I had my 2019 Buick Enclave in for an exhaust repair a month ago. When I took it in, I was told that someone would assess the problem and get back with me by the end of the day. The following day, I had heard nothing and decided to call for an update. At first, the rep couldn't find my work order. After about fifteen minutes, she finally found it and said that a technician had diagnosed my vehicle, determined the issue and would text me pictures of the needed repairs. Good. I got the texted pics but they were pictures of a air and cabin filter replacement. No biggie. Easy mistake. The rep assured me that my vehicle would be repaired by the end of the day and that I would be notified when it was completed. No call. None the next day or the next. After four days, I called, only to be told that my vehicle had been ready two days prior. However, when I picked my vehicle up, the exhaust issue was fixed but there was a grinding noise coming from under the front that wasn't there before. I contacted the repair department and told them about the problem. At first I was told that the technician drove the vehicle and did not hear anything. Then I was told that the grinding sound might go away after a day or so. When the sound didn't go away, I called back, only to be told that the problem was there prior to them working on it. They refused to even look at it and hung up the phone. I had a better repair shop fix my car and it runs as quiet as ever. I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone. I take my vehicle to the shop for repairs and maintenance, not to get additional issues. read more

I am writing to provide feedback regarding my visit to your dealership on Friday, April 3, 2026. While I was highly satisfied with the vehicle and the professional service provided by my salesman, David, the experience was significantly marred during the finance process with Kenny Hawkins. During his presentation, Mr. Hawkins insisted that I purchase GAP insurance through the dealership for $1,200.00. When I declined, he became visibly upset and began speaking loudly in the showroom, claiming the purchase was mandatory. My finance company later confirmed this was untrue and had to reiterate this to Mr. Hawkins directly before he would yield. Mr. Hawkins' aggressive conduct was so distressing that I felt physically intimidated and had to leave the building to compose myself. While I was in my vehicle, the sales manager, Luiz, approached me. He acknowledged overhearing the exchange, confirmed the coverage was not required, and offered it at no cost. I ultimately completed the transaction with a trainee named Tyrone and declined the GAP coverage through the dealership as to not have Mr. Hawkins gain any commission. Despite my satisfaction with the vehicle and David's assistance, the interaction with your finance department was deeply troubling. I trust this matter will be addressed appropriately. Took my 2016 GMC truck to have an alignment done. Had a 12:15 appointment and was there at 12 and they didn't even take the truck back till almost 1. What's the point of the appointment? Then when it was taken back I was lied to saying it would only take about an hour and it took them well over 2 hours to complete it then while I was standing up front the red headed tech that was working on it pulled out to the road to test drive to make sure the alignment was good and he got on it leaving the parking lot RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! Absolutely ridiculous and disrespectful behavior to act like that with someone else's property and that's how you guys conduct business? Absolutely pathetic. Purchased a 2024 1500 Silverado High Country truck from them last September. Fully loaded. Took it in for vibrations over 65 mph. Told me my tires were feathered. After having new tires and an alignment performed by them, which was subpar, I still experience the same vibration. I have filed a claim with BBB Auto Line. On Friday 8/15, we went to Vann York GMC to test drive two vehicles. The sales associate, Lynn Mallow, misrepresented available inventory. She attempted to steer us to a preowned vehicle by claiming they had no new stock. She only stopped when my son advised her he had reviewed the online listings and already walked the lot to confirm they were there. She misrepresented features that were not on the VIN I purchased. She misrepresented a $1495 dealer package's cost breakdown, which was in actuality just the destination charge of $1395 plus $100 for advertised as free services and the floor liners. She refused to honor the advertised price, incorrectly stating first that it was a different VIN, and failing that attempt, then that the dealer had added extra features. She inflated the trade-in value of my vehicle after we insisted on the advertised price. We assume she did this to retain more commission from the resulting higher sales price before trade-in. She then told us my vehicle better be in "mint" condition. She misrepresented my credit score during disclosure, stating it was 714, and that it was low, to excuse unfavorable loan terms. The actual score was 814, confirmed by Experian. She delayed the sale by over 5 hours, so that we would have to bring the trade-in the next day. The following day, she had called in without making