Getting old sucks. I crossed a certain decade line this year and suddenly felt the need to address some ongoing, nagging issues in my life. One of those issues is sleep related. So upon a referral from my GP, I contacted Vancouver Sleep Center to set up a sleep study. This is something a lot of my friends have talked about but have never activated on. So let me clue you in to how it works: Step 1 - Get a referral (if your insurance requires one), or simply call up and set an appointment. Step 2 - See the Dr. Answer questions about your habits, sleep patterns, etc, and determine whether you need a sleep study and which type. There are two - home study (basic), and lab study (comprehensive). For me, it was lab all the way. Step 3 - Come in for a night of sleep study. You get hooked up to a bunch of wires, parked in a bed, and then linked up to more wires, tubes, and clips. It's not the most comfortable thing in the world, but it's set up so you can get up and go potty without too much hassle. Don't expect to sleep a ton, especially if you have any other sleep issues. But this night of annoyance is worth it in the end. Step 4 - Get the results and discuss with Dr. Raghuram. Step 5 - Treat. My experiences here were all positive. The staff is friendly and efficient. Dr. Raghuram communicated clearly to me and I appreciated his no-nonsense approach to my care. Unlike a lot of Dr's these days, I didn't feel like he was trying to incur any charges beyond what I needed to diagnose and treat my myriad issues. Janette, who helped with all of the technical details, is friendly and patient with my questions. Very helpful. The sleep tech was friendly and chill. I'm super glad I had this done. I have addressed some issues and am living so much better now. Getting good sleep is essential to so many things, and I sleep better now than I probably ever have. It's life-changing. It was a nightmare experience with The Vancouver Sleep Center. I point blank asked several times what my co-pay through my insurance would be to buy my BiPAP. They told me everything was taken care of. After around 3 months I get a $362 bill for "Rental" of my BiPAP. They point blank lied to me. I would never suggest The Vancouver Sleep Center to anyone. This place is the absolute worst!!!!! They don't fit anyone for their mask. They don't call back after you call for help because your CPAP isn't working!!! The only time they call is for billing AND they billed for stuff that shouldn't be billed!!! Lots of miscommunication and misinformation provided by this company. I asked on my intial visit if my Medicare insurance would cover the treatment(s) and device if one was deemed necessary and was told, "Yes". After the study, I opted for the dental appliance since I knew I would not be able to tolerate a CPAP mask. I was referred to a Dentist and I asked the same question about insurance coverage and was told again that Yes, it was covered. Just before my appointment I was called by the dental office and "reminded" that there was a $400. Co-payment that I would be responsible for. I had already paid my Co-pays for two prior visits with the Sleep Center (one being for the tele-video to discuss the results of the sleep test) and today, I received another bill for the sleep test itself! They never told me there would be an additional charge for that. I would not recommend this place! read more

Dr. Raghuram is very smart and discusses options with me. I provided much faster access than my good sleep doctor at Vancouver Clinic. The only reason this isn't a five star review is that their online communication system is not as easy to use as MyChart. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My husband and I have both been to this sleep center. My husband went through the recommended home sleep study. His sleep apnea was diagnosed but they wanted to schedule another study in house. We refused and went ahead with the cpap purchase. We needed a form signed for my husband's captains license and they forced him to make an appt. They never answer their phone and have terrible bedside manner. My appt was terrible, including body shaming and insensitivity. I never went back. We will never recommend or return to this clinic. Thankfully, we are moving and will no longer have to deal with them. A very unprofessional, awful experience. read more

Is there a zero star rating? I went for one reason. to get a medical nexus letter written to the VA. they agreed and then proceeded to sell me appointments as they have always done. A month later, I call back and inquire about it. They play the oops we must have overlooked this game. No problem, just send me the letter please. 5 minutes later I get a call saying we don't do these. Well that's not what they said the first time before they tried to seLLC appointments to me. They told me they've done plenty of these. This place is an appointment factory, full of lies to keep you coming back. Don't waste your time. read more

