We did the round lake loop trail that is about 1.5 miles round trip. It is relatively flat with a few inclines and declines. We saw families using strollers on parts of the trail. The trail is shaded for almost the entire route. The trail is well maintained and clean. The trails are clearly marked and the signs are easy to see. There's bathrooms and a playground for kids. We saw a lot of people using kayaks in the lake. There's also picnic tables and benches to use. This is a great option for any age and ability. It's beautiful and green. I highly recommend Lacamas Lake for those who want to enjoy the greenery and beauty of Washington.

This park is very lush with picnic tables and grills spread out for privacy. The view of the lake is gorgeous! There are over 6 miles of trails, some of which intertwine. If you're new to these trails, a map is a good idea; one could easily get lost if not familiar as the trails aren't all marked. I just took a picture of the trail map by the parking area to have as reference in case I needed it. The trails are lush and mainly dirt and rocks. If you walk down to lower falls the trail can be a little more treacherous. Some of the hills are steep and some rocks loose. Make sure you wear the proper footwear. There are a few falls to see, many creeks, a dam and a couple lakes (Lacamas and Round). Overall a wonderful place to get outside for fresh air and beautiful scenery. Highly recommend.

The park's 2.8‑mile trail winds through a mix of dense forest and sunlit meadows along the East Fork Lewis River, giving you moments of peaceful reflection and wide-open breathing room. We decided to spend our time taking Halloween photos all over the park. While enjoying ourselves, it was great inspiration. There is something grounding about the tall Douglas firs and the hum of the river nearby. I found a quiet spot on one of the gravel paths, sat down for a bit, and just watched as the river ran. Apparently it's not just a walking park, either..there are places to picnic, horseshoe pits, and even a small boat launch if you want to get out on the water. There are lots of picnic tables and covered shelters too, perfect for a family gathering or a chill afternoon with friends. I heard on warm days, people swim here..though heads up, there are no lifeguards and the river currents can be strong. Parking is simple, though there's a daily fee (around $3 for a car). If you come here often, the annual pass is a pretty good deal. If you're craving a place to get away from the city, stretch your legs, or just be near water and trees, Lewisville Regional Park is the perffffect place. We took the loop trail, about 3 miles around the park, into the forest and along the river. There are multiple large grassy areas, play areas, and courts. The pavilions are superb. They are fully equipped, including a water source and fire pit, and are spread out throughout the acreage. The trail was great as well. The paths are very wide and well maintained, a dog walkers paradise. I was also impressed with the amount of trash cans, no excuse for litter in this park. There was a very small thing that really impressed me, hadn't seen it before...a container near the waters edge to place used fishing line. Would love to see those more often! The ONLY negative experience we had was trying to get in. Neither of the parking pass machines were working well and consistently. It took us about 10 tries to get a ticket. After multiple swipes of the credit card and attempts with some bills, we finally got one. And it wasn't us, we had a long line behind us and multiple people out trying to get them to work. When we left the park we noticed the same traffic jam...they definitely need addressed! As frustrating as the parking machines were, the park made up for it. Fabulous place to spend an afternoon!

My boyfriend and I had a once in a lifetime experience fishing with Matt. Unfortunately salmon…read moreseason was cut short, so we fished for only sturgeon. However, we had the opportunity to catch and keep sturgeon only if it was between 44-50 inches; which occurs twice in a year. From beginning to start, Matt was super helpful with providing gear for me as it was my first time fishing. His boat was top of the line compared to the rest on the river that day. It had a hot water sink and very comfy chairs to sit in. He also had beers, waters on dec and had anti-nausea meds on board which was great for me since I was feeling sick. After 5 minutes, my boyfriend caught his first sturgeon that was 47 inches. And I caught one four hours later that was 45 inches. He allowed us to reel it in (which was a struggle for me, but worth it) and he took great photos after. We were the only 2 people that day to catch and keep our sturgeon. We couldn't have had a better experience and we got so lucky that day thanks to Matt! He ended up filet-ing our sturgeons and took 15 pounds of it home. It was the highlight of our trip to Portland. And we plan to come back in the spring once salmon season starts. If you're thinking about booking a trip with him, DO IT. You won't regret it!