arrangements for our appointment with other staff. We stood in the middle of the showroom for nearly an hour without assistance after asking for help. My email had been keyed incorrectly during the sale, resulting in all documents being sent to the wrong email. Fortunately the email address was unclaimed. The sales staff wanted us to just leave our keys and title to the trade-in on the corner of an unattended desk and leave. My son then requested the general manager, Joseph English. He was very professional, and went out to assess the trade-in personally, and provided handwritten confirmation of receipt. This ended up being necessary, as my husband was named first on the title, and Mr. English made arrangements for him to sign the title at his rest home over an hour away. The following Monday, Lynn called to apologize for her absence, but when my son mentioned the additional concerns, she became irritated and hung up on him. My son called the dealership, and Mr. English assured us he would handle this. Lynn called again on Wednesday as if nothing had happened. My son advised her that we had asked Joseph for no further contact from her, and she again hung up on him. Two weeks later, she had not contacted our insurance office as promised during the sale. I've previously written about my experience so far with my 2024 Yukon, and the current recall issues with the 6.2 V8. I have tried several times and by several different means to get in touch with High Point to no avail, so decided to try to get in touch with Asheboro. Went to see about trading in the Yukon and was offered $10,000 below KBB, and $5,000 below their own online trade in appraisal tool. The sales manager specifically said he was nervous to take the vehicle back because they may have to sit on it for 60+ days while GM provides them with an engine. To me this means GM is saying internally that the engines are no good and are unfixable. Either GMC can fix it or they can't, and they need to be honest with their customers so that we're not left holding the bag on a very expensive car. I would be happy to take KBB or even their appraisal tool and trade on another new GMC without the 6.2 V8, but not at a significant loss on the Yukon for problems that are GM's fault. Dealerships have a lot more bargaining power with the manufacturers, and more resources for the repair (not to mention they won't be left with no vehicle for 60+ days), and they are proving that they are unwilling to stand up for their customers. read more

This is only about the service department, specifically the GM side. I am an automotive professional so I am speaking from knowledge and experience. I have had 3 warranty repairs and 1 maintenance performed at Vann York. All 3 warranty repairs were done on time and as quickly as parts were supplied. The shuttle took me to and from work and they returned my car to my shop. The service was excellent and fair priced. I needed a new tire and alignment and they matched and beat the best tire price I could find. One of the warranty repairs was diagnosed and fixed after another GM dealer gave it 4 tries and couldn't get it right. I was very impressed with Todd and Johnnie. Highly recommended. read more

I Looked at buying a new GMC 3.0 Diesel truck the engine platform IS NEW. Not being familiar with this engine I asked salesman (Rod O'Conner) if the engine had any reported problems...? He stated: "No Sir great engine". I gave them a deposit with the stipulation it was refundable in case I decided not to purchase, he stated "Of course it is". In less then 24 hours I found out the engine has major manufacturing defects so much so that GM has suspended the building of this engine indefinitely. I called and advised the salesman I no longer wanted to purchase the vehicle because of these issues and wanted my money refunded. He had the sales manager Zach call me who proceeded to become hostile and arrogant yelling and telling me he wasn't refunding my deposit. This dealership stole $500.00 from me and I am in the process of calling corporate GMC to get my money back as well as a dispute with my CC company and small claims court if I have to. Avoid this dealership at all costs ...!!! Update: 02/08/2022 as of this date your dealership has NOT REFUNDED my deposit. Actually, I have had to launch a dispute against your dealership with my Credit Card company who has informed me that your business is fighting the return and refusing to issue a refund. The complaint had to be escalated to the dealerships bank level in order to facilitate a refund. You have stolen and held my funds for a month with no end in sight. Vann York is cunning and lying to many customers. They are selling warranties and other add ons by using immoral sales tactics. They will keep you there 6 hours and play games to make money off of finance. This place is a criminal organization and has been for years. I ordered 6 cars and when the first one arrived, I got my own financing and was treated like a criminal and called a scammer. They made me wait 2.5 days to verify check which was from an institution they deal with. Then when check arrived they claimed they didn't receive it. On 7/19 I made a deal on a 2022 Silverado pickup. The dealership was going to clean the truck and check on a rats nest that was under