One of the best chocolate chip cookies I've had in my lifetime. I wish I had tried it before I left (or maybe it's good I didn't) as I would have bought a dozen. We were here from out of town for a soccer tournament and stopped in on a whim as I wanted something sweet. The owner was so lovely and said they'd been in biz for 10 years and I can see why. We bought 2 sugar cookies and my 11 yo (an expert in sugar cookies) said it was a 6 out of 5 - best sugar cookie ever! The other one we bought bc it looked like my husband who was not with us. We also got a pb cookie and brownie and though I bought those for the rest of our family who are not traveling with us they may not make it home. Now I'm hoping they are open again tomorrow. I just can't stand how super cute this bakery is! It's all pink heavy, but very awesomely decorated with attention to detail. Sugar Fix Bakery has been around since 2011 and is owned by Melinda Foster. The place offers brownies, cookies, pre-packaged candies, cupcakes, and custom cookies for special events. I bought a couple of cookies (chocolate chip and peanut butter), and a baby chick sugar cookie. The sugar cookie was probably the best cookie I've ever had! It was pretty hefty in size, thick, and the taste was just so so so good! It kind of reminded me of shortbread, but it was super buttery and yummy! The frosting glaze wasn't too much, as it just added a nice subtle sweetness to the cookie. YUM! Staff were super friendly! There was a little mini sofa and a patio chair set, but it seems as if most people take their orders to-go. Another year, another birthday for two adorable twins. This year's theme: a movie-watching party (it was Academy Award weekend, after all), and what goes better with movies than movie-themed cookies! Sugar Fix turned in an Oscar-winning performance with this year's cookies, in the shape of movie tickets and boxes of popcorn. How do you make a cookie shaped like a box of popcorn look like it has popcorn in it? With white chocolate chips, of course! The decorating skills of the bakers at Sugar Fix is truly amazing, coming up with ideas that will fit any occasion. Of course, it's all about the cookie at the end of the day, and the soft vanilla cookies they use for these lovelies are both delicious and make the perfect canvas for their creative designs. I wish this bakery was closer to me! If it was I'd be getting my sugar fix super often. I only needed one cookie to know this place is something special. First off, it's adorable. The inside is painted baby pink as is the outside. They had several frosted cookies on display including some that said Happy Fall! Okay these would be so cute to bring someone to make their day! These cookies make people happy! I saw on their chalkboard that they offer other things like brownies and cakes, but since cookies were on display I got a leaf one. I walked around town and ate my cookie but it was so delicious that I didn't want to finish it. It was soft and sweet. If you live in Richmond this is your reason to head up to Ashland, you need your sugar fix! read more

I don't really do reviews but I felt like I had to make a review on this bakery ... don't get me wrong they are very sweet but the work that they produced could be so much better ... I made a online order for them to make a batch of thank you cookies , it was a gift and looking through their photos their cookies looked amazing ... and price doesn't matter as long as they looked amazing ... so I got a call placed the order , try to explain as much as I can ... You have to visit this place! Ashland is already a pretty cute place, but Sugar Fix has upped the ante. A great place to stop in with the kids on the way to the library or while waiting for the train. The baked goods are made even sweeter by the adorable decorating scheme. We tried sugar and oatmeal cookies, brownies, and veggie rolls and would buy any of them again in a heartbeat. Walking in the front door of this diminutive little shop makes you feel like you just walked into the cutest, coolest dollhouse ever! Loved the whole experience. Will be back - soon! read more

This is by far one of my favorite places to go to for sweet treats. The shop specializes in decorated cookies but also offers a variety of other goodies such as donuts, brownies, homemade rice krispie treats and normal (but still delicious) cookies such as the classics like chocolate chip (my personal favorite). I would highly recommend stoping by if you are in the area! And if you're not into sweets I would go just look around! The shop looks like it came straight out of Candy Land (and they have a few non-sweet options as well). read more

Nice little bakery that is within walking distance to the train station. In addition their cookies and cinnamon rolls, they have Dixie Donuts too. They sell some bottled soda, milk, bottled Starbucks drinks. Just a couple of seats inside (we took ours to the train station). And they are also open on Monday. read more
