I bought some shoes and tried them on and walked around 30 steps. They are very uncomfortable and places that shouldn't be uncomfortable. I try to return the shoes here and they look brand new and they refuse to accept my return with my receipt. I'm going to escalate this to corporate. The staff would not reveal their name, nor would they try to reason with me so this place gets a big one star for me and it's a shame because it was my sponsor when I was raised to be a max and I've also worked with vans and Michael De Wit Creative Director for seven years so this is a shame vans will not get my money anymore. I stopped by because it was time to surprise the little dude with new shoes. His high top s8 shoes lasted him 2 solid years & finally the zipper in the back got so difficult to zip, it was overdue. I wanted the SK8 midrise reissue in a size 8 but they didnt have it. There was a super cool guy that assisted me immediately (Jensen I think?) & informed me he could order them online with free shipping. The worst vans ever. The young gals who work there are so snobby and not willing to help and aren't like vans vibe, vans cool like the other locations. Very much rush you and make you feel like you're annoying them. Also they have boxes of merch all over the store front like they can't manage, organize and prioritize both sales and stock. Located inside the Buena Park Mall (aka Buena Park Downtown), this Van's Tennis Shoes store is probably one of the main attractions at this location. C'mon, this mall doesn't even have a food court. I rarely purchase Van's Tennis Shoes, not cause I don't like their style, but because I happen to fall right in between sizes. Sucks to be me, huh? Cause, I really like their patterns and their Off The Wall line, which is slightly more fancy and trendy. What got my attention today, along with the positive rating, was not the service nor the location itself, but the 2 new shoe lines that they were displaying. I've been a fan of Vans shoes since the 80s but haven't worn any for a while because I only associated its style with BMX and skateboarding. I didn't get back into purchasing its shoes until about three years ago when I started shoe shopping for my daughter. I didn't realize Vans had progressed so much in its style. It's nice it has stayed true to its roots and kept many of its original styles while adding some new, more mature designs for old folks like me. I always end up picking up some pair for myself every time I get new shoes for my daughter. Although these aren't the most durable shoes around, I just love the vibe and design. Vans always has a new theme that comes our every few months. During my most recent purchase the theme was Snoopy, and little before that was Star Wars. I can't wait to see what Vans comes up with next. If you go to its website you can even design custom shoes. This is one of the smaller Vans locations but I like coming here because it's convenient and service has always been great. I received great customer service at all Vans locations but I got little extra attention from this store, although it may be due to slow foot traffic at this location. It's located inside the Buena Park Mall (or Buena Park Downtown), which is why this location isn't that busy. Probably the best way to find it is by entering the mall from where the movie theater is located. You can avoid parking and traffc issues if you enter the parking lot from Stanton instead of La Palma Avenue. read more

In the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic in central California it is impossible to buy a good pair of shoes locally, everything has to internet orders. My teenage daughter got hired at local grocery store and needed a pair of all black shoes that are comfortable for all day on her feet. No problem I will order some Vans from Vans, WRONG! They said it could be up to a 48 hr delay and we calculated for that. The issue is the shoes did not move for 5 days! Then shipping went from Saturday delivery, to Monday, to Tuesday delivery. The shipping Vans chose to use (I did not have an option) does not deliver on Mondays for whatever reasons not explained to me (a solid 7 days after they were ordered). Give us options on freight because you obviously are not in any hurry! I had to drive 20 miles to go pick them up at the hub this morning because we could not trust that they would even be delivered. Really not impressed! There are millions of people looking for work if you are short handed. Sketchers next time! read more

I would like to tell you about my recent experience at one of your store in Orange County the Buena Park Mall location. I haven't owned a pair of Van's since I was in junior high, if I ever do purchase tennis shoes I buy Nike's. I came to the store with the intention of getting leopard print Vans. Upon walking into the store I was greeted by Bobby and another associate. Bobby asked me if he could help me find anything in particular and I asked if Van's carried leopard print shoes. He kindly informed me, "that in store they are unavailable but I can custom order shoes online if I was interested." Bobby showed me the women's section of the store. I went ahead browsing in the store and found some shoes that caught my eye. He kindly got me the shoes I needed in my size, he also offered if I would like him to lace up my shoes. Bobby also recommended some socks that I should buy for my shoes that would not roll down. I find it so refreshing going into a store that I at times feel out of place to go in and find such amazing customer service. I know most of the time when people email corporate it's because of something bad not good. Thank you Vans for having such a good staff at the Buena Park Mall.
