I'm currently pregnant and knew I wouldn't be able to go back for a touch up for some time. Two months after I got the highlights I had noticed it was growing in very blocky. A few coworkers pointed it out and encouraged me to reach back out to the salon to touch it up. They reminded me that it was not worth what I paid and I should get it fixed. I emailed the salon and their response was they could book me a touch up appointment with no discount. That because we were out of the one week window they were not willing to do anything. Very disappointed! I was hoping to be a long term client.

I had a haircut here, which I ended up waiting for the stylist for over an hour. When she finally saw me she said it was bc some scraggly haired woman with her extensions came in last minute demanding she fix her hair, and so she spent hours re bonding (or whatever the term is?) the hair. I'm not trying to be mean here, but the woman had very fine blonde hair that was bob length and got hair down to her waist. My aside here is ...ladies...can we just love what we have and maybe do any enhancements in moderation instead of totally going overboard with the extensions down to our tushies?! And, yes, I was rightfully upset bc I had an appt and this woman did not, yet I had to wait for my scheduled service?? Totally doesn't make sense. The kicker was when I told the stylist she should have rescheduled me if she was going to be so late, and her response was that she didn't want to lose another customer that day. Welp, she definitely lost me as a customer, because I'd never go back to her. The cut was okay but overall a mind boggling experience and a waste of my time. The other experience I had was getting a facial from an aesthetician. I specifically let her know I didn't want any animal tested or animal products on my skin. And yet, she slapped collagen on my face (and it wasn't marine collagen). She also didn't do any arm or neck massage, which is odd because with all the facials I've had at other places, I've always had a light massage while a mask is on my face. When I asked about the massage, the aesthetician said she leaves the room while my mask is on vs doing a massage. Additionally, she kept using the term "anti-aging", despite me sharing that I'm not against what natural process happens to us all, and I don't like language that makes us hate a natural process. I think (especially in a spa or salon setting) there are far more positive terms we can use to describe caring for our skin. Rejuvenating, refreshing, aging with grace, naturally enhancing...sounds far more from a place of love and acceptance for ourselves than "anti-aging". From both of these less than par experiences, my take away was that I was in a low caliber salon, and not a specialized, leveled up establishment. It's been a year and I haven't returned, nor would I recommend this place to others.

Go see Vanessa at YARA now! I have been a long time client of Vanessa Kauth and followed her from The Parlor to YARA. In the past 5 years I have not let anyone touch my perfect color! let alone comb it, style it, blow dry, etc... let me first say I'm a natural brunette, very dark. I wanted to switch things up and asked Vanessa if I could possibly go blonde? At this she replied, of course! .... What I have walked out with is the best I've ever looked! The blonde is such a natural shade with no brassiness at all! And my hair still feels really good. My cut is amazing, It literally takes almost no effort to look great, which I appreciate being super low maintenance. And on days where I want to spice things up, I know Vanessa will give me the best blow out that lasts all night! I just always feel so pampered when I visit this location. Here's the thing: you want a hair stylist that gets your hair, your style, your lifestyle, your hair issues ... your whole situation. It's hard to find all that! I got totally lucky in finding Vanessa--I read online reviews and to-a-person, people said she listened and styled hair beautifully, and it's 100% TRUE. It honestly feels like she really, really loves to cut and style hair--she's focused, efficient, careful, and she always seems like she's enjoying what she's doing. I have been seeing her for 3 years now, and even though I've moved across the country, she's still my stylist. I found Vanessa in the most random way. It was a warm summer day and I had run to 7/11 to get an ice cold drink. As I walked to my car, I saw a girl walk out of the salon across the street whose hair was stunning. I asked her about her stylist; walked into the salon and made an appt with Vanessa for later that afternoon. Lucky for me -- she had a cancellation. It's been a "beautiful" 3-year relationship. Venessa has done so many things with my hair; cut, color (brown, blonde, pink), keratin treatment -- you name it. I am so happy to have found her. I also followed Vanessa from the Parlor, and was SO excited for her to be in charge of her own shop. Not only is Vanessa very skilled at doing hair, but she seems to LOVE doing hair. She asks questions thoroughly to find out what exactly a client wants. Vanessa is also very personable without being saccharin sweet. I followed Vanessa from the Parlor when she opened her own business. Vanessa is extremely professional and accommodating with my appointments, which is really helpful as I have 3 kids. He clearly explained why certain techniques and styles would work for my curl type and face shape, and he even helped me understand why I've loved some past cuts and not others. With that insight, and just the great conversation we had, he delivered a cut I absolutely love. It's low maintenance (exactly what I asked for), but also super versatile: I can wear it up or down, and it fits seamlessly into my lifestyle. It works beautifully with my curls and exceeds every expectation I had. Bishlam is incredibly kind, deeply knowledgeable about curly hair, and passionate about proper hair care. His wife Amy was also wonderful. Highly recommend Salon B to anyone, especially those with curly hair looking for someone who truly understands it!

I've only been to this salon three times,…read moreand all three times I've had my appointment canceled on the same day, each time with the same excuse. I wait months to get an appointment, plan my schedule around it, and then end up having it canceled at the last minute. Once is understandable--things happen. But having this happen three times in a row, every single time I've booked, is unacceptable. At this point, it's not an isolated inconvenience; it's a pattern that shows a complete lack of respect for clients' time. I've given this salon multiple chances, but I will not be returning. There are plenty of other salons that can provide a more reliable and professional experience.
