No joke, the team was on it, checking lights and fluids, and we had a break light out too. What's really cool, You don't even get out of the car. While I sat there I took a look around and felt like I was transported back to the 50s. The place was immaculate. The equipment clean, supplies meticulously stored, uniformed servicemen, polite and instructive. It came out to $98.00 but it was well worth it and I will come here each and every time. Brought our Jeep in for an oil change and fluid check. We purchased synthetic oil & they tried to tell us that we need to come back for an oil change at 3000 miles when the other places tell us 7500 miles for synthetic oil. It's been a few days and we noticed the Jeep was "overheating" come to find out they didn't top off the coolant or washer fluid. The coolant was almost completely empty. This is inexcusable and needless to say we will not return. I'd rather pay a mom & pop shop more money for quality & honest service. read more

Never have I ever gone somewhere and felt so completely and utterly disrespected in my whole life. As a woman I should not have to worry about being lied to just to get extra money out of me. Yes I am one of those girls who knows nothing about cars, but that does not mean you can just tell me lies to get me to spend more money. I had gone in to get an oil change on my 2010 Honda. They told me that because my car was over a certain amount of miles that I needed to start putting in the more expensive oil otherwise my car was going to explode. It scared me so of course I let them do whatever they needed to do. I ended up spending $90 dollars on just a basic oil change. After leaving I just felt like that wasn't right so I called my boyfriend and he said that it was not true and that they really could have just put in the regular oil. He called them to straighten things out and the guy that answered the phone had made rude comments about my appearance...to my boyfriend. As you can imagine it only made him more angry. I had such a horrible experience there, they were rude to my boyfriend, and when all was said and done they only refunded me about $30 bucks. I will never ever be going back here to get an oil change. The company clearly doesn't care how their employees treat their customers as long and they're making money. They just lost so much business. Neither I nor my boyfriend and our families will ever be coming here for any of our car service needs. read more

I have been using valvoline for years. The drive through service has been very convenient. The last couple times they check my AC and show me this little dial that has a needle pointing into the red zone. They tell me my AC needs service. But I didn't have a problem with the AC cooling. Right after that my AC quit quit working. I took it to the dealer. Their report was the port caps for checking the AC pressure were missing and one port is leaking and needs to be replaced. But the line connects from a tank to the compressor and they need to replace them. A relatively expensive repair and a day with out my car. The service manager at the dealer doesn't know what would cause the issue. Getting quotes from repair shops 2 mechanics told me the same thing. It was probably the gauge being used incorrectly and it damaged the rubber seals and they probably don't clean the gauge in between checks. Also that can introduce debris that can damage the seals. They are just rubber o rings . The last couple oil changes seems like the company is making the employees sell extra services to increase their business. Update I sent in the VIN as requested below but no follow up. Since then I had the repair made at a local repair shop. They pressurized the system to check for leaks. Charged me for a new port, evacuating the system and recharged with R134A. They couldn't tell why the charging port was leaking. The factory part didn't have a replaceable Schrader valve but the replacement does. They wouldn't blame valvoline but said it isn't recommended to connect gauges to the system while hot and running the pressure could be over 400PSI and the pressure could blow out seals, damage their equipment and or cause injury. But do to the age and mileage things fail. Was it just coincidence? read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. They ended up placing my battery in backwards which blew a main fuse. Ended up spending an extra $200 at another place to fix all the other problems they had caused. read more

Valvoline is the quickest oil change in town. Providing there isn't a long wait line to begin with. They're thorough, friendly and your best bet if time is a factor. The waiting room is pretty sparse, but there is complimentary coffee and free wifi! Who doesn't love that?! I had an oil change today - under 15 minutes - I'm amazed. If you go to Platinum down the street, you're looking at over 30, if you're lucky. read more

They recently changed to all drive through and it was fast freindly and they didn't try to upsell me on anything, which is always a plus.

