I don't leave reviews often, but Thien Lan Florist earned this one. I needed a fully custom bouquet put together and couldn't be there in person to pick it out myself -- a nerve-wracking thing to hand over to a stranger on the phone. They made it easy: walked me through exactly what they had in stock instead of pushing whatever was convenient, and worked with me over text with zero pressure when I needed to adjust the order to fit my budget. The end result spoke for itself -- she said it was one of the most beautiful bouquets she's ever received, and it genuinely moved her to tears. If you need something custom done right and can't be there to double-check it yourself, I'd trust these guys completely. read more

Probably the best bouquet I've ever ordered. Really great value. It's huge for its price! Service was phenomenal - the store owner was super responsive over text and treated me very warmly in-person. I had a cat so when I asked for no lilies or tulips in my bouquet at the very last minute, she was very accommodating to my requests. I've been a loyal customer for years and have regularly ordered anniversary arrangements, usually roses with lilies. Unfortunately, the quality has declined. The arrangements often look poorly put together and lopsided. More recently, my niece ordered a bouquet and received flowers that were clearly not fresh--some were already browning, and one even had a broken stem. This is very disappointing and not what anyone should expect when ordering flowers for a special occasion. Because of these repeated issues, I will be looking for a new florist. Returned here recently for two dozen roses, and they provided the same high-quality service as they did 9 years ago. They produced a a layered arrangement with a wealth of improvisational arrangement, and it looked like something you'd see in a Disney movie. Well above and beyond what could be expected at such a reasonable price. Can't recommend enough - great shop and great service. read more

