This review is for the paddle board rentals!…read more My 2 friends and I tried to book the paddle boards online the day prior. For some reason we were only able to book one, even when trying on different devices/ browsers. We tried calling but weren't able to get through so we decided to just go in person the next day. For our reservation, we were texted the instructions on where to park & how to get down to the right dock. The instructions were easy to follow. Despite the online reservation not working, we were still able to get 3 paddle boards! After signing a waiver and paying, the staff will give you a life jacket, measure the paddles according to your height, and give a quick tutorial on how to get onto the board. It was my first time paddle boarding and it was pretty easy to learn! We did a 2 hour rental (which is plenty of time) and had a lot of fun going through the recommended path and using the current to drift back. For the 2 hours it was about $30 which was more than worth it. There is a locker (without locks) where you can leave your clothes/ other items. If you want to bring a water bottle or other personal items that are ok to get wet, there is a bungee cord at the top of the board to secure those items in place. There are also restrooms with flush toilets at the dock. This experience was honestly one of my favorite parts of the weekend and I would highly recommend. I just hope they are able to get their online reservation system fixed for a smoother booking process!

The biggest draw here in my opinion are the the great views of St. John's Bridge. There are plenty of picnic tables where you can sit. The bathrooms aren't the cleanest but they are usable. There are always lots of people in the parking lot and using the boat launch. You do have to pay to park, but for a short time, it's definitely worth it. This is a lovely waterfront park that's great for dogs, picnics or just taking in the sights and sounds.

All of my communications with Chris and his team were very positive. He was very honest and forthright. Prior to our test ride, he and his team identified an issue with the trailer braking system that was quickly corrected. After the completion of our test ride, Chris told me that just prior to him departing their facility for the check ride, that his team discovered a hairline crack in the exhaust manifold. It certainly didn't impact the test ride. He gave me the option of taking a discount off the price, or a promise to complete the repair at a later date, so we could enjoy the boat through the season. We chose the later. The point being, is that I never would have found that problem. If the issue became significant enough in the future to warrant a repair, then I would have assumed it happened on my watch. I give them an A+ for honesty and communications. And, the boat is fantastic!

Gary is a character. He's not a fan of people who have big expensive boats who don't know how to…read morerun them, but otherwise he's very helpful. Other reviewers have compared him to Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi", which has some elements of truth to it. If you approach his dock slowly and under control, follow his directions on how and where to place your boat on the dock, let him tie off your boat with his lines, and respectfully engage with him as an intelligent person and not just a gas pump jockey, you'll be just fine.

It was time to let it go and we put it in the hands of  Mike Fitz-Hugh at Passion Yachts to find a buyer. Michael Taylor also worked on it. Finally an offer was made and the boat was sold.  This sailboat was not going to earn a big commission, but they worked on it like it would. The Passion Yacht team went out of their way to help us schedule our classes to fit our needs. Doing our 101 with Jen turned out to be very instructive given her sailing knowledge and racing experience, on top of being a great and fun teacher. We sailed with John for almost a week and enjoyed that experience immensely, especially his attention to detail, his easy-going ways and his methodical, disciplined manner of sailing, and thoroughness in guiding and teaching us, always mindful of us learning and applying the lessons.
