I was living overseas for most of my pregnancy. After seeing such great reviews, I called Dr. Kaleb's office to see if she could see me starting at my 7th month when I repatriated. They said 'no problem', and so I was happy to know I found a doctor for when I return. Shortly before my return, I called again and arranged to have my medical records faxed over. Although some of it was in a foreign language, all of the test results were in English. So, they told me they would email me. I never received anything, and I assumed everything was okay. I returned to the states shortly thereafter and called as soon as the holidays were over to make an appointment. I explained my story, and the girl realized it was the paperwork where they couldn't read the doctor's name. Let me say that I am no doctor and barely go to doctors, but reading over the paperwork, I was able to figure out a LOT of the test results and information myself. However, they informed me that Dr. Kaleb wouldn't even see me unless I had it ALL translated. SO discourteous and unthoughtful to tell me this AFTER I left the country. They never let me know either of the times that I called that they needed this translation service completed. They had my email address to contact me, but never did. They let me assume I had a doctor. If they had let me know before, I could have had gone back to the doctor and asked them for translation or even found a different doctor... but they decided it would be best to add this STRESS to me in my 7th month of pregnancy and surprise me when I called them. THANKS! I found a great doctor (Dr. Leslie Gonzalez) that had no problem making an appointment with me, saw my medical records for about 5 minutes, and specifically said "I was able to figure out almost all of your test results from what you gave me and just need your sonograms". Well... I feel a lot more comfortable with a doctor that is willing to go the extra (not even mile) inch to help out a patient, and I am so happy to be under her care. Who wants a doctor that's too lazy to even read medical records that has a little foreign language mixed in??? So glad I found this laziness early on and got a good doctor instead! read more

The doctor might be good but I would t know. Made an appointment with an ignorant front office girl only to drive 30 mins for her to call and say she doesn't have Any time to see me. Doesn't matter that I'm in extreme pain with a chronic uti infection. No focus on helping people in pain but need to make sure you have insurance maybe for an appointment tomorrow....rediculous! read more

I was referred to Dr. Kaleb a while ago. Up to then I'd done my annual through my regular GP. But I'd begun to experience very heavy bleeding and quite a lot of pain with my period. I was worried something was wrong, and thought I should consult an OBGYN. Dr. Kaleb did an annual exam. That part went fine. However, when I asked about the pain, bleeding, and several other symptoms, she told me that women's cycles change with age and I should regard this as my new normal. A few months later I decided that I needed to know more. The symptoms were quite debilitating. I went to another OBGYN and was diagnosed quickly with a uterine fibroid. I did some research and talked to other physicians and learned that my symptoms were pretty classic for a fibroid. I had surgery to remove the fibroid and the symptoms vanished. I wish that Dr. Kaleb had suggested that this was even something worth looking into. I could have taken care of it months earlier. At the very least I'd have appreciated some discussion of what can cause such symptoms. read more

I can't tell you how nice it is to find a Doctor with such an amazing bedside manner. She is so compassionate and informative. You do not feel rushed at all and she will answer as many questions as you have. She explains what is going to happen in detail. My husband and I had our first baby last year at Long Beach memorial. Dr. Kaleb was amazing!! We always made our appts for 9am. She was alway early! I have never had a doctor that was always early. She took a lot of time to explain everything to us and made us feel extremely comfortable. We were a little concerned about the hospital for deliver but Dr. Kaleb made the whole experience wonderful! She worked with all our nurses through my whole labor! I am so sad we moved out of the area and will not be able to have her for our second baby. Similar to other Yelpers, I selected Dr Kaleb randomly from my insurance provider website. I have never been happier with a GYN. She is warm, kind, and has a sense of humor! I'm sure all of you ladies can agree that being at the Dr isn't the most comfortable of places. Dr Kaleb eases any nervousness or apprehension. She is easy to talk to and offers good advice. I only saw Dr Kaleb once and it was for a women's wellness check/first Pap smear! From the beginning she was very professional, approachable and kind. She made me feel comfortable the entire time. I had my first appointment with Dr. Kaleb yesterday and I have one word to describe her...AWESOME! She met with my husband and I before examining me, and she was able to answer all of our questions before we could even ask them. Being that I've had 2 MC and this being our first pregnancy to hold this long, we were really scared coming in to see her. She reassured us and was really great at calming us. I absolutely love Dr. Kaleb! So imagine my dismay when I called to make my annual appointment, to find that she is now in the Bay Area. :-( She is am amazing doctor, truly a rare find. I have never had a doctor who, prior to an exam, would take me into her office, sit down with me, and chat. She always took the time to listen and address any of my concerns, and she always put me at ease. When I found out I was expecting my first child she was incredibly supportive - to both my husband and I - throughout my entire pregnancy. (My husband loves her as well.) During labor, she was awesome - a total high five in human form. I felt safe, well cared for and knew that I was in good hands. Our delivery was relatively easy, and I have her to thank for that. (The nurses were fantastic too). I really wish her the best and she will be missed. And I have now told my husband to start looking for jobs in the Bay Area, lol. read more

