The good I was working across the street and decided to stop by this shop to get some birthday flowers for my mom. The owner is very sweet and helpful. I got chrysanthemums for $3 per stem. I liked that the flowers were protected by a net so that the petals wouldn't fall off. I also got a bunch of interesting orange flowers for $10. The owner used multiple bags to secure the bottom of my stems with water so they wouldn't wilt in my car and gave me a box to keep it stabilized. She took her time and I appreciated that. I saw black calla lilies. Those are flowers I never see sold in regular grocery stores. The fridge area with flowers was small but packed with flowers. The bad The doors were locked when I came and were opened after the owner saw me. I think they typically take phone orders and not walk-ins. They don't have ready-made bouquets or potted plants but they do have ready-to-buy orchids. I think there's street parking only. The interesting: Cash is preferred. read more

While the circumstances weren't the best- I was in need of funeral arrangements- the experience was 5 star and she made a difficult task bearable with her warmth and kindness- she even talked to me about my experience and gave me some words of encouragement. Really touching and customer service/ human connection at its finest. I ordered 2 floral stands, and I must say, they were so very beautiful- the best I've seen. The quality and presentation were amazing and our family was so happy. Her website was easy to follow- she has a ton of examples listed and will gladly customize based on your favorite colors etc. I'm not sure if she has a team /staff to help create her visions, they're spectacular and breathtaking and I'm amazed with how she can do it all by herself if so. She has a quaint store front. Easily accessible. Parking is along the street or just around the corner as well. Prices are reasonable and she helps identify what is within your budget. My first purchase I went in person to visit and after that it was super easy communication via text. Before delivery was included however now she does have to charge for delivery/ gas - I don't mind at all- gas prices are crazy right now! And I'm all up for supporting this place. It's really nice to see local businesses still around in SJ and I hope others can continue to support her as well. As I write this, I'm actually in the process of ordering additional flower arrangements for another funeral and was met with the same lovely customer service for the very first time. I recently had to order funeral flowers for a close friend's family. I found this place here on yelp and saw all the beautiful arrangements people posted. The owner took my order over the phone. I told her the arrangement I was looking at was one similar to one on her website but with a few different flowers and colors. I told her my budget and color theme. I first met co Van, the owner of Van Florist, in 2015. My grandma passed away on December 24, 2015 and our family needed to place four (4) orders of the standing sprays. By chance, I read a few good reviews from Yelp and decided to stop by the shop. Upon my arrival, I spoke with co Van about what I wanted in each of the spray. Co Van took the time to listen to what I had to say and then recommended a few things that I was unsure about. I gave co Van the date and location where the flower arrangements needed to be delivered to. I had to carry on many other funeral tasks and totally trusted co Van in delivering the flowers. On the first day of the visitation, the flowers were there even before I got to the chapel. I was so thankful to co Van for delivering four beautiful and elegant sets of sprays! They were the best looking sympathy flowers in the room! Fast forward to May, 2022. A friend of our family passed away due to a bicycle accident. We needed to send a sympathy and funeral arrangement on the first day of visitation. I stopped by the shop and spoke lengthy with co Van. At first, co Van was worried that it may be during the mother's day weekend; however, I told co Van that it would be after that weekend. I could see a sigh of relief from co Van. Although, I think even if it was on that weekend, co Van would still be able to help in fulfilling the order! That is just how co Van is - kind, helpful, and trustworthy! Co Van took time to learn about the relationship between our family and our recently deceased friend. Co Van took such care in thinking about what style/theme would work best for a spray for this friend! When I left the shop, I knew I did not have to worry about the flowers or the delivery because I totally trusted co Van to execute the order! As co Van promised, when I visited my friend on the first day of visitation, I saw the spray co Van delivered on an easel! It was elegant, beautiful, graceful, and glorious! The flowers and leaves were tastefully, artistically, and creatively arranged in a way that somehow exuded the warmth and comfort for those who stared at the arrangement! This past week I had my fathers memorial service. I feel like when we loose a loved one the last thing in our mind is planning a memorial and thinking about all the details that a funeral entails. I knew I wanted to give my dad a beautiful service but with most things in money always plays a factor. I decided to look for florists close to the venue and found this place on Yelp. I looked on their web site page and saw the different designs with pricing listed and was able to call the florist and tell her the style and color of arrangements I wanted. She also included writing on ribbons and was very professional and understanding. I went into the shop to make the payment and the shop owner is a sweet woman who wanted to make sure everything was important for this day. She kept me at ease and really ensured me that the flowers would be ready and delivered on time. As I was about to leave I saw a picture on her wall of a island girl holding a flower. I asked if I could take a picture of the lovely picture because it was so beautiful. This is a little off topic but I always feel like my mom would send me signs since her passing and since my dad passed I felt like it was my moms way of saying this is the right place and that they agree with my choices. (Little history my mom is islander and the picture had the island woman holding my moms favorite flower, so I definitively took it as a sign.) As I was about to leave the shop owner takes the painting off the wall and says I can have it. She said a present for your mom and dad. I literally began crying and hugged her. She didn't know what that gesture meant to me. Fast Forward to the funeral the flowers were beautiful and I couldn't ask for anything better.
