recorded, so of course, I asked to hear the recording because, at this point, they were calling me a LIAR. While all this was going on, they magically got the manager on the phone and she went on to tell me what she said, which was not actually what she said. Steer clear of this place. They clearly have issues with the staff doing the work, as well as the management trying to cover their butts because of the mistake as well as the lying to try and cover it up. Edit: I've spoken to Tabitha, who works with customer service, and a refund is being issued. Also, KEEP in mind that the people in the garage at Valvoline can put notes on your account, which is also viewable by customer service. Tabitha told me explicitly that my initial complaint over the phone with the manager was NOT noted on my account. read more

I always go to Valvoline for my oil changes. The first time I went to this location, I pulled in front of the bay (where it says you are supposed to wait) - there was a car in the bay and then I would be next. A customer who was parked across the parking lot came running up to my car and started yelling at me saying he was next. Again, he was NOT in line and was parked in a parking spot, not like he was in line. He was extremely aggressive, yelling, cussing and I was really scared as a woman. One of the employees came out and when I said what happened (almost crying at this point), he said don't worry about it, and that they would take him first and then me. When I said he wasn't in line and he shouldn't be rewarded for acting like that, the employee just shrugged. I have never been treated like that anywhere. The way he was acting, he should have been refused service and asked to leave after attacking another customer. This location, at least, does not care at all about the safety of their customers and Valvoline will never get another penny from me. read more

I came to this location yesterday and was asked to change lanes so that another car in another lane could go before me. After receiving the oil change service, they did not put my undercover splash shield back on properly and it was flapping in the wind. I am back today to have them correct the issue. I spoke with one of the service people upon arrival and have been waiting in line for close to an hour for them to properly place the cover back on. They here has been no juggling of lanes for me to go first like I experienced yesterday. I am literally here longer than yesterday due to negligence on their part. read more

Such a great deal and customer service from Kaseem and Michael were awesome. I would definitely recommend this location if you don't have too much time on your hands. I am a repeat customer and I will continue to visit this location as they provide outstanding service! I had a very very short wait, inspection and work began promptly. Every employee was properly attired, presentation is everything! The work areas, including floors were exceptionally clean and free of any hoses, tools or items. I noticed safety nets in use over the openings, the areas are well lit and "safety first" was being enforced, even when it came to having keys in the ignition. The service team was quite attentive, the manager came by, introduced herself and I commented on how pleased I was. Oh, they provided not only a receipt, but an easy to read list of future services and I am an AARP member and I received a discount! I used that savings to have the air filter replaced while I was there, they had it in stock. Awesome! read more

Received an oil change. Made sure I stood outside the bay to observe the work. I had doubts about this job. The young man with the long hair didn't seem right. Fairly obvious he has no clue. Back to him in a minute. The other mechanic did the work and that went OK. The young man was unsteady pulling the car into the bay. When my car was done the young long hair guy came and informed me the antifreeze was low. I asked "how do you know?" He said there was nothing in the tank. I asked how is it low? He said it leaked out. I asked where? He didn't know. I then told him he was looking at the coolant expansion tank and that's not an indicator of missing antifreeze. He walked away baffled. Being I or anyone would see leaking coolant or an engine running hotter than normal his claim would have merit. Possibly an upsell to the unknowing customer. This kid should not be working on any vehicle unsupervised. My 2nd time there and had to wipe grease off my hood, fenders, and arm rest after I told him to not get my car greasy. He may be a little slow upstairs and not sure this is the best industry for him. I'll go elsewhere next time. Places like Mr. Tire, Firestone, probably can't hire knowledgeable mechanics and may be just another Pep Boys facility employing service technicians with no realistic requirements to do automotive work. Another indicator would be nobody in the waiting room both times I went there waiting on work to be done while other places have no fewer than 6 customers in their room. I can only assume auto mechanics with skill are not working in chain garages like this one. Be leary and ask the right questions. It could cost you some big bucks for a misdiagnosed car. read more

My husband and I went here during the day to get an oil change on his Elantra. They rushed the process and ended up double gasketing the oil filter, unknown to us. The first stop light we came to upon leaving, all of the oil fell out of my husband's car onto the road. The manager, Steve told us he would call us a tow truck and then told us he actually couldn't do that. We ended up paying for a tow truck ourselves, seeing as you can't drive a car with no oil in it. We were told that they would not be responsible for anything that happened to the car without proof. Some lady at Valvoline actually told my husband that he doesn't know what he is talking about. We took the car to a shop and they gave us the proof we needed. We are out about $500 from having to get his car fixed and pay for a tow truck. Valvoline's been hiring some sketchy people and don't seem to care about quality vs quantity anymore. They must work off commission or something to act that way. We gave them the proof they requested but have yet to hear anything, it's been about a week already. read more