I don't know what I would do without her! Dr. Kaleb is a patient at the dental office that I work for and when I met her I just knew she had to deliver my next baby! I had such a bad experience at Kaiser with my son that I changed my insurance just so I can be seen at Dr. Kalebs office. I am 5 months pregnant and she has been AMAZING so far. I finally feel safe and in good hands. I have never had a Dr. that called me personally right when my lab results came in. The staff is also very friendly and on top of things. Dr. KALEB is the absolute best doctor ever! We miss her so much! Her office was like a second home to me. After finding out we had mono/mono twins, a very rare pregnancy, she was there every step of the way until we lost them at 17 weeks. After we lost them she called and kept checking on us to make sure we are ok. Fast forward 6 months later when I found out I was pregnant with my son. She had me come in for an early scan and saw me weekly in the beginning to ease my mind. At 34 weeks I had to have an emergency csection and she came in to deliver on her day off. She has so much compassion and heart for her craft. She also delivered my daughter and again, was amazing throughout my entire pregnancy. She also has a very skillful skill with csection scars. Mine is barely visible! Like I said before, we miss her so much. She became part of our family and I will always be so grateful for the care we received from her. We love you Dr. KALEB! read more

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I was referred to Dr. Kaleb and am so very glad I was. I had my first child 14 months ago, she answered the million questions most new moms have and put me at ease. I ended up having an emergency c-section two weeks before my due date and she was amazing throughout. Her staff is very personable and I love seeing them every time I visit. I had an appointment today with this office and I have been seen here at least 4 to 5 times before although it has been a few months. I found out this week that I had a balance owing that I was never informed about. Upon my arrival today I was asked about the balance to which I agreed to pay more than half of it today but could not pay it in full as I am a cash patient and planned to pay some of what I was to be charged today as well. I was then told to have a seat when I was called into an office of one of the other doctors where she preceded to tell me that my doctor thought I was a great person and all but she would not see me today unless I paid everything in full today including the bill from today. As stated before I had just found out about this bill, had offered to pay more than half of it and had no previous history of slow pays but not good enough for this office/doctor. I felt so terrible that I was being refused service from a "care" giver that I was forced to tears! SO BAD, I am never going back. I was horrified by this experience today and feel scared to put my trust in medical professionals again if it is all about the money as this experience truly showed me =( ...... read more

Finding a great OB is quite a task and like many of you I turned to yelp to help me in my search. This is where I found the amazing Dr. Kaleb. I started seeing her about this time last year when I learned I was pregnant....with twins! Throughout my pregnancy she was always available to see me and answer my random questions via email. Many of my friends have horrific stories about being pregnant and unable to get seen/talk to their OB but not me I was quite spoiled (maybe it was the twins but I dont think so). Everyime I came in she took her time checking me out, asking me what I had been up to, answering my questions and always made sure I left knowing what was going to happen next (in terms of my pregnancy and what I need to be prepared for). She even took all of my "anxiety driven" last minute appointments seriously (new the the whole pregnancy world I freaked out alot). On the day of my delivery I went in for my standard weekly check up and upon hearing about some unusual things I was experiencing sent me directly over to L&D to get checked out more throughly. I was there for maybe 2 hours (just long enough for them to get me in and run some tests) and she came by just to check up on me. What a relief that was, knowing that my doctor who already had a packed schedule took the time to run over and check on me - a momma to be sitting in L&D 6 weeks before her due date (not exactly something she probably thought she would be doing that day). Throughout the remainder of my time in labor she probably came by and checked in on me another 2-3 times before I was far enough along for delivery. Then when the time came for delivery, she clearly explained what was going to happen, and what we would do if any emergencies came up. To top it off - my mother's flight in was delayed and Dr. Kaleb personally walked down to the lobby of the hospital to save my mom from the long looming security line so she could say "good luck" before it all began... After delivery Dr. Kaleb checked in on me daily at the hospital and gave me a great peditrician referral for the boys. Couldn't be happier - if she hasn't maxed out her patient loading by now, I would definately give her a call. read more