Not going here again. If you're lookign for a fast oil change then this is the place..but if you're looking for a oil change that is done right go somewhere else. I have two things about this place that I had a problem with... 1) My car is a standard vehicle (manual) once he was done with the oil chnage he tells me I could use a change on my transmission fluid...so I looked at their price board and it said for a standard car $130..since I had extra money at the time I did it. I watched them do it by the way to make sure they actually did it after hearing about scams from places like these but good thing is I watched them drain it out and replace it. So now pricing comes around $30 oil chnage +$130 transmission change = $160 + taxes. Well this wasn't the case from the print out the girl got from the guy who changed my oil put automatic transmission which is $260! so my bill came out to be around $300! I was quickly said..."This is wrong" The guy told me that's how much a transmission fluid change was I said "Really? Well that pricing board says otherwise" He pretends to type in the computer and says "Oh you're right" I'm thinking to myself "Seriously? You work here, you do like 5 different things for cars and you can't rember the total of 10 prices you use at this place" I completly think he was tryign to scam me out of money and I'm glad he looked like an idiot in front of everyone. 2) I'm driving home after this debacle and as I'm going down the hill I hear this metal grinding sound. Now I was really livid. I pull over into a nerby parking lot and I look under my car and what do you know...my exhaust pipe wasn't put back in the holes so it was bouncing all over the place... Needless to say...don't go there if you want your car messed up. read more

I went to go for an oil change, the guy inspects the Air filter. Tries to get me to buy a new one. I say No thank you. All of a sudden they can't get my car turning back on & theres a check engine light now. And he's talking about an ignition CoilSo I had to get it towed out of there to my mechanic that says when they took out the air filter they clipped a wire somehow..Ripped something out. Got it fixed for an extra 40$. They messed up big time. Save yourself time & money & go to an actual Mechanic. Not to mention the manager wanted to debate with me about the issue. Point is I brought my car in running perfectly fine & now all of a sudden it doesn't want to turn over???? Doesn't make sense. Not sure if I'll get reimburst for their mistakes, but we'll see read more

Get ready for the attempted sales pitch to the tune of 500.00 up-sell. Just your atypical quick lube joint where evidently we always need to do the transmission, power steering, front and rear differentials, wipers etc.... Very surprised that they don't try and sell you the air they put in your tires. Will not be returning to another Valvoline for the foreseeable future. read more

Took a car that I just bought and these people told me the car was leaking oil from several places, but would not show me. They ganged up on me telling me all about how much experience they have with cars, I said I didn't see any leaks and they told me to take it to Tom's Auto Repair and he would be able to fix it. I said if I can't see a leak how do I know it is leaking? There were three of them insisting that the Power Steering, Transmission and Oil Pan were leaking. I saw no leaks myself. It is a manual transmission, I said, where is it leaking? On little guy who said he had been working on cars since he was 16, and now he is 36, said it is leaking from both the transmission, all the seals, and the differential. I see no leaks at all. read more

DON'T FALL INTO THE PIT . Just had the WORST experience ever getting my oil changed. NEVER AGAIN will I go to Valvoline. After servicing my car, I was pinned in by a truck in front, and the waste oil big rig behind me. The service guy said back out, I did, turning my wheel to avoid hitting HIM and to get past the big truck , the front wheel FELL INTO THE PIT. My little car went CLUNK. The employees and manager all immediately freaked out and went into SAVE BUTT mode, telling me "YOU DIDN"T FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS" . They immediately told me to get out of the service bay, wait in the waiting room, while they nonchalantly came up with their plan to blame me. They managed to lift my car, back it up, drive it around to the front, never APOLOGIZED or anything. By the time I got home I realized the front end was badly out of alignment. I called and was yelled at by the manager, Andrew Patnaude, that that was MY FAULT and no, he wasn't going to do anything for me. He called corprorate HQ pretty darn fast, for someone who was not feeling guilty, and filed a report saying that they had a witness statement. WHAAAT? I was told by VALVOLINE HQ in Kentucky to contact their legal department. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DEAL WITH A COMPANY THAT ACTS LIKE THIS TO A LONG TERM CUSTOMER? ? There are plenty of other oil change establishments in Torrington. Go elsewhere. $84 for a Toyota Yaris oil change. And that was with a COUPON! Yippee. And yes, they tried to sell me everything under the sun. And no, I will not ever go near these nasty people again. This is a small town. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Open pits in the service area are a hazard. They want you to think its a FEATURE that you get to drive your own car into and out of the bays. This is corporate bullshit. When you call, you get a looooong advertisement of the "feature" of being able to stay in your car. Methinks this is a liability , why else would the Kentucky Headquarters be so fast to send me to their legal department? I was just looking for some help with the alignment cost - small claims court, here we come. GO TO ANY OTHER OIL CHANGE ESTABLISHMENT. How can you have customers backing up over open pits? While being blocked in by a truck? How am I supposed to know there is an open pit under the car? I didn't follow instructions, they are trying to say. How do you back up when there is a truck blocking your way? Really now. My car is damaged and I get to call Valvoline Legal Department. I don't think so. THERE ARE LOTS OF PLACES TO GET YOUR OIL CHANGED. Don't get ripped off and insulted, to boot. read more

