The lack of communication with management is horrible. There is no proper training. The only type of "training" I received was to match the firearms to their rightful cases. Other than that during my time I received no sexual harassment training or how to properly sell a firearm training. Some of the employees have no respect for women especially a female working behind the counter selling firearms. I was sexually harassed by a co-worker and Management tried to take care of it before it went up to HR. All I was told was to avoid that person but unfortunately that person literally worked in the same department as me and wouldn't leave me alone. Another time sexual harassment continued I decided to email HR myself. She acknowledged that she received my email and would take care of the problem. But yet again there was no follow-up and the harassment continued. The methods of selling a firearm was never clear. There were so many different ways that they wanted things done and it caused a lot of frustration and stress among my cohorts. Which resulted in longer lines because nobody really knew what they were doing. The only thing that I got a solid confirmation was what to wear. "No jeans with holes, no hoodies, and no phones in your back pockets along with no leggings." Which half the cashiers always wore leggings but God forbid one of the girls working firearm sales wore leggings we would never hear the end of it. I was also spoken to because I was over a minute and 75 seconds late and it was highlighted in front of me. Yet everyone else behind me was clocking in 10 to 15 minutes late and they never got spoken to about it. And they were all males. I worked there for 6 months and I called out once because I didn't have a babysitter and I gave 24-hour notice. When I returned to work I was written up. But they ended the conversation with "We understand things happene." Well then if you're so family-friendly and you understand so much why did you write me up? They're so "Family Friendly" we were told they believed in family time and having weekends off. Either Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday. That was taken away. We were promised Law Enforcement discounts on firearms and that was also taken away. "We won't mess with your schedule!" *Changes your schedule to 11am to 8pm.* That's your whole day at work with no family time! They will also pull your firearm off layaway and give it to a customer. Once I gave my two weeks notice I signed my paperwork of resignation. I was debating about staying part-time but then realized that driving 40 minutes to and from work was just going to be too much of a hassle so I told management of my final decision and emailed HR asking for a copy of my resignation form that I had originally signed. She said and I quote "We have no record of you signing any form, but I can send you your email back of your letter of resignation" lol OKAY. I can't really speak for the other locations but the location in Lebanon never really cared about their employees. Every morning meeting we got hammered down on everything we were doing wrong and how we need to accept the consequences of things. Never anything positive. Way to boost morale! The store needs work and Improvement on their training for their employees. Everything I have explained is probably the reason why they have such a huge turnover. And don't get me started on price gouging. All this ammo they have and they can't price it at normal price? Taking advantage of people during hard times. It's completely unethical. read more

If all businesses were ran the way Vance runs theirs we would all be better off. They could not be more helpful. I walked in for the first time and was greeted at the door and explained an issue I was having and even though it was not something they had done they wasted no time helping me. After the Greeter at the door I meet Brenda, (Aunt B) I heard her called and with good reason. Not because she looks like Aunt B but because she wants to help people even more. She had managers helping me within minutes and each manager and salesperson I talked to also could not have been more helpful. My hats off to Brenda and the whole Team at Vance. Love that they actually have ammo! Not all types and twice as expensive as a year ago. But Vance has ammo even though there is a nation wide shortage. Their prices compared to some online sites are fair and reasonable. Its easy to complain about pricing but with the high demand and extreme shortage the prices have increased everywhere. Most places have NO ammo. The service which I receive there is polite and professional. Clean and neat store. Glad to see them in Lebanon Ohio. read more
