Whew! Just this past weekend (Saturday), I came across this ice cream parlor paradise, offering AT LEAST 20 flavors of ice cream and Italian ice. It took me and my friends AT LEAST 10 minutes to decide what we wanted to order; thankfully, Izzy and her crew were extremely patient and were kind enough to give us small samples before we decided on ordering: * Hard Serve - Graham Central Station + Banana Pudding ($6) -- HUGE serving size of toffee, graham cracker, and banana pudding flavor ice creamed that tasted as if my grandma had made it herself. I've never tasted anything like it! * Snowball - Mango-italian icee with dollops of soft serve vanilla ice cream -- a mountain of sweet goodness! * Gone Bananas Brownie Boat - A sweeteater's heaven: a warm, fresh brownie base with vanilla soft serve ice cream, almonds, caramel drizzle and bananas. We visited later in the evening (7ish) and it quickly became busy on not even the hottest Richmond day, but the staff was efficient, friendly, and even re-made my friend's brownie boat when they accidently covered it in chocolate drizzle rather than caramel. I can't wait to return to try some of their Italian flavors!

Cute, ice cream shop that looks like what you would find at the beach. They have a ton of flavors and kinds - soft serve, sherbet, hand scooped, sundaes, floats, snowballs. They also serve food, including some carnival items like funnel cakes and fries Oreos. We sampled a couple ice cream flavors, including banana pudding (tasty). I settled on classic mint chocolate chip and my daughter got a scoop of blue panda and a scoop of graham central station. We will come back to try other items. In RVA, it's a solid option. Maybe not quite as good as Gelati (and has more retro vibe than modern), but I still liked it! I worry about this location for them. It's in the old Cary Town Burgers spot and I'm not sure it has great visibility. Staff was really friendly and prices are reasonable.

I stumbled on this business when driving down Broad St in Short Pump and saw the name and desserts on the LED sign. As soon as I got home of course I looked up the business and went back out to try it the same day (don't judge lol)! You had me at funnel cakes! I was excited to see a business finally open in this old Carytown Burger spot. It's a great corner spot in a popular area, so hoping this business will do well. It's huge, clean, has lots of variety, and friendly employees. They had ice cream, funnel cakes and other dessert, shakes, burgers, hotdogs etc. I wasn't even expecting them to have food, so ordered stuff that don't even go together but are my faves - French fries and a funnel cake. Haha. Both were great, but of course I feel like I need to try the fries with an appropriate meal for a better pallet rating, though good in my book and not many places have waffle fries, so that was another nice surprise. The funnel cake was nice and felt good to get an an indoor place anytime of year and just sit and enjoy it. I just ordered plain with powdered sugar and whipped cream, but did feel like it needed a topping to jazz it up flavor wise. Will prob try a topping next time (and a pic). This is a great addition to the area and I look forward to trying more treats and eats here.

We stopped in on a Saturday night and were pleasantly surprised. We live nearby and didn't know this restaurant had opened. We had friends visiting and they wanted to go for ice cream. The restaurant is clean and well decorated. The staff were all friendly and very eager to help and provide any assistance needed. We had three twisters and a kiddie cup. All were excellent. We would definitely go back again!

The ice cream and service was great! Just go! You won't be sorry and if you want to try something amazing to share get the fried Oreos with soft serve, chocolate drizzle, Oreo crumbles and whipped cream!

Recently opened they offer a wide range of desserts. Hand scooped ice cream, non dairy flavors too, soft serve, mix ins like blizzards, Italian ices, gelati, and classic sundaes. They also offer burgers and hotdogs. Ample indoor and outdoor seating. The service was fast and friendly. Oh, they even offer funnel cakes and fried oreos.

    Food

The food is good and the waiter is nice and there are free refills and the food isn't too expensive and so in budget I most definitely recommend the big scoop

The ice cream was good and filling. The staff were very friendly. The place was playing good music and has a patio out front to sit and enjoy ice cream.

very cute, variety of ice cream, sundaes, and the funnel cakes are amazing! Nice staff.

