Absolutely horrid customer service. Called over the phone asked the same question I did multiple different jewelers just for the man on the phone to laugh at me hysterically. I've been to plenty of different jewelers over the course of my life, and never have I been disrespected in person or on the phone. What a joke considering the reviews I should have expected it. Regardless of what a lot of people are saying and I can understand what they're saying, I brought in a bracelet to be sized and it went quite well I'm very happy with the results. However I have been to this store and the one on Southern I believe that's in Royal Palm Beach, and I have had a couple of experiences I wish I did not have. That pertains to mostly one of the employees that worked there at the time. I specifically went to the Wellington store to avoid that individual and was glad I did. Everything went well, however the employees could have been a little bit more congenial but as long as the job gets done right the first time and the price is reasonable I will continue to patronize this particular store. read more

I brought in a ring to be resized. It was done lightning fast and they called me the day after I dropped it off to let me know it was ready for pick up. They polished it and gave it a coating of rhodium. I am thoroughly impressed. The ring looks good as new. The lady taking in the order is very friendly, personable and nice to deal with. Do Not Go to this Jewler. I took my diamond stud earrings to the Lox store to change my posts, and they switched my diamonds out and replaced them with garbage! I went there yesterday and the store is closing, the employee was fired and the owners son is apparently out of the country. They said my earrings were repaired at the Wellington location. There isn't anything I can do, the store owner said to us, prove it. Which is basically impossible. I am so absolutely devastated that someone would do this. read more

I used to use this jeweler for all of my needs. Resizing, cleaning and not to mention purchases. However. I have gone there three times over the last six months to have items repaired and cleaned and was denied. Yes, I understand there where customers ahead of me, all 3 times, and on my last attempt was told by, April, my used to be "go to" sales person, she had seen me there the past times, maybe not all 3, but in the past. She explicitly requested I make an appointment for the services I needed. So, according to their instructions I called and TRIED to make an appointment. They asked when I called what I needed done, when I said repairs, since I have 15 or more items for repair, I didn't get the question, I'm not a jeweler. When I told them it was "repairs" April's associate, I forget the narcissists name, and she continued to brow beat me on specifics. When I told her she was the person who told me to make the appointment, she told me I was cutting her off on the phone and I was being rude. Since when is the customer being interviewed for a job or a being chastised for trying to obtain a simple appointment SHE SPECIFICALLY ASKED ME TO MAKE. When I was last there, my third time, held up my bags of repairs and tried to show them to her, she stated, "just call for an appointment". Never did she say I needed to know the vernacular nor the reason for the vernacular when just bringing in items for repair. April stated "we can't take an appointment until we know how much time the repairs are going to take". WHAT????? Have you ever heard of anything so ridiculous in your life. I mean am I living in an alternate universe. Should I work there and just do their work for them. Or is it, they feel they are above repairs and are only and as April stated to me " we have engagement rings to size and my job may interfere" last time I remember, engagement ring sizing CAME WITH THE PRICE OF THE RING. Then again I don't have any clue as to the industry name for my repairs. Obviously my 157 IQ has failed me. Is it not reasonable to assume, the store would take the items, let me know the cost and time frame for said repairs after they, the jewelers, looked at the items and TOLD ME WHAT THE COST WAS AND THE TIME FRAME? How does this look like anything else other than a repair scam??? They advertise repairs but have no intention of doing them. Of course unless it's monetarily abhorently advantageous to them. And of course I understand that but am I also supposed to be responsible for what needs to be done from the get go. You know after the repairs, if I studied and absolutely knew everything I thought the jeweler knew, and it wasn't correct would they also blame me for my lack of knowledge. This place is a rip off and a nightmare and A SHITSHOW. BY ALL MEANS GO SOMEWHERE ELSE and I never thought 2 years ago I would be saying anything about this place like this. But please, believe me when I tell you, call and see for yourself. But wait a month to get a TRUE accountability of what they are about and not just their knee jerk reaction to this post!!! Its a shame but it's the truth, and I have purchased at least one diamond bracelet from these individuals in the past. I wasn't looking for any special favors, just plain old SERVICE, but this treatment is ridiculous. I never even got the chance to ask when the items would be ready. But obviously if I had been to their shop twice before, regarding this request, and never got that far, its obvious I wasn't in a hurry, but possibly their repair jeweler is? I have been to the Wellington location a few times. Customer services was always not great. The older gentlemen behind the counter can be a bully. I took my rings in for sizing and cleaning, with zero complaints. About a year ago I took my engagement ring in for a repair (one of the diamonds in the band had popped off). I took it in, had no issues, or so I thought. I recently had a similar issue but decided to take to a different jeweler. My ring is all natural diamonds, no lab grown diamonds. I went to a new jeweler today for repair and cleaning. They checked my diamonds( scanned and able to print out a photo), and the diamond that was repaired by VanDell was replaced with a lab grown diamond. It was clear as day, the entire ring was flawless except for the one diamond that was repaired. I was never asked on preference for the diamond that was changed. But for something like that to happen is very cheap, and shady for a business to to allow that to happen. Jewelry is personal, and you're supposed to trust your jeweler. My mother was also a customer, and got her pearl necklace restrung. It broke within a year. Needless to say this location has gone down hill. I won't bring my business back, and will not recommend this location again. Be very cautious if you walk through the doors of this establishment. read more

Owner Jack Van Dell might be the most deplorable individual I've ever met, not only did he make off color remarks to myself, but also my parents in regards to receiving my watch back. The situation worked this way: he had to send the watch out to repair the crystal cover and in turn he told me a number of different times I would receive it back. After the back and forth claims continued I asked to just get the watch back. In turn the derogatory comments ensued and the watch was never repaired even though it had been out for a little over three weeks. As he blurted out upon my exit, "maybe I need thicker skin," maybe he needs to show a little bit more class. I have been using the jeweler for a long time and after this incident I will never shop there again. read more

I've been to the one in Wellington and had a great experience and knew I'd be back with more business. However, this time I called the one in Loxahatchee and I got the old cranky man other reviewers have mentioned. He is indeed cranky! Shockingly cranky. - Zero Stars My wife had her diamond studded wedding band in for service as one of the studs fell out. In stead of just replacing the stud the jeweler convinced her that the entire 6 rows of settings were loose and they needed to be built up. Upon completion the ring was not repaired as described nor looked close to the original. When she voiced her displeasure it was abruptly dismissed with zero offer for refund or repair back to original. Upon speaking with the supposed owner in Wellington he was completely dismissive, rude, and nasty telling us that he was "talking to a wall" as he was frustrated because he could not explain their inability to fix the ring. He also wanted to know if we were Christian as if it had anything to do the situation. If they would have told us they couldn't fix it to our detailed request we would have immediately went elsewhere respecting the decision. We took the ring to a competitor who told us we were taken advantage of, as the ring did not need to be completely overhauled, the work was below par and that they should have refunded our money! I would discourage anyone from using Van Dell services, buying anything there as they can only back up their shabby work with arrogance and unprofessional rude behavior! read more

Thank you for taking the time to fix my son's eye glasses. He broke them beyond repair and our only chance of survival was having them soldered. We know this is only a temporary fix as he needs new ones but in order to see, he needed those until his new ones arrive. Do not hesitate to go to Van Dell for all of your jewelry needs...and then some! BTW...they didn't charge me for the repair. That is excellent customer service!
