Kim is awesome!! She knows how to shape and clean up your eyebrow! Worth the wait. I would recommend going in the morning on a weekday.

Not on the best part of town, nor the cleanest place, however the lady does an amazing job with waxing eyebrows. She shapes them very well and everyone that I've seen comes to this place mainly for eyebrows. One thing that I've observed is that all of their clients (for eyebrows) are always satisfied. read more

I've always had my eyebrows threaded, I tried a few places in Bakersfield and went bad. Gave waxing a try with Kim (after being referred here by a friend) She did an AMAZING. Job. You to tell her how you want them, I always tell her "Not to thin please" and that is all and makes my brows Beautiful. I love Kim. She's the reason why I go to Vans Nails. Her eyebrow skills are beyond compare to anyone else here in town. She shapes my eyebrows perfectly and makes sure I don't have any baby hairs left behind from the wax (she is painfully thorough). The price isn't bad either. In fact, it's cheaper than most places. Sometime the wait can be a little long, but that's because she is really good at what she does. It's not so busy during weekdays when everyone is at work/school. Prepare to wait during weekends. My suggestion? Time your visits. Best time to go is when they first open up or when they are about to close. I have been going to this place for a very long time (at least 8 years) and I have never seen any of her customers leave without a smile on their face.... I've been coming here for my eyebrows for few years now, a few of my friends had problems with Kim messing up their eyebrows, it had never happend to me till yesterday morning. I was the only one at the salon she rushed on my eyebrows and now one is thinner and shorter than the other one she did not trim them with the Lil scissors, she left wax on my face all because she was on her phone talking. I did pay but will never go back. I now need to let my eyebrows grow back out and find someone new. read more

This place gets busy but is reasonably priced and worth the wait,the only place I get my eyebrows waxed.

I've been here several times already. The place is nothing nice to look at and the wait is anywhere from 5mins - 2hrs(that's the longest & shortest I've waited personally). There's no specific time to go it's always up in the air. It was $25 for a full face. Very good prices, the place is crappy & wait is super stupid sometimes but once she does your eyebrows it will all be worth it. That's how good she is. read more

Best eyebrow lady in town hands down. The wait can sometimes be long but thats to be expected when your dealing with someone as skilled as Kim... The place is kind of a mess but thats because the owners live in another country and is really just worried about collecting rent from Kim and her husband. read more

I'm seriously so annoyed right now it's not even funny. Ok so I think this place is owned by a couple or something there's always a woman and man. The woman does the eyebrows and the man does literally nothing. He makes sure u take a number and collects money which I'm sure the eyebrow lady can do all by herself. This is like my 3rd or 4th time here. The first time the eyebrow lady was watching her viatnemese soap operas while doing my eyebrows and pausing to watch it. I felt like I was there forever..on top of that she almost always has a lot of people waiting for her cuz ya she's that good. Today I'm especially peeved because this guy is speaking viatnemese on his phone and the lady he's talking to is on speaker phone! It is so unprofessional and so annoying. This place does not do nails so don't think they do. It should be called vans eyebrows even tho van doesn't do anything! I just can't anymore and if it wasn't for her being so good I wouldn't endure this. I don't care what language it is it's not professional or cool to talk on the speaker phone for that long so that everyone can hear your conversation and you're yelling at your phone. Go into the other room if u really need to talk on the phone! So I was writing that in the waiting room. Just got my eyebrows done and the lady asked if its my first time which she does every time I go..do u know how many Asians there are in Bakersfield?! Not that many! How does she always forget me? Best in town when she's not watching tv, talking on the phone, stopping to eat or txt. Been going here over a yr and she's messed up my brows abt 3x's. The third time, she said it's because my eyebrows are different; which is funny bc she waxed them perfectly all the other times. They also have roaches pretty bad. I walked out the wax area and spotted her husband spraying raid around the microwave. The roaches are all over, all sizes. Pretty gross. If they get rid of the roaches and if Mrs.Kim spent more time focusing on the client, I would easily give five stars. read more

I have gone here for over a year. M's. Kim hates to see me coming. First of all I sit in my walker because I won't lay on the bed she has. I remember coming once before my walker was necessary and the white towel was nasty from repeating of shoes. I asked her to at least turn it over. However a few weeks ago she told me that I am never satisfied. And that I can do my own eyebrows next time. I was too done! I am always an advocate for small business but a business needs to have great customer service as well as appreciate feedback. I always try tp let the business know about my experience BEFORE I share it with anyone else as opposed to just stop using their sevices. I had just went thru stomping on two baby roaches before getting called back and yet stayed only for her to have one eyebrow higher than the other and to be told that I was hard to please? So I called back to be clear on her communication about me doing my own eyebrows as she told me not to tell anyone that she did mine. Her husband answers the phone and I ask if her statement was telling me not to come back? He said that if I am not happy... but to let the professional do the work. He then bragged about her 31 yrs of experience. Oh that made me more upset because if she has that much experience and thinks she is the best in town, she should WANT to make sure that I can be proud to tell anyone who did my eyebrows. But she got upset that I found something wrong with her work. Then her husband tells me that Americans don't always tell the truth and they will say they look good when they don't. Almost lost it on that too but told him that THIS American told the truth and she didn't seem to appreciate it. Then he said I can come back and that I don't have to lay down. (I didn't anyway, but thought maybe that was her problem) I told him I would have to pray about that. I didn't even go into the bugs. However I see from other reviews I am not alone. They acted as if I WAS the problem when clearly they are not caring to correct and satisfy the customer. So rude. And now I have decided to share my experience with others. She may be good most of the time and quick but she needs to care about people. When you hand someone the mirror be prepared to see what they see. read more
