I've waited a month before writing this review to see how my experience would unfold after purchasing my French Bulldog, Coco, from Vanity Pups, and I have to say: my experience with them has been absolutely amazing across the board! I can't find one single thing to complain about.
WALKING INTO THE STORE:
----------------------
It's located in a super cute neighborhood in Flushing. Upon arrival, I was immediately and warmly greeted by a staff member. Meeting puppies is by appointments only, so be sure to make an appointment beforehand! I think they do this to ensure that they can dedicate proper time to answer clients' questions thoroughly and walk them through everything about owning a puppy. This shows they care about the puppy and do not take it as a 5 minute transaction just for the money.
The inside of the store is super cute, clean, with puppies running around, and all the accessories you'd ever need and more. It's where I got my dog's bling (pictured below).
SERVICE
----------------------
The staff is very nice and spends the time to answer all your questions. They even help you navigate being a new dog owner from A to Z, so you really feel supported and not rushed whatsoever. When playing with puppies I was potentially going to buy, I even overhead other staff members on the phone with past clients about their dogs, which let me know that they still keep in touch and are still available to help even after their clients had spent their money and left.
PRICING
----------------------
I had originally inquired about another French Bulldog, which ended up being out of my budget (but it was the price I expected after having done research online). Nonetheless, they were able to accommodate my smaller budget and recommended more affordable little Frenchies. I was very pleased with the flexible cost as it was a little bit below what you would normally see in Manhattan and other metropolitan areas. They also provide financing (except during COVID-19, which is understandable).
INFO
----------------------
The staff walks you through everything about the puppy you are interested in buying:
- Which breeder the puppy came from (with contact info), who transported the puppy, how many were born in that litter, which shots were already given, which shots need to be given (and when), a health certificate from the vet saying that the puppy is healthy, what to feed the puppy, how much, how often, what to look out for in terms of health...etc
- The puppies come with complimentary microchip, NYC dog license, food, collar, leash, dog tag, 1st visit to the vet (within 2 weeks of purchase), and neutering/spaying, full wash before purchase.
- If the puppy had any health complications at the time of purchase or shortly after the time of purchase, I think they have some kind of warranty/money back situation, though I can't remember exactly. It was reassuring as I was nervous to buy instead of adopting (Frenchies are hard to find for adoption). It showed that they were confident in the quality of their pups and they had all the paperwork to prove it.
I was stunned at how full the package was! It was everything to get me started and I felt supported 100%.
ABOVE AND BEYOND
----------------------
The staff mentioned to me that the puppy would need to be spayed shortly after the purchase. When I realized I was only available weekends due to my full time job, they offered to pick up and drop off the puppy. I never expected them to do that, so I was shocked they had offered. This is above and beyond service.
Thank you, Vanity Pups, for making my first dog experience a smooth and easy experience!
PS: the puppy was already 30% potty-trained, which was crazy to me. I expected having to completely teach her how to potty, but she had a pretty good hang of it. Not sure if the breeder taught her a little bit or if Vanity Pups taught her. It's been a month since I've had her (she's 2.5 months) and she is now 100% potty-trained. Maybe I struck gold with a very smart pup? read more