the hood. Admittedly , I had to leave in a hurry because of a work meeting. Later in the day I called my sales person to confirm that things were good and he said it was. I said is there anything else you need from me and he said no. The next day I noticed the truck was no longer listed on the website. I called to confirm with my sales person that the truck was still available and that the deal was still good. He confirmed that it was. Again I asked him if he needed anything from me and he said no. I asked when the truck would be ready and he said Monday or Tuesday. On Monday I called the dealership to ask when I would be able to pick up the truck and they said it sold 7/19 and has already been delivered. I was a little shocked to hear this because I did not have the truck. I asked him to clarify, and he said the trucks been delivered and they no longer have it. I asked him how it could be sold when I was the one buying it. The salesman said I don't know I wasn't here Friday. I asked to speak to the general manager, Joe English. When I finally got hold of him he was of no help. All he said was he sorry that happened. My family is purchased over 15 cars from York over the years. When I mentioned this to Joe, he didn't care. He acted as if it was no big deal. With his attitude, I said, do you know what we will never buy another car again? Everybody knows car dealers don't care. This email was sent to corporate more than once with no response ....Less than a week into ownership, I traveled and when I arrived and attempted to turn the vehicle off the car stated the key was not detected and I was unable to cut the car off. At this moment, I immediately went on google to learn, I could put the key in the cup holder and the transmitter would connect, as it did. Once, I stepped out of the vehicle, I was unable to lock the doors. Upon return to the vehicle 2 hours later, I was attempting to start the car and the car was non responsive. Once again, I put the key in the cup holder and the vehicle connected. I had to continue to do this throughout my trip over the weekend. There also became a point, I would be locked out the vehicle and would have to wait for hours before the car would recognize the key was close and connected before I could enter to start this entire process. As you can imagine, traveling with car issues is not only embarrassing but, highly unsafe and concerning. Contacting Vann York the following Monday, I spoke with a gentleman who was rude and abrasive and very unconcerned this was my experience. He advised to bring the car in on that Tuesday as I did with great frustration and left it overnight while I had to coordinate transportation for my children and I for our normal activities. Andy Beaman, said they reset the dash and advised not to plug anything into the vehicle (ex. phone chargers) and didn't think there were any other issues. Well, the very next weekend, I had the exact same issue, stranded in another city. I contacted Cameron Thomas (always pleasant to work with) and he advised he coordinated with Andy Beaman again, to get the car serviced and would coordinate a loaner vehicle for the inconvenience. Upon arrival at Chevy, I spoke with Patrick (last name unknown) who was completely oblivious to my needs and arrival and was not very pleasant. I then connected with Andy, who is always pleasant but was too unaware. While in the service bay, Andy experienced first hand of the electrical issues and was also baffled and advised he would get it handled immediately. I was dropped off at work by your shuttle driver (very nice gentleman) and waited for Andy's call about the loaner vehicle. Once again, I had to take off work (Greensboro) to go back to Chevy (High Point) to pick it up. Almost 2 weeks in the shop, and 1 set of new keys, I was given back my vehicle on Friday August 12th to only drive home to Jamestown and to stop at the gas station to be stranded once again. Nothing plugged in, no changes by me made, embarrassed and concerned that I was stuck at the pump. This time, I called Andy immediately (5:05pm) to advise the issue was happening at that moment. I put the key in the transmitter and was able to start the vehicle once connected but, the car immediately said "no key detected" as I am sitting in the vehicle with it running. Andy advised to come back MONDAY!. I say all this for you to understand the insensitivity and lack of respect of my time and intelligence. I turned in a almost 10 year vehicle (Another Equinox that I brought from Vann York in 2014) to find stability and upgraded features. I returned to you because, of the trust and relationship I have built with you all over the last several years and never would have expected to be in this situation. I feel as though I have been very flexible, reasonable and accommodating to all of the request made by your staff but, I no longer want to be apart of the back and forth. As a result of this experience, the General Manager (who was an absolute A**)made me purchase a new vehicle (Or I would be without one) instead of upholding their service agreement which was covered under the warranty just to get a resolution to this hell I experienced with the staff at Vann York. They have ruined an 8 year relationship with several referrals and left a mother and her children stranded several times all because they thought they could get over on me and give me low level customer service. read more