BEWARE - something they don't tell you when you contact them is that they will require you to provide your credit card and authorization to charge up to $1500 at any point in the next three years for any portion not covered by insurance. You will not receive a bill until after they have charged your credit card. They will also not provide you any advance warning that they will be charging your card. This form was not included in the new patient packet they provided, nor were we informed of this policy when the initial appointment was scheduled. When the initial appointment was scheduled, we were told they would need the credit card for a deposit for the machine, which is reasonable. But the $1500 "we can charge you whenever we want" policy is not reasonable. We feel like they mislead us on the phone. They certainly were not truthful about this policy. read more

They lost my records. I tried CPAP and the machine sends data to you sleep clinic. I know they had the data because they mentioned it several times during the tube I was using the machine. Well now I need that data at they said they don't have it and they claim to be surprised and mystifies. They said they would "investigate further" and call me back the next day but they never did. read more

The Vancouver sleep center office staff and provider was very professional. However, the billing/management was opposite. Reason: issue with my insurance. Instead of calling the patient or sending an invoice they just build my HSA account and was going to bill me the full amount. I only received an email informing me they will charge my credit 403.00 Once I phone the clinic to discuss the insurance issue. Billing and Management was unavailable. Left a week long of messages and voice mail for the billing and office manager . I did get a voicemail from the manager. Just returning the call. I eventually had to call my insurance. One visit was still pending. Three office visit are in process. No patient responsibility is showing for now. I have and currently working in the health industry for over 30 years. This experience leaves a very negative experience for patients. I would never refer a patient there due to the billing practices not the provider nor office staff . read more

The Vancouver sleep center is it crooked as any criminal can be. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Though they have a few nice people working for them, they are a total financial scam. They told me upfront that my insurance covered the sleep study I just needed to pay my copayment. Then find out they charged $400 for the initial consultation almost $600 to wear a ring on my finger at night to monitor my sleep. And then another $300 to tell me what the result of my study was. They also take your credit card upfront so if you don't pay them they just automatically take it from your account. No questions asked. I'll never use them again. I'll never step foot in the door. And I don't recommend them to anybody. I really wish there were something to do to prove their insurance fraud. If anybody out there wants to sue them please remember me I will testify. read more

This has been the most frustrating experience I have had with any medical office. The staff was cordial, but when trying to book an appointment, you often get an answering machine. After leaving information, there will be no call back. I have had an Inspire Device implanted that was supposed to be monitored after the activation. There has been no monitoring or communication or follow up appointments. Unprofessional and a medical concern. read more

It's been 6 weeks and the check still have not been cashed. They say open at 8am we go there and it's closed. Terrible place. Beware because something is really off about this place. Scam all they want to do is sell you a Cpap machine, I was told that the machine was on a trial, rented thru insurance , I tried for a couple of months but did not work at all for me, I took the Cpap back to the office to return and was told that the insurance had already paid for it it was mine and I might as well try and use it, over 2 years later and it's been under the bed the whole time I get a threat a demand letter For 700 bucks.. Called and talked to them, seemed to go away and now over another year later I get a letter they are taking me to court,mcant wait to see ya in court! Will be filing complaints with ig and insurance as well, see them on Facebook I posted a complaint ther the first time I got the letter... Go somewhere where they really want to help you, if you just want to buy a Cpap call me. This outfit is a complete scam and engages in deceptive billing practices. I made an appointment, and the technician had a whole list of questions designed to indicate the need for sleep therapy. They sent me home for a "Home Sleep study" with a cheap Walmart Specific O2/pulse rate recording device (ring) and an app for my phone that allegedly uploads the data. So then I had to make yet another trip to the office to return the device which involved a heated discussion about providing me with proof that the device was returned in good condition (all $149 of it). Yet one more trip through to discuss the findings of the report delayed several days so that they could "analyze" the data. Somehow this cheap trinket (I've had one for several years, so I am very familiar with its limitations) was able to extrapolate pulse rate and Specific O2 readings into sleep state (REM, Deep etc.) and collate all sorts of additional data that it couldn't possibly measure. All this was compiled into a 4-page report that went into exquisite detail about how the findings were based an overnight laboratory sleep study that never occurred. Surprisingly enough, the report indicated an urgent need for a more thorough study and immediate CPAP therapy which as luck would have it, they were ready and able to supply. They sent me a bill for $35 (no explanation) and then 2 days later another email indicating that they were going to use my credit card on file to pay a $10 payment on the bill. The "credit card on file" was to ensure that the recording device was returned in good condition, not to make it easy to raid the customer's bank account. If you have concerns about sleep apnea or other sleep problems- look elsewhere. read more

