I flew in from California and I can truly say, this has become my favorite spot for lashes. The quality of the lashes is outstanding-lightweight, natural-looking and they are just stunning. They took the time to explain the process and offered helpful suggestions on how to keep my lashes clean and looking fresh. I didn't get that kind of information from a few people I have tried in Southern California. The staff (including the owner) genuinely care about their customers and take pride in their work. I never had a facial before and was a little nervous but also excited! Michael did an amazing job with my facial :) When I entered VBL, I automatically felt peaceful and calm. I was given a robe to change into and led to the esthetician bed. Each product and process was explained to me before putting it on my skin which I really appreciated! I also learned something new about my skin (type + what I can do to take care of it), which is perfect for me since I'm getting married at the end of this year. (Definitely want to take care of my skin before the big day) Warning that you may fall asleep during the procedure because it's just so relaxing lol At the end of the facial, Michael explained and showed the products used on my face. They use products from Toma which is a Maryland-based skin therapy company. (Yay for supporting other local businesses!) A while ago, I had my eyebrows microbladed. They looked great, but the healing process and maintenance was a bit much. I just let the ink fade and stuck with using brow powder. Fast forward a good 8 years, and I am reading a post from a girl I follow for fashion - but that day she decides to talk about her fabulous eyebrows. She too had them microbladed years ago and didn't like it. She has since had them laminated and tinted - and this combo is why she has the most amazing brows ever. Quick like a bunny, I ask Google to give me some deets on brow lamination and tinting in my area (Columbia/Ellicott City, MD). Based on what I'm reading, I decide I'm going to give it a shot. It's affordable, it lasts a good two months, there is absolutely no healing time and if I don't like it, I can go back to my pathetic eyebrows without missing a beat. I land on Vanity Beauty Lounge after my Google search. I pop over to Yelp to see what the reviews say. All the reviews are good and one even mentioned to book with Jennifer Lopez - and that's just what I did. I went to my brow lamination appointment yesterday (tinting is included in this service) and walked in with zero expectations. Zero. I'm not telling you this because I am setting the bar low. I am telling you this because if any part of my eyebrows looked tragic after this service, I would have said to myself " Oh well - no biggie. I'll let it fade away and go back to eyebrow powder." For me, that's zero expectations. But I didn't say that to myself. I looked in the mirror and was blown away. And this was before she tinted them! Don't get me started on how they looked AFTER she tinted them. Whoa. I plan to add this service to my beauty bill. I am almost 55 years old - and my eyebrows have naturally thinned out. I have never plucked or waxed them and they have a natural arch. After my brow lamination with Jennifer, I could feel my bruised ego heal. That's how good they look! Jennifer explained everything as she was working my brows. She was friendly, patient (I was little nervous - she handled me well) and professional. The process was painless and took about an hour from the time I walked in to the time I walked out. If you are reading this and are on the fence about brow lamination, let this be your sign that you should just go for it. Make that appointment with Jennifer and get your life back. This is my second appointment with Michael and this time I had the private spa room and it was so lovely and relaxing. I had a stressful week. I absolutely love this place!!!! I was at Vanity Beauty Lounge twice this week for eyelash extensions and for eyebrow lamination. Rebekah was absolutely amazing with my lashes. She was super nice and professional. I asked for a natural look and now I'm obsessed with how nice and elegant my lashes are! I was very impressed with how delicate she was while applying the extensions on my lashes and I also have to say that I can't feel them at all. At the end of our session, she explained how to take care of my extensions for the next weeks before the touch up. After that, I met with Elise for brow lamination. She was so great! Not only she took her time to make sure that I got the results that I wanted, but she also explained what she was doing during the process. I am crazy about my eyebrows! regret ever going to her my lashes do not last more than 2 weeks ... before her my nova lashes lasted about a month please save your money ... missing Jen wish she never moved to Houston .When I was harassed for a measly 50 dollar deposit whilst at the dentist having a procedure done , the alarm should have rang in my head ... I have been wearing nova lashes for a little over a year now ... unfortunately my previous nova lash artist moved to Texas ... before going to Mal I asked for a natural set (I am a Registered Nurse )from a lash artist (they were too natural looking honestly or what she considered "no lashes" )... I went to Mel n she wanted to charge me an additional 100 ... yes I refused to pay that because I had just paid another artist and before booking with Mel she did not mention her prices were subject to change ... I asked her to do what she could do for the 150 we agreed on... and that is what she did ... they started falling the NEXT DAY.... silly me decided to give her another chance b/c I hadn't found another artist ... before Mel started my second appt I said if you need to charge me full price please do because I wanted the lashes to last longer ... she said no you have enough lashes on... so I'm not sure why she is lying and saying she had to remove a " new artist " work that is not true ... and if she did infact remove the work why did they start to fall again !!! N y not mention you pushing my appt back ... ... I never experienced lashes shedding with my previous artist .... please save your money ladies !!! read more
