Had a very good experience here. The "low tire pressure" light came on in my car and I called my usual mechanic (Modern Tire) and they said they were full for the day but suggested I call Goodyear. I called them and they were nice on the phone, had me come down and we found out the back tire was low on air. They filled it up for me to get to work and I made an appointment to come back that afternoon. They patched the tire in a timely manner and were very nice to work with. read more

They were professional and courteous. The window mechanism on my car broke at the most inconvenient time. I was mad at first because they fixed it a year ago. I called to make an appointment, and they got me in the next morning. I came in with the receipt from last time. They said it was still under warranty so they didn't charge. When I got my car back, they had also adjusted tire pressure and recalibrated the windows. Everyone involved along the way was courteous friendly and helpful. read more

I thought i needed four tires however the service technician check my tires and realize i needed only two which was good news to me since i am retired and on a fix income. The store did not have the tires i needed so it was ordered somewhere else and was installed by Goodyear and getting a front-end alignment. The price and service were great; the salesperson Matt Sarmiento was friendly and courteous. The front-alignment which was done by Raymond Robles was done well leaving the car not pulling on any side and the steering wheel setting straight. I will be returning for more service. read more

they did a great job in a very timely fashion I have had bad experiences at other shops but not here they preformed an oil change brake pads new tires and rotors front and back all in the same day on short notice they used good tires and parts not some cheap old used beat up garbage lastly they got the job done right on the first time I didn't have to go back and I am a satisfied and happy customer read more

Took my car to them yesterday, the owner was extremely adamant about me sitting in the office... Where I could not see what was happening with my car. Happened to realize today that my rims are not the rims I had on my car when I took it in. There's glue on them they are disgusting and they are all scratched up. Like I took a video of my car 4 days ago and they ARE NOT THE SAME!!!! Called spoke to the owner which he asked me where I took my car I gave him the address and he quickly changed his toan of voice when I asked him what he was going to do he said nothing. So I responded with wow Ook I wouldn't be coming back and hung up. The owner then proceeded to call me 2 times and I refused to answer. If this is how they are successful I hope nobody does business with them again! So because I'm a woman and I showed up alone they thought I wasn't going to catch that! Big mistake! I ordered rims threw an auto body shop that went threw them and was strung along for 4 days waiting on my purchase. After flat out lying to me for days about my rims being on the way( btw the shop is in hartford and the place they ordered the rims from is also in hartford) they finally tell me I can come in and get my rims and tires...3 hours later and I am still sitting here waiting for my rims and tires. One rim was cracked but they ordered a replacement for me fairly quicc. They do good work, just not to fast about it..... read more

I took my SUV to Goodyear Auto Service in West Hartford, CT. for a simple brake job, and I had a terrible experience at that Goodyear.The Mechanic found serveral problems with my vehicle which he attempted to repair. After trying to repair other parts of my vheicle he broke two other parts, which cost me hundreds of dollars to repair. The Staff appeared to be poorly trained in working on SUVs. I would not recommend this Goodyear Shop to anyone,because the service and prices are outrageou and very near to criminal. read more

Made an appoint for an oil change and tire rotation online. Showed up at my appointment time and stood in the waiting room for 10 minutes without anyone ever coming out. Eventually I went a knocked on the General Manager's door. Took him another 5 minutes to finally come out. When he did they didn't have my appointment even after showing him my confirmation email. Goodyear on New Britain Ave in West Hartford took me as a walk-in the afternoon prior to snow to change to winter tires. Work was good, but about half way through my 3 hour wait, manager came over to inform me that brakes needed replacing. Told me that would be "$450, hmm, no $550." Although this was already quite high, knew brakes to be slightly worn though OK for a while. Needed car for possible emergency, gave approval. Final charge was $810 for brake services and tire changes. Believe I was given "clip Joint" treatment. Manager would not provide copy of estimate. Believe women unaccompanied and others in a tight spot should definitely avoid this shop. read more

brought my daughters SUV in for a brake check since her fluid was very low and thought she needed brakes as the pedal was going to the floor they said brakes were ok and but needed to get rid of some rust on them and some other BS and charged her 300$ her brakes were exactly the same when she got it back and took to another shop and the whole brake line had rusted out and she was leaking fluid badly and could barely stop vehicle!! I can't believe they let a vehicle leave their shop and not once did they mention complete rust underneath vehicle! my daughter could have been in a terrible accident! pls don't go to the shop they will scam you! read more

