The windmill was imported several decades ago from the Netherlands - the history was narrated to us by a staff member in a Dutch costume. She was exceptionally friendly and answered our questions with wit and humour. The mechanics of the windmill were fascinating, and one could go up five storeys (each floor had its own equipment and explanations), though not right up to the top. The windmill is surrounded by beautiful gardens with a variety of flowers. It was fun to stroll around the gardens and visit the gift shop. The blue and white jewellery at the gift shop was particularly stunning. There is also free cheese available- some of the varieties were quite unusual. Four stars because while the windmill itself was interesting and the gardens lovely, there is nothing much to really do. Overall a pleasant experience but not sure if I will visit again.

The pond and walkways were so nice. You can walk all the way around the island if you like. The small bridge was a perfect spot for photos. Of course the main attraction is the windmill. The ladies working the bottom were so sweet and friendly. We walked up to the top. Each floor had something to offer. Once at the top, we went out on the balcony to enjoy a gorgeous view. The hotel seems quiet for 48 room capacity. Not seeing a lot of folks throughout the day. A bit odd. Aura offers Starbucks brand coffee and some pastries too. There is a small store towards the lounge area to the right of the check-in area. Small business rooms and decent sized conference rooms and little study areas. The common areas are all over and plenty of space to hang out wherever inside and patio spaces too.

On my first night, the motion sensor seemed to be acting up because the lights kept shutting off on me, but housekeeping must have noticed and fixed it the next day because it worked perfectly after that. The bar is fantastic, interesting drinks, and stellar prices during happy hour! Our bartender seemed discontent, like she was over it and didn't want to be there. Breakfast and coffee the next morning were also great - many my picky husband happy, and the horchata cold brew with almond milk fueled my entire day! I was quite amazed but not surprised seeing how lovely everything is! The flowers were all in bloom, no random trash, grass green and freshly mowed, and trash receptacle can be found spaced out enough that there should not be a reason for anyone not to walk the short distance to throw away their trash. I love the water fountain area surrounded by a variety of flowers in bloom. My pup loved her stroll, too. The park is very well shaded with trees and magnificent vegetation throughout. I regretted not spending more time there as there are quite a bit of benches located throughout the park to sit and enjoy the view from. This is my second visit to this park and I am more and more impressed every time. Great job city of Holland and those who takes great care of the park!

The statues, flowers and greenery all come together to create a lovely oasis in the city. The fountains and gazebo add to the charm. Each time I visit Holland, I always make a point to take a walk through this perfect park.