They let me test drive the car, take it to get checked out by my mechanic, bring in my trade-in, and let me wait about 30 minutes to close the deal before telling me the price was $3500 more expensive. Of course, he's about selling a car - it's his bread and butter, but he does go that step beyond for the customer and even offers assistance with "the basics" of the vehicle post sale. Best price imaginable. I am a fussy person - so I called around. Believe me, it's good. Overall process makes the entire purchase simple. We were out quickly with our new car. Service had been EXCELLENT. Guys in the shop have done both warranty and preventative maintenance and have never missed a beat. Dealer is strongly recommended. I thought about trading at the end of this year so I looked back at my paperwork from the sale and realized that they had charged me for the extended Powertrain warranty. That wouldn't be a big deal except the manager Brian had told me he would give me the warranty at no charge. I didn't catch it when we were doing the paperwork, mainly because i was the only customer left and the finance guy was rushing through so he could leave. I take part of the blame for not checking the paperwork closer but the charge never should have happened. I wasn't going to buy the truck until Brian told me he would throw in the warranty. They sale you something way out of your league and then tell you that the dealership will work with you by selling you something within your budget. They kept my family member in suspense for an entire week, he was told he could return this car and get something more reasonable. After several calls all week he then was told they couldn't help him. No one there kept their word. We had absolutely no idea what we were in for, but Clay, reluctantly at first, took us by the hand and showed us the ropes. He was great to test drive cars with and when we got back to the dealership, we were ready to talk numbers. Since it was a slow day, Clay and his coworkers made it even more fun for us. We ended up forming relationships with every salesman (even Steve, believe it or not) and would definitely recommend them to other people. Do not use Vann York! If I could give negative stars I would. We bought a 2017 GMC Acadia Denali and that experience was great. However, their service manager and their tech's are terrible, rude and have no freaking clue what customer service is or how to fix anything correctly. First problem was a squeaky back seat. Their fix was to stuff the underneath of the seat with foam. Finally after having it in service dept there 4 or more times, they replaced the seat rails and fixed it properly. Then there was a "Shift to Park" engine light that came on and the vehicle wouldn't shut off even though it was in Park. This warranty issue turned into another 5 trips or more in their service dept because their tech broke the center console on the first trip when fixing the warranty issue. Then the parts to replace the center console didn't match the other interior trim pieces. When the tech would put in a new one each time (that didn't match), he buckled the center console piece once, then the 4th time, he failed to secure the Hazard Light and the Traction Control buttons on the console and when pushed, they would fall in. On the 5th time, I was there to get those buttons fixed and asked to show the Service Manager Andy B. that I had found the trim pieces to match that he said he couldn't get and that is when Mr. Andy B. went off on me! He went ballistic because I told another couple in there that they probably shouldn't get their car fixed there as Mr. Andy was yelling at me and his service writers to get my keys and get out! He told me to take my car to another dealer because he wasn't going to fix my car. Remember that HIS TECH broke my car more than once!! Mr. Andy then took me in his office behind closed doors and yelled at me some more. We placed called to their Sr. Customer Serv. Rep Yvonne and placed a complaint. We asked that she and Mr. York called us back. We have heard nothing in over a month! We have also called GM in Detroit and filled complaints against this dealership and Mr Andy B. read more

Not only are the cars top quality, but the customer service at Van York is top notch. And let me tell you why. I purchased a 2017 Camaro about a year ago. Shane was an excellent salesman, and wasn't one just looking to make commission. He made sure this car was the one I really wanted before buying. Great car by the way. Ive gotten the car serviced at this location about 3 times already, and excellent service each time. This past service was above what I expected. As a very busy man, I have been unable to drop my car off for an oil change. A few days ago, I send a text to Shane asking him If he could pick up the car from my job and have it serviced... Less than 5 minutes passed, Shane was at my Job waiting out front for my car. Unbelievable customer service there!!!! I've owned a Nissan for years, but Chevy will have my business. Van York Chevy has earned 5 stars.. And if you are ever out looking to purchase a new vehicle, I highly recommend Van York on Eastchester in High Point.
