Based on the name, I expected something sweet, but it was much more bitter than anticipated. We also ordered the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pinwheels, and they were incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and easily one of the best appetizers I've had at a restaurant. I highly recommend giving them a try. For my meal, I got the Dixie Luau, their take on a Hawaiian pizza. It was excellent. The crust was the perfect thickness, and the toppings were generous. What really stood out was the pineapple, it tasted fresh and high quality compared to the canned pineapple that many places use. If the weather is nice, definitely ask to sit on the front patio. It was the perfect place to relax, enjoy the food, and do a little people-watching. The atmosphere was great, and I'd absolutely come back the next time I'm in the area.

Unfortunately, we stayed on the 4th Floor, and unbeknownst to us, a wedding was held in the event space right above us, wine the dance floor situated literally right above our room. Very loud if you need to sleep early! Front desk seemed genuinely apologetic, offered headphones and a time the din was to end, but it ended 30 minutes past that quoted time. The bar is fantastic, interesting drinks, and stellar prices during happy hour! Our bartender seemed discontent, like she was over it and didn't want to be there. Breakfast and coffee the next morning were also great - many my picky husband happy, and the horchata cold brew with almond milk fueled my entire day! To top it all off, it's super convenient to our fav pizza place downtown. I'd stay at Tulyp again in a heartbeat!