They charge insurance for the equipment, so they mark it up quite a bit. They didn't get my insurance information correct, so about 18 months goes by, they are sending me invoices and I am thinking that it is covered, they still send me supplies and bill my insurance for those items. By the time I get the big bill and try to submit it to my insurance company, they say it's too old they aren't paying out. VSC sent me to collections, I ended up paying $2,500 out of pocket for a $600 machine that should have been covered by my insurance in the first place. I tried and tried to get them to work with me but they refused. I paid a lot of $$ for their incompetence. read more

Extremely disappointing that this place is more concerned with billing insurance than getting patients the care they need. If you have connectivity issues with your telehealth appointment through no fault of your own, be prepared to be told that you can't receive a phone call to complete the appointment. I also loved that my in-person appointment was switched over to telehealth with one day's notice, and then the appointment couldn't even be completed. Put the needs of your patients first, please. Then, they claimed that they attempted to contact me multiple times throughout the day to connect me with my provider to finish my appointment. This was false they never attempted to contact me throughout the day to try and reconnect me with my provider for my appointment, not one time, so from my experience, their claim that they attempted to contact me multiple times is a lie. Also, they don't get to blame me for the terrible telehealth connection, that was the "free" program that that all choose to use. That is on their office, not me. Again, there is NO REASON why my provider couldn't have completed my appointment as a phone call, except "we can't bill insurance for a phone call." My provider saw me on the telehealth screen, I saw my provider, great, switch to a phone call and bill that way. Absolutely ridiculous, I hope they remove me from their system, I have zero interest in having care from their facility, and I better not receive a bill for my "appointment". read more

The doctor did a great job and my final solution really does work, but I felt I was not wise about costs beforehand. I was told I'd be doing one night test, and I mentioned I have a mouth guard that seems to help, so the doctor suggested doing another night test, one with and another without the mouthguard. The result was adding a night of testing added another approx 500 dollars to my bill, with me having to pay 260 our of pocket. I would not have agreed to a second night if I'd known it would be that much extra. I've disputed the cost, but they haven't budged. It feels deceptive and I think it is partly my fault for not asking about costs beforehand. That also made me feel as if the doctor was not truly looking out for my interests, which never feels good when you're talking to a doctor. read more

The technician performing the test was excellent, extremely knowledgeable, professional, very kind. Something didn't feel right about this place beyond that. I was told I didn't have sleep apnea. A couple of weeks later, a big medical truck shows up at my door delivering medical equipment for my sleep apnea, which I never ordered since I didn't have sleep apnea. Vancouver Sleep Center took it upon themselves to order it under my name, even though I did not have sleep apnea, nor did I request any kind of equipment. I tried contacting Management, which is not an easy thing to do, they're not always there to answer the phone. I finally got a hold of a manager to explain to the manager the situation and she said she would look into it and get back to me and never did. Today I received an email saying I had a bill statement and all I received was this; PatientInsurance Bal. Patient Bal. Weinmuller, Angela. $1,898.00. $32.55 Pay Now Total Balance: $32.55 Statement Balance: $32.55 No itemization what so ever. I have no idea what I was being charged for. Was not satisfied with the communication of costs / insurance. Would advise potential visitors to clarify costs, in-detail, ahead of time. I would clarify that this is not a nationwide problem or even an insurance problem. Based on my opinion, this is a communication problem clearly linked to this specific clinic. I would simply advise all potential customers to specifically ask/talk about a specific and thorough breakdown of costs associated with visits and devices, well ahead of time. The people here are great! I went to the Salmon Creek Office where I received excellent and compassionate care.