I've been taking my car to valvoline for a little while now and as time has passed I've realized a series of common problems that I initially brushed off. About 4 months ago I took my *newer* Suv in for an oil change (low mileage and relatively no issues) - I received what I believed to be good service. But a day or two later my car started making a clicking noise when I would turn the steering wheel or back out of parking spaces. I disregarded for about a month or so and finally took it to the shop after realizing the noise was not going away. The dealership told me my axels underneath my car were loose and I needed them tightened in addition to a hard reset because my emergency brake also had gotten stuck after the oil change which never happened before. I paid roughly about $500 for the work and from there my car was driving smooth again no clicking no issues. I'm a happy camper. So earlier this month I returned to Valvoline for another needed oil change (received what I thought again was a fine oil change). Similar to the first time, the very next day I heard the same clicking noise. At this point I know it is something that had to been messed up at Vavoline so I try calling and no answer. So the next day I return and share with the mechanics my issue. They said they will take a look. After taking a look they claim that the clicking noise has nothing to do with the work they do on the car and they say everything is tightened from what they can see. So I say okay, and call the dealership to have them check out my car again. I was able to make an appointment for the next week (which was this week 8/22/22). So after dropping my car off for only about an hour they were able to pinpoint the issue. I receive a call and the receptionist tells me that the mechanic immediately noticed that my axel was loose again and that some bolts were loosened under my car. He immediately noted that this was likely caused by a Vavoline oil change (of which I never mentioned where I get my oil changes before). I said wow that's crazy because I do go there for my oil change. I was told that when the guys at Vavoline go under to drain the old oil they are loosening the bolts messing up the connection with the axels under my car and are not tightening them or aligning them correctly. Apparently this is a common issue that they have seen with other customers and they wanted to share that reality with me. This trip to the dealership cost me another $155. So at this point I'm almost at $700 work of dealership trips to correct damage done by oil changes done at Vavoline. I have other stories but I will leave it at the last few trips. At this point I feel like I need to reimbursed for my troubles and lack of care put in with the service. Not only are the oil changes cheaper at my dealership, I can guarantee I will not have issues following each oil change. I am disappointed and very frustrated but learned a HUGE lesson. I will never bring back my SUV to any Valvoline again. And from reading other reviews I realize I should have done more research before getting myself into this mess. 1/10 I would not recommend. The only plus is that you do not need an appointment and the service is quick. I clearly see now the issues that come along with "quick" service. Run me a refund for my last 2-3 oil changes at the least! That will over a portion of my dealership bills! read more

Hey, here's an idea, why don't you take the initiative and contact me? I came to this location to receive an oil change on February 15, 2021 12:45 pm. while waiting our turn in line another vehicle cut ahead of us. upon speaking with a service member he argued that he has Camera evidence that the person who cut the line was first. which is untrue. 2 other service members saw us here 1st and one said that he would make sure we were taken care of. I don't want this to be a racial issue but it's evident that the line cutter is Caucasian and we are American blacks. I asked to see the camera footage in which case I was told I'm not allowed to see it. at this point he turned saying he wasn't going to argue. the point is the customer service pertaining to the situation is dissatisfaction. and I will be following up with a corporate complaint with the service man Alex. the Golden rule is to treat others as you wish to be treated. Love this place as you can get in and out in a very timely manner. I do not want to spend my weekend spending it getting an all day car service just for an oil change. The workers at this location are very pleasant and helpful. Keep in mind, Lube Express can not do all of the work that your car needs. Please check your manual and take the car for service for the items that they can not do. I personally like to go to the dealer for mostly everything other than oil changes. I like my cars running top notch (the way the manufacture made it). If looking for a quick job and done right, this is the place to go. Needed an oil change before vacation. Always choose valvoline every 6 weeks oil changed since I drive that much. They changed my brake light with car running and lights on. Than told me to turn off car. Changed oil started or tried to start car nothing placed jumping cables on started didn't want me to turn off again but I wanted to see My oil level since last 2 times no oil on stick. Had to jump again. This is a new battery. Told me to keep running for 15 min when I left. Made it across the street drop dover mall lost steering brakes and car turned off no power. Seriously not even 1 mile away what did they do to my car 3 mins after oil change now my car is completely not working very disappointed and upset. read more

I tried coming in to get my oil changed on my car on twice in the past few days and both times they were a little busy. But both days they had a giant brown dog tied to a white car in the back of the store. When I tried getting out of my car the dog started barking really loud and trying to get off the leash. I am terrified of big mean dogs. when I come to get service done on my car, I don't expect to be greeted by a large barking dog. This is a horrible way to run a business. I will no longer attempt to get my oil changed with Valvoline. No one came out to greet me and I was too afraid to get out of my vehicle to go inside and ask for assistance. Let me start this off by saying I'm not one to really write a review about a store or company about there service but for this one time I had to make an exception. I went in this morning for a simple oil change, my deciding factor to come here was specifically to use a $25 coupon I found on there website to help out with the cost. After the continuous hassling to upgrade and get my radiator fixed I finally gave in to kick out the extra cost. After about 30 minutes from looking under my hood for some odd reason they did not have the proper tools and could not change my Oil filter at "Valvoline oil change". After the hiccup on there end they still charged me for oil and wouldn't let me use the valid coupon I brought because of a mistake that happened on there end. Now I have to waste money for a job that could've been done the first time. read more