Things started off great, but after our experience with my son's birth, I'm looking for a new OB. To try to be the most objective and helpful that I can for other searchers(I chose Dr. Kaleb from the glittering reviews on here), I'll list both the pros and cons I experienced. Obviously the cons are why I'm not going back, so I've tried to explain those a little more... PROS: -Pretty much zero office wait time. I think once I waited for 15 min, and all the other times the nurses called me in within five. Impressive. -Dr. Kaleb had a consultation with me and my husband in her office before the first appointment started. It was nice to talk a little about our hopes and have questions answered, not just in a doctor's room. -the front desk staff is really friendly and always remembered me and greeted me warmly, and the nurses were pretty darn nice, too. Especially ?Susan? -one bathroom has a little door in the wall that you put your pee cup through. I appreciated not having to walk the hall holding my pee every time :) -The office is nice and clean, with a good selection of updated magazines -Dr Kaleb personally calls with your lab and test results. I still think that's so nice. -the office is right next to Long Beach Memorial, where Dr. Kaleb delivers. Nice to know if you have a problem, you're right there. -you do get a cute little freebie grab bag when you first come in. Definite perk! CONS: -No ultrasounds besides the first transvaginal ones. This was a HUGE con to me for two reasons: 1. It meant for me that there were no ultrasounds at all past 20 weeks. I was fine with Dr Kaleb's explanation that we didn't need them since I was so healthy, until my baby was discovered to be breech at 41w3d at a post dates check up at LBM. Hello, unwanted c-section. :( 2. The two ultrasounds we did do had to be done at another facility. We opted to do the Down's/trisomy 13 testing, so it's possible there's a plan B I wasn't aware of involving in-office ultrasounds, but I think not. Anyway, separate facility=separate(large) bills. Kind of a pain. -I felt like there were several times Dr Kaleb told me what I wanted to hear just to appease me, and then I'd find out that Long Beach Memorial had a different policy. It's possible she just wasn't aware of all their policies/facilities, but it left me feeling like I couldn't trust her any more. -VERY little free parking(a few curbside spots). There's a pay lot right across the street, but who loves paying to park? -As a first time mom, I thought it was a little strange that I had to ask what to do if I went into labor. That's a little thing, but it seems odd not to offer that information early on. Haha... some nervous first time moms know nothing! Personally, even before all of my frustrations with the birth, I didn't feel a huge connection like most of the reviewers. I found Dr. Kaleb very cheerful, brisk, and businesslike, but not super warm. Don't get me wrong--she's still nice. :) Anyway, hopefully this helps! :) read more

After seeing some other Yelpers comments I had to put my two cents in about Dr.Kaleb. Dr.Kaleb is treating me for a pretty intense medical condition with very strong drugs that cause tons of discomfort. Throughout my treatment Dr.Kaleb and her staff have been nothing but kind and patient (and I call them with questions ALOT). Dr.Kaleb is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about her patients well being. In fact, she even calls her patients herself to report lab results. I have never had a doctor do this. In terms of her office staff, they always call me back within the business day and never make me feel like I'm bothering them. Yes, when I was a new patient it took six weeks to get my first appointment but since then I've had no trouble seeing the doctor in a reasonable amount of time. She has always made time to talk to me (either via phone or for an in-person consultation) and doesn't make me feel rushed or like I'm a bother to her. I understand that not everyone will have the same experience I have but Dr.Kaleb and her staff really are unique. read more

Wondeful doctor. Was looking for a new doctor closer to home and trusted yelp to help me. Based on all the great reviews, I tried Dr. Kaleb. She was super friendly and actually sat down with me before hand to see if I had any issues. I have already recommended her to many of my friends. The only drawback is that parking is tough by the office. read more