Had my oil changed here - they put semi-synthetic oil in without asking (aka more expensive) and later, after smoke starts coming out from under the hood, I find out they didn't tighten the oil filter. If this falls off, your engine will be ruined in a minute or 2. I've heard so many stories about this happening at Jiffy Lube & Valvoline & all the quick-change big company places.... I'll stick to my local mechanic from now on. Very friendly people but not great with cars ;) read more

I normally go down the street but surprisingly they didn't have any more 10-30w so I went here to Vavoline. They changed my oil in my 1998 Mazda truck that's tan in record time the staff were all professional and courteous especially the girl at the register her name, " Monique" a Spanish lady with a very beautiful smile she actually made my experience outstanding as she was so polite . I am very picky when it comes to my vehicles so don't hesitate to go here a bit more expensive than from down the street but all in all a great one. Now back to "Monique she is really catching to the eye and tall almost wish I wasn't married I would be compelled to take her to a nice sit down dinner at some ambiance restaurant and so on. read more

Very disappointed with their service. Just had an emissions testing done. Car passed no problem, but when I went out to the car,I saw that carpeted floor mat was marred with black grease. No paper mats were used. They did a poor attempt to clean it,when I got home I also noticed grease on the interior door handle.Great timing week before Christmas when everyone is busy. read more

Worst experience ever !! Brought a 1992 Saab in for an emissions test ( per DMV this was the place to go). It took 5 techs a 1/2 hour to figure out it was front wheel drive, they were under the hood( for emissions ?), they stalled the car 5 times during the testing. Left there and 5 miles down the road car quits in middle of traffic and starts smoking. Police, fire trucks and tow trucks needed. $350 in repairs plus the cost of tow ($135) later. The Mechanic who always has worked on this car states they disconnected wire to distributor cap when they were under hood, this caused the car to run on less cylinders and caused the block to over heat. He states we r lucky we didn't get hurt and lucky the car is salvageable. We called and spoke with manager, Mr. Lush. He states he will look over the tapes ( yes, they video tape all work- makes one wonder why, hmmm). A week later, and no word from the manager. DO NOT USE THIS VALVOLINE, TRUST ME, IT WILL COST YOU DEARLY! read more

These people are very quick with the oil changes and I went here several times. However, the last time I was there I also had them put new windshield wipers on my car. The next time I went to use the wipers, they were not working properly - the fastest setting was now extremely slow, and the next slowest setting did not work. Eventually the wipers stopped working altogether. I went back and they told me that it couldn't have been anything they did, and that there was nothing they could do to fix it. I had to bring the car to the dealer and pay $100 (the rest was covered under warranty) to have them repaired. If it was just a coincidence, I find that mighty odd when the wipers were working just fine before they did anything to them, and I had never had that problem before (or since, now that I haven't gone back there). The car was only about 3.5 years old. My brother-in-law, who works on cars, did say that if they yanked on something it could have damaged the motor, which is what actually did turn out to be what the problem was. Unfortunately, there was no way to prove this, so I'm out $100 due to their screw-up. I am giving 2 stars only because the people who worked there were very courteous. However, I will never go back. I would recommend this place if all you care about is fast service, and don't mind paying a whole bunch of extra $$ every time they screw something up on your car. These people don't seem to know what they're doing. read more
