My car needed an oil change service, so I thought to find a place nearby instead of the one that I used to drive to in Burien, as gas prices have inflated, so finding a reliable shop nearby, felt like the right decision to make. I searched around and found this Valvoline location in Graham, super close to home. I arrived around 8:20 - 8:30 am, and there was only 1 vehicle in front of me receiving a service, so I strongly recommend going early to this location, as there is close to no wait time. One of the crew members greeted me, asking what service I am looking to receive for my vehicle, was very welcoming and cordial. Another crew member was standing by while the service was being done to create a free account with them, incase I decided to return for another service later on (which I will be doing). The service was fast and efficient, all crew members speaking to one another, for checks, leaks and anything else that may be going on. Everyone felt knowledgeable about their position, and it felt like a wonderful customer experience to see that type of teamwork. The individual that conducted the service to my vehicle was named Malleea, who did a fantastic job. Every step of the way from start to finish she let me know everything that was being done, checked lights, ensured I knew my oil quality after it was changed, and wished me a good day and to come back for any serviceable needs for my vehicle. To conclude, I hope this location receives a lot more business due to the level of professionalism that was displayed, carried out, and I pray that each of the crew members individual lives are enhanced day by day, with the positive impact they're making for the Graham community. I have been coming to this location numerous times over the past four or five years. They are consistently one of the most professional, service, oriented, and customer focused places I have ever been to. They have an attention to detail and a great vibe that exceeds normal expectations, and peaking with my very critical standards. Just today I came for a much-needed oil change, and also to ask if they could remove the loose under shroud that had started dragging. I hadn't said a word, but as I drove up, Technician Joshua saw my vehicle and his first words after a pleasant greeting and welcome was to assist with my problem. To me, that is a person with an eye on safety and preventative maintenance, both subjects dear to my heart. The customer representative Mo was extremely friendly when I called beforehand, sometimes the facilities don't have the specific oil needed for my car, she was very quick to check with the other technicians, and came back with a positive answer. I appreciate that extra effort because it saves me the frustration of pulling up, waiting in line, only to be told that I can't be serviced. I trust the excellent and very professional efforts of the Graham location, I've never had a bad experience, I know my vehicle is being serviced at a price and quality far better than other locations I've unfortunately trusted before here, and the people are top-notch. They communicate when it's gonna be a lengthy time, they let you know what you need and not try to upsell you, and their technical and tactical proficiency is second to none. Rather interesting oil change experience, I drove in and they got to work as they have before. I alerted the employee I had a Groupon as I have used them here before. After the service the employee scans the Groupon and it isn't accepted, I simply explained I've used them before, etc. not being rude or having attitude. I looked online, the same Groupon I've used. As I am doing this, another employee comes over and asked what was going on, keep in mind this is happening about a foot or so from my window. I can hear the employee whispering saying things like he's mad and angry at us, talking bad about me etc... I questioned them about this which made the situation worse and they immediately back tracked on their statements. I paid and drove away, after stopping at the store I finally went on my way home. About 10-15 minutes after driving home, I hear an odd noise from my car, I pulled over and my skid plate(metal covering for the bottom of a car that sits lower to the ground) was halfway hanging off and dragging on the ground. As you can imagine, I was upset and rather frustrated. I called, the manager answered and said they couldn't send anyone out to me, it would be best for me to drive back to the shop. She mentioned that I should try and secure it, but my car sits low to the ground I cannot secure the skid plate. I had to drive all the way back potentially causing damage to my vehicle and creating a safety hazard. They attached the skid plate fully and said nothing. No sorry, no we will make this right, nothing. I wasted time, gas, safety, miles, etc.... and nothing said nor nothing done. I contacted support, they passed my email onto the manager and I was supposed to get a response in 24 hours, it has been a few days and still have no response. read more

Pulled into a busy shop, to be attended immediately! There were cars in front of me but I was informed by a few employees my wait time. Not only was I able to be in & our within the hour.... they had me out within 30 minutes! Not intentional since they were checking my fluids & topping them off. They even let me know of other services they offered. Oil change was in the price range I was expecting. Ended up striking a conversation with a few employees. Only reason I haven't tried this place is because of my service plan already in play. But if I could choose, this would be the spot for sure !!!! read more

This place is absolutely awful. I spend over 45 minutes watching them try to replace windshield wipers blades on the car in front of me. Meanwhile 2 cars that got there after me go through. So after about an hour I finally get to where it is my turn. I was ready to get out of there, before I had to pitch my tent outside to spend the night. So there I was, they had no idea what kind of oil it took. Then they had to write some notes, and then they had a chat with a representative, Wait on the manager to do something because hes the only one that knows how to use the online chat function, and then they had to make some more notes, at this point I was fuming. I asked for my keys and left. It will be the last time I visit this place considering there is a Jiffy Lube not 3 miles from here. read more

Stopped here prior to a cross country road trip. The waiting was pretty long but went by fast. Despite having a difficult time changing my filter they finally got it taken care of and I was on my way. The next day I found a puddle of oil the size of a dinner plate underneath my truck. I had VIOC of Richland check it out and they said there was a problem with the drain plug torque. Now imagine had my drain plug rattled out on a road trip. My truck would be 100% dead. Richland fixed me up right away but I would never visit the Sumner location again. read more