Used to go to Big Scoop in Williamsburg all the time. When I saw the Short Pump location open, I was very excited. You know what... I visited twice this weekend antd it lived up to every expectation and beyond!!! Same great tasty ice cream. I sampled the Michigan Pothole, it and it was as good as ever (was my go to flavor at Williamsburg location) and the Richmond Big Scoop serves food. So, after having ice cream Saturday evening I went back Sunday for lunch and had the cheeseburger combo with tater tots. The burger was awesome! Grilled just right and it was not some frozen pre-formed patty. It was flavorful and juicy. The bun was fresh and the lettuce and tomato were too. The tots were crispy and golden. All served fresh. What really made it a good experience Saturday evening for dessert and Sunday for lunch was the staff. At both visits different people were working and both days they were friendly, helpful and inviting. Sunday, the person helping me was Pam. She was super friendly and helpful and after bringing me my food, checked back and also told me they were marking cherry lemonade Italian ice in the back and if it was done before I left she'd get me a sample!! You can find a lot of places with good food and even great food, but what sets it apart is the service. The people working there and their genuine pleasantness make the difference. All in all Big Scoop has great dessert, the burger was very tasty and fresh and the staff are friendly and welcoming. A great experience and good value for the dollar too.

This location has gender neutral restrooms. Our order: a SmokeShack burger with extra ShackSauce on the side, a plain hot dog, the free fries with a cup of cheese sauce, a s'mores shake, and a complimentary cup of water. The verdict: The burger was excellent -- very juicy with a crispy, proper smash-burger sear. The ShackSauce wasn't for us -- it has an unfamiliar tang we couldn't quite place (Dijon?), so you may want to taste it first before committing. Fries were fresh and crispy, but I still prefer fresh-cut fries elsewhere. The s'mores shake was delicious, but a suggestion: get wider shake straws! It's nearly impossible to pull the mix-ins through a regular straw. App feedback for management: The app needs cheese sauce and ShackSauce as add-on options for online ordering -- we had to request them in person. Menu suggestions: Hot dog topping options are also limited; relish should be a standard choice, and chili would be a great addition. And personally, we'd love shredded cheese as an alternative to cheese sauce on both the fries and hot dogs. Worth noting why the prices run premium: Shake Shack uses 100% all-natural Angus beef with no hormones or antibiotics ever, and their shakes are made with real frozen custard -- spun fresh with real sugar and dairy, not syrup mix. The "fine casual" approach means fast-food speed with better sourcing, and you can taste the difference in the burger especially. IMHO, we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Only a couple of people in the dining area and about 5 employees behind the counter. When I went to find a seat, the third table I got to was clean, though there was trash on the floor under it. Lemonade was a cup FILLED with ice and topped up with what was a 24 ounce cup with probably 10 oz of lemonade for over $4. Fries were fresh, but the spicy seasoning was too heavy. The hamburger was sort of dry and not all that good. I know McDonalds makes a better burger for a LOT LESS money. At these prices, I was expecting a burger worth writing home about, but it was below McD's quality.

The first thing I noticed is the plastic cups that came with the combo. Very, very flimsy you can not hold it without spilling something.. Looking at the menu, I also see they sell chicken. Waffle fries - they taste like the old school chick fil a waffle fries with seasoning. They were good and cooked fresh. The Classic Bull - huge! The patties didn't taste like it had seasoning on them and the bun would probably be better if it were tasted. however it's still good. I opted for their special sauce on the side because I wasn't sure how that taste. And got mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard on my burger.. after tasting the sauce I could see where it would be good on the burger. The dining room is not real big and there were a few customers in there. Family friendly.. I was surprised that they weren't more busy, especially during lunchtime and the food is not bad. The location is in a decent area with other small restaurants around. Good customer service. Overall I'd give it a 8/10. I'll return here for another burger. Definitely need to try the chicken..

We got our "shakes". I'll leave it at this. I walked back with mine and put it on the counter and told them "Don't do this again, make me wait then give us this cr*p" (forgive my language) I was peeved that after 20 minutes, we waited and we got the wateriest, lukewarm shakes that I've ever had in my entire life. He could have either said the machine was broken or that he was clueless but to call that dirty water a shake was insulting to my intelligence and dang near fraudulent.

They have a very limited menu at lunch so you have a few appetizers to choose from, a few salads and sandwiches and burgers, so straight up American food. It does skew southern with crab cake sandwich, pimento cheese and fried chicken. For an appetizer we decided to try the wings. They were good and came with ranch drizzled over the wings. For entrees my husband got their farm & oak burger with Cole slaw and I got their wedge salad with fried chicken. Both were good. The salad was nice and cold and crisp, which was appreciated on such a hot day. It did have too much dressing so next time I might ask for less dressing or have it on the side. I enjoyed the food, service was good and it is a pretty restaurant. I'll probably come back for supper some time to try some of their more in-depth meals.