In all honesty, my primary reason for coming to Kelley Point Park this weekend was two-fold: spend…read moresome time in the water on a warm, sunny day, and scout out how hard it would be to row a boat over to Sauvie Island, to bypass the crazy long lines that queue up for the Haunted Corn Maze at Bella Organic Farms in October. While the latter was *immediately* eliminated as an option, after seeing the breadth and turbulence of the waters here, at the confluence of the Columbia and Willamette rivers, a day relaxing on a sandy, semi-rocky beach went...well, swimmingly! Well, sort of. Apparently, swimming is dangerous here. There are multiple signs warning people to stay out of the water, targeting all modes of recreation: swimming, floating and boating. That didn't stop some people, at least those further down shore from the northwestern apex of the park, and personally, it's dumb rule, in my opinion. There is a lot of shipping traffic along this stretch of river, but most people aren't going to get anywhere near these massive vessels, and the tide and depth don't seem particularly more dangerous than anywhere else. Exercise caution and wisdom, and you should be fine. The water was warm enough, once you adjust to it, for a late May day. The beach is mostly soft sand, with a mixture of gravel in bands farther up the shore from the water. Large logs and cement blocks, the remains of old docks and the like, litter the shore. Depending on the time of day, large swaths of the beaches are shaded by the tree line, so it can be a bit cooler than the rest of the park. There are miles of paved paths for walking, riding, skating, etc, as well as several large picnic areas (including tables), open fields, and ample parking. And, of course, dog friendly, although be sure to clean up after your poopers! So maybe it won't serve as a back door to Sauvie Island, but Kelley Point Park is a great place to spend a sunny afternoon, provided you don't like swimming...or don't mind giving the government the finger and doing it anyway.

That's because the coast…read morehere, while breathtaking in it's natural beauty, is not a beach where one goes to recline in soft sand and catch some sun. But we do have a beach!! At this park! Only it's on the river, and it's a convergence of rivers so the current is really dangerous, like kill a person dangerous, so you do not dare swim in it. But still .... it's a beautiful beach where you can put out your blanky and spend a gorgeous day relaxing by the water. The rest of the park is also beautiful. I know a bit of the history of this land, and this was not always a park. For a while in its history it was a dump. True story. Then it got cleaned up and nature was encouraged to take it back, and now it is a peaceful, lush refuge full of life. Tall trees, flower covered meadow, shade covered trails. Ample parking is available. There have been some remarks that the park has a seedy side, but that has been overstated. As a single woman, often alone except for my dog, I find it safe enough. Park in a spot that has a lot of visibility, don't leave valuables in your car. Be aware of your surroundings and eyeball the other people near you. Walk with confidence. I always nod (but not smile) and acknowledge other people around me. I keep my resting b face in place. It says, "I see you" and let's them know I'm not going to be an easy target. People with bad intentions look for distracted, shy or mild mannered targets. Sure, it kinda sucks to have to be on guard, but my confident demeanor has deterred bad things, I'm sure of it. In any event, I have never seen anyone here who was sketchy enough for my spider sense to tingle.

There is plenty of parking, a small playground, 12 picnic tables on the park side (there might be a couple more on the boat launch side, I don't recall), a restroom facility and the boat launch. The boat launch is on the opposite side of the road from the park. There is a fair amount of open grassy space to let the kids run around or play frisbee, etc. We didn't see any BBQ grills but they do have a hot coals disposal area if you want to bring your own portable grill. There were several people fishing along the river when we stopped by and saw one family playing in a small sandy area along the river. The river current is quite swift in the section by the park because of some curves in the river, so I wouldn't advise allowing small children to wade in the water here as they could easily be swept away, and because of this I'm not sure if swimming is even allowed (I didn't see mention of it on their website, but don't recall what the local signage said).

I just needed a decent, inexpensive, compact scope for travel, and bought one at a good price. The vortex tripod was also on sale, so I walked out very satisfied and with a small goodie bag. Christian new where to go to get us the experience of a lifetime. We caught 8 very nice sturgeon. That may not seem like a lot but, these fish put up a fight. Christian and Dennis worked with us in a great team environment and expert advice on how to reel these prehistoric beasts in. We immediately booked another trip with them for September 1st for King Salmon! Highly recommend Christian and his team!

My brother and I took our blind father sturgeon fishing. We had a perfect day! Chris was patient and helpful with my dad. I would recommend him and will certainly go again. We caught 18 fish including a TROPHY! It was 8' long and too large to bring into the boat. Chris was wonderful.