i wanted to write a review since day one with dr.kaleb but i had to wait until my last appointment with her so i can write about my full experience. my husband found dr.kaleb through yelp. my first visit was amazing, it was my first pregnancy and i was terrified that i will not find a doctor who respects my culture needs because i am a muslim. but i found dr.kaleb to be the most understanding person and she made me feel safe and relaxed. i sat in her office and we talked about the pregnancy. it was really really nice to talk and she explained a lot of things that were new to me and answered my questions. here is what i like about dr.kaleb and her office. 1-dr.kaleb's personalty is amazing, she always look happy to see visitors even if she was having a busy day, i know because i came without an appointment one day and it was really long before she saw me but she was smiling and not stressed or tired. 2.the office girls are wonderful they always welcome me with a smile and it was very easy to reschedule appointments. 3.very short waiting time if none. 4.the office is near to the hospital. 5.they update my file online and they give me a summary of my visit when I'm ready to leave but that just started when i was almost 9 months so i didn't try to use it. .. what i think could improve in dr.kaleb's office: 1.as a first time pregnant it would have been great if dr.kaleb could talk to me in her office every new trimester and told me what to expect and what will change and what does the baby looks like and things like that.. i know this is totally my job to read about what i am going through by myself but i think it would be really nice and special if she did that only to first time pregnant ladies. 2.my nurse was really kind but i cant help but feel like she doesn't like the job. 3. i would love it if i could see my baby every 2 or 3 visits though ultrasound but they don't have that in the office. i realize they need more people to handle the ultrasound and i don't think they have space but maybe in the future. ---- i moved to another state and i just feel like i will never find a better doctor again.. thats how awesome dr.kaleb is.. thank you very much for everything.. arwa alomrani read more

I have never left a review on yelp, but my experience with Dr. Kaleb was so bad that I feel inclined to warn others who might be considering her. Dr. Kaleb made me feel so uncomfortable with her TERRIBLE bedside manner and inappropriate and unprofessional remarks. I have no idea how she achieved such high accolades from other yelp reviewers after the way she behaved. Her rudeness aside, she also seemed to rush through the appointment without ever really listening to me and what I wanted. I felt like my presence was a burden to her from the second our brief appointment started. I recently moved to Long Beach and I had to find a new OBGYN doctor closer to me. I asked my wonderful previous doctor for advice and she told me to meet the doctors, see if I like the facilities and ask questions. I found out I was (four weeks pregnant) pregnant so I had more of a rush to find one. I looked up Dr. Kaleb and loved reading all the reviews. So, I called to make an appointment and they told me they couldn't schedule me until I'm at least eight weeks pregnant, which was fine, but I needed to still meet her first and follow my previous doctor's advice. I found the receptionist a little rude and blunt. I called twice on two different days and both times she was pretty rude, but I kept my cool and I ask if I can at least do a consultation before the appointment and she told me Kaleb never does meet and greets. I'm sorry but if I'm going to choose a doctor who will deliver my baby and be there for possible complications, I think the least thing the doctor can do is meet with me for a few minutes to ask questions. If I wait another four weeks and don't feel comfortable, then I have to start all over again. I wish I could have met Dr Kaleb, but she doesn't give her possible new patients a chance to do so. This is my first pregnancy, I don't know much about being pregnant, I just started reading "What to Expect When Expecting" and this receptionist treated me like I was an idiot for trying to go before my eight weeks, and didn't care to understand why I wanted to see Dr Kaleb before my official pregnancy exam. I called my previous doctor and the receptionist actually explained to me the process I will go through now that I know I'm pregnant (BIG difference on the receptionist attitude and knowledge). She also agreed with me that if the doctor can't even give me a consultation then it's not a place to go when looking who will deliver my baby. I know I didn't meet the doctor and for all I know she can be great. But when looking for a doctor, especially for one who will possibly be with you throughout your pregnancy and during labor, I find it very necessary to meet with them, to feel comfortable, and to have the opportunity to ask questions. read more

She always made me feel at ease and patiently answered all my questions. She made sure to personally call and inform me of every test result. Dr. Kaleb is a wonderful doctor! I have known her for over 3 years now, and she is always very caring and sincere. I chose her as my OBGYN because of her great yelp reviews, and I'm so happy I did. I went through some very difficult months when I first met her, but her kindness and support made what I had to go thru a little easier. I now have an adorable 2 year old, who she delivered, and I couldn't be happier! I still see her as my gynecologist, instead of my primary care doctor, for my annual exams. Although I don't see her as often as I did when I was pregnant, she still always remembers so much about me, and greets me with a smile! Dr. Kaleb is the best ob/gyn I've ever met! She's friendly, considerate, and never thinks any of your questions are stupid. I was referred to her by another doctor (who is just as awesome), and even though her office and her affiliated hospital is not that close to where I live, I would drive the extra miles just to go see her. She delivered our firstborn and she was wonderfully supportive throughout the entire 9-month.