I am not a car person. So I'm pretty happy that when I drove into Valvoline that they gave me an easy full car inspection and also let me know my car tire was completely flat (!). Like, cannot make it to the tire shop down the street kind of flat. Though they didn't have to; they helped me out completely and explained it all in a way so I would be able to understand. They took care of me way way above and beyond! Richard the manager was the best, he spent a lot of time with me making sure I was taken care of, and Herb was awesome too. I've been here multiple times and usually have a great service. When it came to resetting my oil light the gentlemen asked if we have ever done it before because it's very difficult for mazda and confusing. He then looked up how to do it and when i asked for how many miles and how many months he said I dunno I guess 5k and 5 months I'm not really sure. Megan didnt hesitate to get into the action and removed the bolts and filter from behind the wheel well on the top side while underneath they finished the rest. I went in last week to get an oil change for the first time here. It is close to where I live and they looked like they would get the job done fast. I pulled up and was able to get right in. They seem to prefer it if you stay in the car so you can be aware of everything going on. They even had cameras for you to see everything. I thought that was nice. The guy who was checking me in was very helpful and nice. However, the service tech who did the minor things seemed very new and didn't really seem like he knew what he was doing. I have a 2002 BMW 325ci with only 43000 miles on it so it is well taken care of. The car requires you to take the air intake off to reach the oil filter. He didn't know how to remove and had another tech come over to remove it. It requires taking off 4 grommets which are basically pried off with some pliers. Well, after the second tech showed the first one by demonstrating it, he left to work on another car. The first tech proceeded to remove the other grommets and then set the oil cap on it. He then just flung the air intake onto the ground with the oil cap. I thought this was really weird and seemed unprofessional. They rest of the oil change went off without any concern until they had to put the air intake back. I noticed the same first tech performing this and he honestly looked like he had no clue what he was doing. They shut the hood and I left. I went home to find that the air intake was loose still and 3 of the 4 grommets were gone. The one grommet wasn't even installed correctly as the air intake was essentially floating. I put it back in correctly but now I am missing 3 grommets. I was sent a survey to complete after my service and explained what happened to me. It asked if I wanted a call back from Customer Service which I said yes. They actually called back the same day however, it was honestly, one of the most pointless calls. The CSR asked what was the purpose of my callback and I said I was just responding to the survey question which said if I would be willing to take a call from a CSR. I told the CSR what happened and she said she will inform the regional manager. And that was it. No offer to replace the grommets or any type of rebate for the sub par service. Sorry Valvoline, but this is not how you retain customers after you deliver sub par service with inexperienced service techs. I will not be taking any of my cars back there. read more

Stopped at the Valvoline instant oil change location in Sumner, WA earlier today. When I got there both bays were occupied, and there were two cars waiting to be serviced, one in front of each bay door. When I pulled up, I stopped a ways behind the other cars because I was expecting an attendant to come out and point me to the line that would get me through the fastest. When an attendant finally did respond, I expected a greeting of some kind. Instead, he immediately started to berate me for not pulling up closer. When I told him that I was waiting for some indication of which door to pull up to, he rudely said "don't worry about it". This was the second time I've been to this location since Valvoline bought out Oil Can Henry's, and I was not at all impressed with the customer service and level of care I received the first time. After the attendant walked away, I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. The courtesy, customer service and quality of work at these locations has really tanked since Valvoline took over. I won't be going back, and I would recommend the reader to find another service provider. read more

This use to be a great place when it was Oil Can Henrys. I took my moms car in there 2 weeks ago and the guys were nice, seemed fine. Started getting this burning oil smell and small amount of smoke coming from engine. My husband checked and they had left the sludge stick at the front of the engine and closed the hood on it forcing it into the radiator. Took it back and 4 guys came over to help. They said come back tomorrow and the manager will replace the stick or go get one and replace it while we wait. Also replaced 1/2 quart of missing oil while we were there. Ok, sounds simple. Went back, 2nd time now and manager Scott came over, when i told him why we were there he said " i just got here and i dont have time to go get it. I will try in the next couple of days, i'll call you when i get it" WOW that is not good customer service. Break a part of the car, make it smoke and smell and loose oil and waste my time in what will now be 3 trips. DONT GO THERE! read more

Pulled into Valvoline today for my scheduled oil change. I had previously visited this spot and had an excellent experience. With that; and the email with coupons they send out to previous customers, I was back for more. I pulled up just after 5pm and was surprised to not have any line of cars ahead of me, straight into the service bay. I was greeted by numerous members of the team, including a friendly young woman that was at the computer to type in my info. As soon as she scanned my Vin and license plate she gave me some startling news. The last time I was at this location, the service tech put down the wrong mileage on my window sticker. She informed me I was actually good for another 3,000 miles with the synthetic blend I purchased during my last visit. She easily could have ignored this point, and charged me full price for an oil change. Instead; she offered to top off all my fluids and check tire pressure, before giving me a new window sticker with the correct mileage to return. 10/10 for the Valvoline crew in Sumner and will be coming back for oil changes from here on out. read more

First of all this mistake is on me! I went to this location a year ago and had a bad experience but I figured after this period of time and the way oil change locations change their manpower, I would try it again because I was too lazy to go to the dealership. I told the guys ahead of time that the skid plate that was installed on my F150 lariat had caused some issues in the past with the fasteners that they had to be gentle with them because they were part of the road noise sound package on a lariat. They assured me they knew about the skid plates and how to take them off and put them back correctly. By the time I drove up to my home 3.5 miles away I found after crawling under it that the fasteners were missing and the skid plate had been installed incorrectly. If you have time to go to the dealership,I strongly suggest it. Unless you have one of those old cars they can't hurt anyway LOL. I called the manager and of course they can't find the fasteners so I'm on my own for replacing them, shame on me. Beware! read more