I came in on a Saturday afternoon for a last minute bouquet of flowers where I met Minh and another lady who were so kind to help make one for me on the spot. They took care of everything and blessed me with a beautifully and wonderfully crafted bouquet, and it all for an amazing price. I was perplexed by the speed and the quality of their work that I had never had before when purchasing flowers. After talking to Minh, I found out why. Living here in the bay without my family, my friend's mom is the closest thing I have to a mother figure who I can visit in person. My friend often invites me to her home to for home-cooked meals during the holidays since I don't my family around to celebrate them with. From cooking bun bo hue to doing my nails for the first time ever, her mom always made sure I had a warm and good time. For that I appreciate her and wanted to get something for her this Mother's Day weekend. I have passed by this flower shop countless times because I used to get my hair cut in the My Linh Salon next door (its a small mom and pop shop with a cute old couple, great people btw), but I never went in. Today was my first time buying flowers from somewhere besides your local trader joes, costco, or safeway and I'm so glad I came here! From my understanding, they primarily do large flower arrangements for events. However, they accommodated for me and made me a nice little bouquet for $40. Honestly, I don't know how much flowers are supposed to cost, but to show my appreciation for my friend's mom, I think $40 is an amazing price to pay, especially since the bouquet came out looking so good! Will definitely be back for more if I ever need flowers, I recommend everyone to give them a visit if you need mother's day flowers! P.S. Highly recommend this florist! Had to search for a last-minute bouquet (needed in less than 24 hours) and they were so amazing in being able to accommodate my request! Purchase was extremely smooth and the bouquet came out so beautiful within a few hours of request/purchase. A stellar florist with beautiful flower arrangements!!! For Valentine's Day, I was scrambling all over the place for flowers to give my partner (men deserve flowers too!) and many florists were sold out 2-3 days before the 14th. Although I might be a major procrastinator, I'm glad that I am bc I was able to find Thien Lan Florist. I had contacted their number on their website and was redirected to Carolyn, who is amazing and kind by the way. I didn't want to gift the typical red roses and asked if there were any samples of blue arrangements. She promptly sent me a few samples and I was able to tweak an arrangement of light blue and white flowers to my liking. Thank you so much to Carolyn for making the ordering process seamless and easy!! My jaw dropped when I picked up the flowers, because they truly went above and beyond. I believe that Tracy arranged these together and she did a fantastic job. Please support this amazing florist and you won't be disappointed in the slightest! Procrastination at it's best. I waited until the very last minute to buy bouquets for 2 grads and was in desperate need of a place to make it ASAP. I miraculously found this hidden gem near my home! I called the owner and she allowed me to come in and pick out what I would like for each bouquets with her workers. Thuy was the one that created both these beautiful bouquets in less that 40 minutes. It was shocking on how fast she put these beautiful arrangements together. They came out way better than I expected! She was kind and very patient with me even though I was extremely last minute. I told her I needed one to survive until the next morning and she was kind enough to explain the floral care to me. I don't live in state and have to depend on pictures on floral websites to do orders, so needless to say, I've been burned by many florists whose website show one thing but they deliver something else (usually smaller and sadder looking). I called the number on the website and our communication was great via text. I gave her a list of bouquets I was interested in, she told me which ones she had available, I picked one and requested she replace any lilies or stems with significant pollen since the receiver has allergies. She delivered the next day! She did an AMAZING job! The arrangement looks JUST LIKE the picture on the website and my friend loved it! Which makes me so happy as it is such a beautiful arrangement! This florist place is very nice and so easy to work with . I had to order 2 sympathy floral arrangements for delivery and the nice man was able to help me and everything was done over the phone! He showed me some pictures via text and their website and I was able to customize some colors . What's great is that I didn't have to go to the store in person. So convenient ! Tracy is amazing!! She came in for my daughter in a pinch. This was my daughter first formal dance. My daughter was being very picky about the boutonnière for her first formal. Because I live in southern California, I had to find the florist stores can delivery the flowers as it in the pictures. I had very bad experience with order flowers online. When they sent the flowers, it looked totally different in the pictures. So after I a little research, I found this florist store in San Jose where I need to delivery the sympathy flowers. I'm not much of a 'florist' kind of guy. I normally conveniently pick up flowers from Safeway and call it a day. However, this Valentines, I had a HARD time finding my girlfriend's favorite type of flowers. She likes orange-red roses... and that can only be achieved with dyes. EVERYWHERE was completely sold out. I guess it has to do with COVID affecting supply chains? I went to two different florists and two different Safeways before I came to Thien Lan. Both the florists that I had gone to before Thien Lan basically told me, "You're $@*! out of luck. Should've planned ahead." Thien Lan was the ONLY place that empathized with me and worked with me. Their employees joked around with me and told me they'd come up with a solution. They told me they would figure something out 'on the fly' with the roses they had. They also asked me if I wanted a vase or a bouquet. I remember that I literally said something like, "Just wrap it in a bouquet?" First, they found gold roses that used to add a splash of paint to. The end-result was fantastic (look at the attached photo for proof)! Then, when I thought they'd just throw it together in a bouquet, kind of like what I've seen at most florists and grocery stores... they came out with this amazing arrangement that surprised the hell out of me. It was professionally presented and my girlfriend gushed over it when I gave it to her. The entire time while I was waiting, the staff pulled out a chair for me to sit, because they noticed I had been standing for a while. They chatted with me about Lunar New Year and Valentines. They gave me tips on how to find flowers more easily for next year - because they actually cared. They also joked and made me feel better, telling me "Don't feel bad about being a procrastinator." The whole bouquet was only $65.... when a lot of the prices I found online were $100+. You can look it up yourself. Try typing in "Orange Roses" in Google and notice how everything is in the $80-$140+ range. Their prices were terrific, especially considering that they had to come up with a solution "on the spot". They were kind, courteous, and empathetic to this sad bloke (who totally knows to pre-order colored roses next time, by the way, haha). I am really happy with my experience here and will definitely come back for my anniversary, Mother's Day, next Valentines, and any other time I need flowers. Thank you very much! read more