I would AVOID Goodyear in West Hartford/Elmwood at all cost. My front rotors needed replacement. They tried to charge me over $900.00 for a full front brake job. When I refused, they said could do it for $500.00. That was over the phone. But the written quote they gave me was for over $600.00. I took it to Firestone in Cromwell and they replaced the rotors for $380.00, parts and labor. Car runs great. read more

They did fine, but I'll never cease to be amazed by how any tire dealer will find ways to upcharge you. Overall, the deal I received on four 65,000-mile tires, mounting, alignment, lifetime balancing, and lifetime tire rotations was very good. $440 out the door... But it wasn't as good as you're initially led to believe. The tires were $83 a piece, and I had a "Buy 3 get 1 free" coupon. So the final total is gonna be somewhere close to $265 with tax, right? Wrong. Here come the labor charges and other unexpected fees. $16 per tire for balancing, which is a deliberate overcharge... Wal*Mart does it for $5 a wheel. $24 extra because my car has Tire Pressure Monitoring... something Town Fair does for free. And of course, the alignment, which is not included with the purchase. Another $70 out the window. Again, the total wound up at $440. But you know what? I priced out a 65,000-mile tire at Town Fair, and the price would have been nearly identical, and that DOESN'T include lifetime balancing. Other places would have charged even more, including Firestone and Mavis. So that's the story, not just about Goodyear Tire, but all tire centers. No matter which way you slice it, you're gonna pay for your tires and lower end maintenance. read more

review for : GOODYEAR AUTO SVC CTR #0338 I honestly thought I found place I could depend on. Here is my story, my $0.02 I checked them on tire rack and they have great review, so I thought why not. On Feb 27th I went in and placed order for 5 Michelin tires (LTX M/S2), I wanted this specific tire as it is for long daily commute and I needed to feel good about tires. Order was easily placed and price was matched with online "tire rack" price. Shipping was to be $10 for whole order. I was actually happy about everything. Then manager, (Shawn or something like that) called tire rack and confirmed availability in CT (15 miles from us in warehouse). He, manager, promised that tires will be here tomorrow, Feb 29th 2013. I did not need them next day, but we made appointment for Sunday March 3rd (today as of writing this review). Manager promised to call me if anything goes wrong and they are not in by March 1st, which I thought WOW, great service. Reason for this scheduling importance is that I need to take care of tire stuff with 2 small children with me, or find someone to watch them while getting tire stuff done. So I was at location @ 8:50am, they open @ 9am. I needed to be there 1st and get job done. :o( Manager showed up and we went to get job done. After few minutes manager returns and said no tires are here, but "I can have them on Monday @ 10:30". WTF, that was not part of deal or agreement or anything. His excuse they were never shipped. My response "I thought YOU were getting them your self". Anyhow, lesson learned, I should have trusted my gut feeling, no "GOODYEAR AUTO" has ever been anything but a bunch of A$$holes. As I have already committed to buy tires from them, I will return on March 5th as manager once again promised to have them waiting for me. 2013-03-06 Update, as I had to return for tires. This time tires were in stock, local person went to get them himself, as he did promise he would, only 5 days later. Installation went fine, however 1 hour became 2 hours. I guess it is not possible to install tires in 60 min, so this item I had to accept as car was in their garage and had wheels off. I do have to return for tire re-balance, as car is shaking at HWY speed. Once again I am not sure if this is normal to have to return for tire balance, as I thought their "special" equipment should have done this during installation. read more

