I looked at many salons but the reviews were always mixed or the place was also a spa and tried to sell you other services. After seeing several reviews for Total Image and a stylist named Suzanne I decided to book an appointment. Wow! Total Image is a Total Winner. Nice salon, good location and Suzanne totally rocks as a stylist. She made sure I was happy with the length and number of layers before she styled it. So many past stylists have tried to cut my hair really short because I'm older. But I look terrible with short hair. Suzanne cut it as I wanted it. Probably the best haircut I've had since moving to Maryland. I highly recommend this place and Suzanne. Prices are reasonable not high. Just saw this review was posted in the wrong salon- sorry but I didn't go here!

It smells (like dirty towels) and the location got contact with it felt itchy afterwards the smell from the dirty towel remains on my neck as well until I shower at home this should never happen at a four dollar sign salon. Besides that, the store was clean and quiet. My appointment was 1PM - 4 PM. Only two people were working at that time--the two owners. Tbh it was the first time I saw a hairdresser do everything himself--all the preparation, cut, perming, washing, etc. The limitation of staff resulted in lack of attentiveness. During the perm, the medicine touched my face, and overall the experience was not up to the standard. I really hope that they can improve because hair coco has lots of potentials.

I am sooo happy that I FINALLY found a black stylist in Columbia who does AMAZING WORK!!! Coca was very kind, patient, and professional when I called her to get information on the Tape Extension service. This was my first time getting this type of install so I just needed to ask a few questions before booking. Once I arrived, she greeted me and we got started right away. She played great music and we eventually watched a movie. Once I was finished I was so pleased with my results! My hair looks the best it ever has! She gave me a treatment and trim before my Tape Install and the results are super natural looking and beautiful! I have referred some of my friends and family because she offers a variety of services. I will be back for my maintenance in a few weeks. I highly recommend her for your beauty needs. Then the blowout no heat protectant was used and my hair was flat ironed and then curled with this skinny iron giving me these super tight church curls then the only product used was a hairspray that made my hair crunchy. My newly trimmed ends felt dry and brittle. I washed my hair at home the same day only to find my hair was uneven from the trim. I was charged $85 she didn't charge me for the color. I prepaid (which she stated is her standard practice) $460 dollars for tape ins (hair extensions) in advance for my future install appointment. After leaving the salon, I texted Karla (the only form of communication to her) that I no longer wanted the tape ins and would like a refund. It was only a couple of hours on the same day I prepaid that I requested the refund. I even asked if she had placed the order for the tape ins and she stated that she had not placed the order yet. Karla texted back if I was sure, and I said yes, I no longer wanted the tape ins. So, there was a clear understanding that I no longer wanted the tape ins and was requesting a refund. Karla said she would refund my money, but she normally does not give refunds and does not think she can refund (Zelle) back my money, however, since I wanted to be a returning customer, she would make the exception. Make the exception? Why is refunding a customer's money for a product and service that was not rendered is an exception? Then a couple of hours later, I received a text stating that she will be cancelling all my future appointments after she refunds my money. I texted her asking if she could provide a date for my refund. Karla rudely text back that she did not have a date and that she would keep me posted. She had missed canceling one of my future appointment, so I texted her to cancel that appointment so I would not be charge for a 50% cancellation fee she has in her policy. She rudely texted me back to stop texting her. How else am I to communicate?! This is how her business communication notifications and requests are set up. At this point, she was clearly irritated that I was requesting a refund. It has now been over 7 business days and Karla has not refunded my money, nor has she given a date for refund. And at this point, I do not believe she has any plans of refunding my money. Karla completely took advantage of me by taking my money! I have no recourse of getting my money back because I Zelled her the money trying to do the kind thing of paying her a generous tip which some of that money would have gone to the outrageous credit card fee she has for credit card payment. She should feel ashamed of how she is running her business! I just want future customers to know of her unethical business practices and to think twice about patronizing her business!!! I know I will be telling everyone I know to stay clear! BTW - The rating should be zero stars but I cannot post without rating with one star.
