My father passed away five years ago today. We were very fortunate to have friends and family who showed their love and support through beautiful sympathy standing sprays. One of our very favorites was from Divine Mercy Flowers. My family was absolutely blown away by the size, beauty, and the quality of the floral arrangement. Fast forward four years, our uncle passed away and the first person who popped in our minds was Long [owner of Divine Mercy Flowers]. My sister and I took it upon ourselves to choose, purchase, and pay for the arrangement on behalf of our family. Due to it being our uncle, a second father figure for us growing up, money was no issue. We wanted something beautiful and different. My sister went onto Long's business website per his request and she was advised to take screen shots of whatever arrangement she was interested in and he would provide her with a quote. [Link located on his Yelp page] We opted for item F04 made up of snowy white chrysanthemums and red carnations placed in the shape of a cross. Long was upfront with us and told us that this particular setting was small in size. We asked if there was anyway we could just pay more and make it bigger than the norm. Long agreed and said he would charge us extra and come up with something that we would be happy with. On the day of the viewing, our order arrived a bit later than expected but at least they arrived. The size of the flower arrangement was the huge disappointment factor. It was literally kid sized. Three stars for the overall experience and satisfaction with what was delivered. We easily spent over $220 for something super dinky [and this cost is AFTER a $20 discount so we would have had to shell out $240!!!!]. I can't even image how tiny it would have been if we didn't pay more to create a bigger bouquet. One added star just because Long's customer service is truly amazing. He is very friendly and patient. Ter's Tidbit: Do yourself a favor and opt for the typical large standing spray arrangement. You would be saving money, possibly spending half the price of what we spent!! Any other shape compromises the size and your expectations will be letdown. read more

Having already parted ways with him after he cancelled our order, he has the gall to text my mom that he's seen my father's soul and that if we don't rescind our negative reviews on Yelp that my father's soul will remain in purgatory. Love the flowers that were done by the owner, Long. I first found him on the back of a church newsletter about 6 years ago when I was planning my father's funeral. Because of his great service and beautiful flowers, I remembered him and used his service when my mom recently passed away. He's always very friendly and was able to assist me with not only the flowers but was able to help me get in contact with who I needed at the church. He is my go to guy. However, if you read the screenshot of the text message, you will see evidence of the hypocrisy and true nature of this individual. I will now respond directly to the owner: Yes, negative reviews may effect your business. You should have reflected on this prior to your outburst and pettiness that were directed at my family; especially during our time of grieving. Our relationship was mutually terminated and there is no longer any reason to "come to your shop". I was taught that disputes should be "water under the bridge" and this instance is exactly that. My wife and I were invited to a "Hawaiian" themed wedding so she wanted to wear a flower in her hair. She had no idea what kind of flower to choose or how to wear a fresh flower in her hair. After lunch one day, we walked into this flower shop to look around and explained the situation to the owner Long. After hearing what she described, he simply smiled and said "I will give you a flower". He told us to call him the day before we needed it and he will prepare it. She went to pick it up on Saturday and he had actually fashioned a purple leaf out of wires to match the cymbidium orchid and put a zirconium earing stud to give it shine factor. It was such a beautiful gesture from the owner, but sadly the flower was a bit too heavy and didn't stay put above her ear.
