Pesto- homemade bread, dense and a bit chewy but not really crusty, with swirls of homemade pesto from another local vendor at the market... the pesto comes through very clearly, it's not overshadowed by the bread at all... this bread is perfect with pasta. Mustard- Real mustard seeds top this loaf, and the taste of mustard isn't overpowering but it's definitely there. This bread makes an AWESOME hot ham and cheese sandwich. I made mine with manchego and thin-sliced deli ham from Martins. I should have put a little arugula in there... would have been perfection. Rye- BRAND NEW FLAVOR. Chef has been experimenting with this one... it's pretty good. Subtle, not too dry for a rye bread, you could make a killer pastrami with this one... no need to slice it thin, the thicker the better. Caprese- Just like what you think it should be- mozzarella, tomatos, and fresh basil rolled into bread. This is the ultimate bread for bruschetta, or bread salad... Cinnamon Raisin- Great for breakfast, this bread is a more traditional flavor, but wonderfully executed. Chef could be more generous with the sugar for my taste, but I'm a bit of a sugar fiend. Bacon and Cheese- Probably my favorite, most versatile of the breads. Surprised? Don't be. First of all, biting into this bread is like biting into breakfast- you really get the bacon and the cheese clearly, in a good way. However, I've been DYING to make french toast with this one because I know it'll make a sweet/savory, unexpected deliciousness. However, I never get the chance to make that because this disappears so GD fast in my house. My mother made chili last week, and we ate it with that. Before that my sister and husband used it to make sandwiches... I've also caught my husband shoveling it down plain, right from the bread box. The only flavors I really haven't been able to try are the ones with olives in them, as noone in my house likes olives but me :( I even tried a chocolate bacon muffin, which was really interesting but not something I'd eat again. The flavor was unique and the balance of sweet and salt was spot on, but the big pieces of actual bacon and the denseness of the chocolate cake around it threw me off... but Chef gets mega points in my book for trying... So this week I am pretty sure that I am trying Curry Raisin, which sounds unique but definitely worthy of some interesting recipes... I'll let you know how it goes :)