Each friend who has received a birthday arrangement was in love/awe with their gift. --Timeless Bouquet-- (Perfect for someone is is classy, elegant, love neutrals, and beautiful things) In July 2022, Urban Flora texted me once the flowers were dropped off; I had the flowers dropped off outside as my friend was quarantining and was the point of main point of contact while keeping this a surprise. --Pink Sorbet Bouquet-- (Perfect for a lover of pink, someone with a vibrant personality, maybe someone into anime). In March 2025, Urban Flora will e-mail the purchaser that it has 'shipped' once it's about to be delivered and will e-mail the purchaser once delivered. It would also be my first choice for my man -- if only they delivered to his city which they do not -- might have to do a pick-up one of these days. I would not recommend Urban Flora for last minute custom for like a Condolence arrangement - I did reach out in 2023 but was not able to get a hold of them at the time. Otherwise whether you order the day prior (within a reasonable window frame - they can get the job done, orders prior to noon would be best for those situations -- and the more time you give in advance, the better the delivery experience and outcome. You definitely get what you pay for and 'the best bouquet' is the experience you are providing.

Full story: I placed an order 5 months before a photoshoot where I wanted to hold a bouquet of flowers. I sent them a verbal description and a photo of what I wanted and they assured me they could do it. They quoted me for the bouquet consisting of pink garden roses, calla lilies, and lily of the valley and I paid in full as requested. The day before pickup (that we had agreed on 5 months ago), I sent an email to confirm. They replied with "Please call me to see what you are referring to." After calling, they could not find the order and after being put on hold, they eventually found it. Clearly they had completely forgot about the order. The order which they themselves said "I'll check availability (especially for lily of the valley, as it's seasonal) and provide you with an exact quote and timeline". Upon arriving for pick up, they had replaced the lily of the valley, one of the most expensive bouquet flowers, for baby's breath, one of the cheapest. Not only that, the garden roses were standard grocery store roses. The roses were also dry like paper, which isn't surprising since they had thrown it together in less than a day even though they had 5 months notice. When I asked for a 40% partial refund, I was negotiated down and patronized about how the price for the bouquet was way too low for what I had asked for because lily of the valley needs to be special ordered from France weeks in advance, etc etc. 1, it's not my fault that they under quoted, 2, I know that the flower needs to be special ordered; that's why they were given 5 months notice and I asked if the flowers would be available for that time. They also argued with me that the roses they had used were actually garden roses. The photo speaks for itself --standard roses were opened up, fluffed, and squished in the center to mimic the round shape of a garden rose, and others were unmistakably standard roses (like the one I circled in my photo). One of their employees was agreeing with me and saying that the flowers used did not match the photo and description I sent. She was shortly dismissed from the counter. They kept saying "we want you to be happy" - yet never acknowledged or apologized for forgetting the order or gave me as much of a partial refund as I was asking for. They asked me if the inspo photo I provided was photoshopped. The flowers exist in real life and they simply did not use them. They said they could create it at the time, so why would they ask that other than to make excuses? They simply forgot about the order and didn't order the right flowers and tried to pass off a cheap bouquet of old dry standard roses and baby's breath as what I asked for. I could have made what they made from a grocery store and the flowers wouldn't have been paper dry. Their tone when I was talking to them was like I was bothering them and being ridiculous for asking for money back, saying that the cheap bouquet was worth more. They said "I used extra calla lilies and I put it all together." First, there were not extra calla lilies and even if there were, it would not make up for everything else. Second, you put it together?? Are you not a florist? A florist is supposed to 1, source flowers, 2, put the flowers together. Failed on one. Bragged about the other. Sorry for not being impressed. Upon me insisting on the partial refund and arguing back with them, they offered to remake it and for them to deliver it the next day. Which would be day of the photoshoot which I had to leave in the morning for, which is why I scheduled pick up the day before. In the end, the delivery did not work for the timeline and I never got the flowers.

Tracy was extremely patient answering questions when I called several times regarding the photos shown on the web site. When ordering the arrangement, I left out one word. Not only did they create two beautiful pieces that received an enormous number of compliments from the guests (including a well-intended, fastidious mother of the bride), but Bloomsters also created the floral design same-day, delivered the arrangements, and gave me friendly reassurance that they would not falter on the columns in the high winds. They made creative design suggestions, executed the look with true artistry, and did it all at a great price!
