If you've been considering it - do it! I've been considering it for half a decade and am kicking myself for not doing it sooner. This is the only place locally I've found where you can pay as you go. Like many of my generation, I have tattoo regret. Not sure where to go for removal, a friend recommended Vanishing Point- and specifically Helen. I made an appointment for a consultation and she was very thorough in explaining the process, answering my questions, and obviously very knowledgeable about her work. She wasn't pushy at all- but I was ready to get started so we did my first treatment right then. Everyone asks if it hurts... Yes, it hurts. But that tattoo wasn't pain free when you got it, right? So it's not gonna be pain free to get it removed. But I would say it *smarts* more than actual pain... and it's over really quickly. Shakin' in my boots is the best way I can describe even thinking about removing a tattoo. However, the actual experience isn't so bad. So, long story short, my fiancé wanted me to have a tattoo removed and after much thought I agreed. I was apprehensive because it felt kind of like erasing a part of my past but for this particular tattoo, I understood. Jen was very reassuring and informative as well as professional and honest about the potential pain level and the possible amount of times I would have to come back for the removal to completely work. The space is clean and comfortable. It is a tiny bit hilarious that it's in a tattoo shop but hey you can get bad tattoos taken off then get some new awesome ones. The price isn't cheap but it isn't unreasonable and I really don't think it hurts that bad but I have a high pain tolerance. I've had a spot on my cheek from a motorcycle accident 8 years ago that the doctor called an "asphalt tattoo". I've gone to medical spas explaining this and spending lots of money and experiencing a great deal of pain to rid myself of this. Then I thought I'd try a new approach, if it's a "tattoo" from the pigmentation of the asphalt maybe a laser would work! I called and spoke with Jen. She said she has done this type of removal several times, all with positive results. She saw me a few days later. I decided to go thru with the procedure right then. 3 seconds later the "tattoo" was gone. It's a week later and the area is red, which us to be expected, but nothing bad. I don't think I'll need another treatment. There is no signage outside with their name, it's actually in a tattoo shop! Price very reasonable. I was given very a thorough explanation of everything to expect, after treatment care, possible negative side affects which were surprisingly minimal and one week later I have not had any issues. I started my tattoo removal sessions during the beginning part of March. I have a smaller piece on the back of my leg to be removed and also a larger piece on the front of my arm. I was nervous for the appointment, mostly because of the pain that people talk about, and also because of the cost. There was no reason to be nervous, all of my questions and concerns were answered with confidence, and I was totally comfortable the whole time. If you're worried about the pain, in my experience it is no worse than getting a tattoo, and it takes a fraction of the time. Since I am going for a partial removal of the one on my arm, they predicted it would probably take between 3-5 sessions. The complete removal on the back of my leg will likely take 8-10 sessions. I have only had my first session so far, but I am looking forward to going back for my second appointment and making some progress on these tattoos.