Customer service was excellent and understanding of my time crunch. Inspection was thorough and my flat tire issue was resolved in less than an hour. Went to Goodyear because my car was having some issues when driving. It was shaking a bit and because I got a new tire put on I assumed it was an alinement issue. I bring my car and they take me right away (great). I receive a call about 30 minutes later and they let me know that my strut is broken and quoted me at 850 for two new front struts. I decided to stick with just the alinement. I took my car to my friends shop and they didn't even have to touch the struts. It was a completely different problem and they fixed my car for much cheaper. Not ever going back. read more

The guys at NAPA Auto down the road sent me to these guys after calling them to see of they could program my Eschelon NAPA sensors (not re-learn, but program as they are blank) and they took on the challenge immediately. When i got here the man at the counter was very nice and helped me right away. It was about min. for my oil change but no big deal I sat and watched law and order which made the time go by quickly. $28 and i got the tires balanced and rotated as well. I had a nail in my tire and I needed it repaired or changed quickly the next day because I was going out of town. I could not find anyone who had availability early in the morning the next day besides this Goodyear location. I scheduled my appointment easily online and when I arrived, I was greeted and the guy working the counter was very helpful and polite. Goodyear was not only able to repair my tire, but they did it for FREE. And they were quick. Highly recommend. read more

This place just wants to rip you off. I am usually a patient person, but they are straight up liars who just want to charge you as much as they can, without actually completing the service properly. I went in with new tires, asking them to complete a swap, and to replace all four tire valve stems, since one was leaking air. They claimed everything was completed, and I paid, but a few days later I noticed my tire was getting flat again. I went back and told them the valve stems clearly weren't replaced as they said they were, and I overheard the guys in the back complaining that I was back. They offered to change the valve stems for free this time (obviously, I paid for them already!), but couldn't get me in until way later in the day. Basically, they've wasted my time, lied about their services, and caused a huge inconvenience. Would not recommend at all. read more

Do not use these people. Liars AND total assholes. We called two hours ago to see if they could inspect a car our teenager was thinking about purchasing. Drove 35 miles up here, saw the car, liked it and drove it over to Goodyear to be inspected and they refused. They refused even though they had literally not one car or customer on the premises. Then they followed up by telling us it that even if they could look at it it would be $110. That isn't anywhere nesr what they said on the phone. read more

While driving around West Hartford my van picked up a large screw in front tire and immediately started to leak. Drove towards Elmwood looking for a service station and found this place where we met amazing, happy, friendly, kind an generous Harold. While fixing the tire the tech. actually found a second puncture from a nail that was still in the tire. Harold promptly brought me into the service bays to show me the issue(s), and discuss repair options. After a prompt repair, our van was driven curbside for us, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a "NO CHARGE, $0.00" balance on the invoice. We asked Harold about this, and he simply stated "this one's on us, keep us in mind in the future when you need tires", and he then wished us a safe ride home! In this age of sub-par customer service, a lack of "old school" courtesies, and simple niceties, Harold was a breathe of fresh air. When we need tires in the future, we will definitely return to the Elmwood Good-Year service center, and return the courtesy extended to us by Harold and his crew. Honesty and courtesy never go out of style- well done! read more

I had two new tires put on at Goodyear and shortly thereafter I noticed a grinding noise coming from the same two tires (cv joints broken) and so I brought it back to find out if the bad cv joints was something caused by any work they had done. They said if it was their fault there would be no charge. They called me back about 30 minutes after I dropped my car off and it apparently wasn't their fault and what they wanted to charge to repair it was much more than I was willing to pay. So I went to pick up my car and they charged me $116 for a diagnostic fee of something they could've easily seen when they have my tires off and that I could've just looked behind the wheel and diagnosed myself. I am a young girl and feel very much like I got taken advantage of. You'd think that if there was a chance the problem was their fault they would have some grace and not charge so much for something that took less than a half an hour of their time. read more