I ignored my oil light for weeks due to the pandemic but finally today I stopped in to have my car serviced. I didn't really know what ot expect, this first day of mandatory mask wear but this was truly a no-contact event. When I first pulled in, everyone was masked and gloved and I was instructed to only roll my window down about 4 inches. The closest I came to another person was right at the beginning when she had to open the door with the scanner. The receipt was mailed directly to my email so there was no contact at all. The entire process took 35 minutes and they rotated my tires. I appreciated their compliance with the mask order and although I use this store every time I need an oil change, I wanted to give them a shout out so they know they are appreciated!!!!! read more

Went in for my oil change in my 2015 Acura...my car has 34K miles on it. They stated that I had a transmission leak and started to go over what they could do to correct it. I stopped her and told her my car was under factory warranty and I would contact Acura. After leaving, I went straight to the local Acura dealer who put my car on the lift and gave it a detailed exam...They stated there was NOTHING wrong with my car and that Valvoline is notorious for doing things like this as a way to "up-sell" customers. WAY TO GO VALVOLINE! Customer retention at its best! Not only did I waste cash for the extra look from Acura...but I also wasted a good portion of my day FOR NOTHING! I will NEVER be back! This location has some of the poorest service I have ever received at a Valvoline. I have been a loyal customer to Valvoline's locations for years and this is the most disorganized location I have been too. It's not uncommon to wait for an nearly to get seen here during busy hours it is worse. I left after an oil change and my truck developed a burnt oil smell, check under the hood and sure enough there is oil on my motor. This was after having to change lanes at this location twice and damaging my side view mirror just to get in due to the lane changes. I would rather do the work myself then return to this location. read more

I'd much rather go here than a dealership or even the Jiffy Lube down the street. It's faster and they do a decent job at explaining everything you need done. They've never pressured me to get any service other than the one I'm asking for. They will make suggestions, but that's all it is. Give them a shot, you won't even have to get out of the car and you see everything the technicians are doing (except the guy under your car, obviously). Don't listen to these other 1 star reviews, there's a common thread among them (you can figure it out). If you want a quick oil change, this is the quickest place in town. read more

I visited this location in hopes to save on an oil change, using the coupons in received in the mail. Well first when I pulled in I asked the young lady if I could use my 10 dollar off conventional oil change coupon she said yes. I asked how much was that she said 41.99 or something like that, so im like 10$ off that, not bad.Then she proceeded with the first part of the service, then she tells me to wait a few mins the CSR will be over to talk oil to me. So another young man comes to me and says I have to get synthetic blend for 63.99. I said wait how much and he said it again, I said the dealership charges me 35.99 for that, I'm just going to go there..then he yells to another employee "did you drop the oil"...I'm like wait what does that mean..he stated I have no oil in my car, so I'm like why didn't you quote a price to me before you took the oil out of my car, this wasn't right. So he said I'm going to get the manager, I said ok.So she comes over like she was having a bad day, and I explained to her. She was like we can take 20.00 dollars off. I said ok even thought it still was more then I would have paid at the dealership, but I said ok.So she told the employee to stop everything and put everything back. So she did, then she begin to put 4 quarts of oil in my car. As she is doing this another employee comes over and starts asking me my info, the young lady called him and next thing I know oil is splashing everywhere, over him,my engine,my car and the all over the ground. I know she was embarrassed, I was embarrassed for her. So the MANAGER comes over and they start cleaning all the oil up, off my car, and engine. So she says don't charge him. And I said thankyou. So this experience could have been much better if there was some communication and the only reason I gave them one star because they didn't charge me. Went in today for an oil change and spent over an hour there on a slow day. Only one person ahead of me and still waited 30 minutes till I was taken. Once in I went through the usual upsell and then was told my tag lights were out. I told them to go ahead and replace figuring I wouldn't have to bother to do it myself. Much to my surprise I was charged $11.99 each for 2 lights. The bulbs would have cost $2.00 st the auto store. They didn't know how to get the bulbs out so the took the trunk apart and didn't even let me know what was going on. Also, my air filter wasn't in their system so they didn't bother even checking it. Was sitting in the car for a simple oil change for over 30 minutes. A lot of crew standing around talking while customers waited. The whole reason for going there is to get in and out as they are definitely not the least expensive place to go. I own 4 cars and have been taking them there for awhile. Needless to say they have lost a lot of business from me today. read more
