With their limited hours during the weekday and residing up in the far northern Chicago suburbs, he was very kind to stay 15 minutes past closing time for me to come in and make a purchase. Pretty slimy sales people. They sell 'special edition' provaris that are just the different colored ones you can order right off of provape. They also shit talk customers that are in the store. I dropped by to see what they had, and my girlfriend overheard the short fat one telling the girl that I was annoying when I was asking questions about rebuilding. Spend your money elsewhere. Cignot isn't too far away for you burbanites, and if you want expert level knowledge of mech mods, go to Vape on the west side. *edit* - 12/10/2013 A few weeks later a friend of mine went in to check the place out. He was told that they are getting a bad rep because of "That girl at (competitor)". This is of course incorrect, they're getting a bad rep because they are talking poorly about customer and sell low end gear. The owner, Chris, reached out to me about this review. Unfortunately he wasn't interested in listening to me. He cut me off constantly, made accusations of assault, and was extremely confrontational. Why anyone would take the time to reach out to a customer concerning a bad review only to yell and scream at them is beyond me. The conversation was pretty enraging. He asked if I had overheard the shit talking, I explained to him again that it was my girlfriend that over heard it. He then went on to say that I can't say it if I didn't hear it. He had trouble understanding that he was suggesting that my girlfriend was a liar by saying that. Based on the reaction to the review, and the continuing issues, I am going to STRONGLY recommend you spend your money elsewhere. What a cool shop! I felt like I instantly got way cooler walking in to this real chill, clean, trendy shop. I must say that I am quite impressed with the knowledgeable staff at VapeCity Chicago. I went in there to buy a Vape for my brother's birthday. Per usual, I went in there with my barrage of questions only a knowledgeable Vaper would be able to answer. Being a non-vaper, I did my online research. Ben, the co-founder, answered all my questions as well as added his recommendations. He kindly took the patience to show us all our different options as well. Once my brother chose a vape it was time for the next step, choosing a flavor. VapeCity has a vape juice "flavor buffet" out for you to try. There are so many different kinds. One thing that I found amazing is that they have specialty Filipino flavors such as Sago, Ube, Buko Pandaan. The staff makes choosing a flavor between like 70 flavors a breeze. They really assess your wants and needs. The liquid flavors aka "juice" can either come with nicotine (levels vary on how much you smoke) or zero nicotine (for all you vape enthusiasts who don't want the nicotine). They really cater to all different types of people. Ben also showed us how to care for your vape, safe charging, and assembly. The vape and juice prices are very competitive with most online Vape stores that I had researched. I think that that's really a great advantage that VapeCity had rather to online stores, you get to touch, taste, feel- rather than getting the unknown with the same, if not better, pricing. In summary: Laid back environment, knowledgeable staff, good flavors, and great prices. They offer a healthier "smoking alternative" and "just vaping" for people who don't want the nicotine (non-smokers) but enjoy the mouth feel of the flavors. Great for gifts too! The absolute go to for all things vape. I recently started vaping and wanted to know the safest and best way to go about it. Also had no idea about the differences in the various types of pens and juices. Ben walked me through the science behind each of the options and even recommended what he felt would be best for me to start with. Also did not try to up price me or take advantage of me not knowing anything. Much better aesthetic than your normal run of mill "smoke shops" as well, has a very clean modern touch to it just like the new dispensaries. Moved to chicago...Skokie to be exact...and was in desperate need of a new vape shop....fpind vape city Chicago so close to home and thought id check it out. Best thing i could if did that day. The staff is so friendly and down to earth. Didnt mind spending all the time i needed them to spend with me sharing the knowledge they have on vaping. And the huge selection they have . the differences of the different size mods..tanks...and coils. Also what to and not to do with the vapes we chose for me. Yes vapes. Not at all necessary to have more than one for one person. I just wanted two because i know how often i use one and wanted a back up. Well their of such great quality i never once have had a need to pull out the backup one. I just swap them out here and there because i love them so much. This is a review based on the several times that I've been to this shop. I've gone in several times before with my friend. Some days they're nice, welcoming, cool to talk to. One time in particular, I lost my battery and was super pissy about losing said battery after a long day of work. I went there and the guy who sold me my new setup was extremely cool about it. I talked to him about my day, we talked about different cartomizers and it was a pleasant experience. I was able to get what I wanted and he even got me to sign up for their rewards program. And then there are the other 80% of the times I go there. They don't greet me or my friend, they give us short answers that aren't at all helpful. I asked a question about if they had any raspberry kind of liquids. Instead of suggesting anything remotely close or even trying to help me find something, he simply says no. My friend was buying liquids and asking questions and they weren't very nice with their answers. My friend bought a build and he later told me that he fixed it at home because they didn't do it the way he wanted. The same day that the build was happening there were two other guys working there that were sitting on the table, completely ignoring us, and watching a movie on the television there. Anyway, I like the products they have. They have saved me a lot of money many different times. Their liquids are good (when they actually suggest things). But their service is very lackluster. More than half the time, they don't seem welcome, they don't answer your questions, and they just generally aren't friendly. We walked in today, 6 guys sitting at the table. Only the guy at the end kinda greeted us, but not in a manner that was open to assist us. We head straight to the juices. A female came around the hallway and walked around us and just sat on top of the back counter and just watched us. It took my partner to say hi to her before she responded. I looked at her and just smiled. She smiled back, but nothing was said while my partner is looking through the case. We've already bought vapes at several locations for family members, and wanted to see what selections that this location had. There were no other customers there. Three employees are now behind the counter, one stocky guy at the register counting money, one black employee who just came around the corner from the hall, talking to someone about some hoodie he bought from them, and the girl is still sitting on the back counter. She had on Amy Winehouse eye make-up on. (Descriptors are there for you to identify your own employees for not making a sale that we were ready for.) The guys sitting on the table were doing crafty vape things. --------- Very bad customer service. Not one extended any assistance, so my partner eventually said thanks and we left the establishment. I would recommend the owner to coach his employees on their failure to make a sale today and teach them what proper customer service is. I do give you props for listening to Little Dragon while we were there, but you guys need to work out some things if you want to have better reviews from consumers. read more

Its about time a shop opens dedicated to vaping. I went here over the weekend and was very pleased. i used to get all my stuff online but now i dont have to. i can just come here for my stuff. Prices are comparable to online. They have tons of e-cig batteries, mods, tanks, and e-liquids. Clean shop, great atmosphere. These guys are very knowledgeable there. The best thing about this place...they have all the e-liquids on display for you to try so your not blind sighted when you go home if a certain flavor tastes good or not. DISCLAIMER: I don't vape, but my boyfriend does. My sister was the one who introduced him to vaping, thus ending his pack (sometimes pack and a half) a day of Marlboro Reds habit (Hallelujah). I have been with him to other "smoke shops" that sell vaping stuff, but they are usually bong and pipe shops (real talk). Vapecity isn't that sort of place. Pros: Staff is A+. Friendly, knowledgable, funny, PATIENT and hard working (from the 2-3 times we went) Store is cool. The music (90's Hip Hop) spoke to me on a deeply personal awesome level. Location is good on a fairly busy street The product, according to my bf and what I've seen as an observer, is good. The times my bf needed help with an issue he was having with his stuff they were really friendly and their juice is good, and lasts awhile. Cons: Location but only because of the horrific construction that was being done on Oakton. If this is finished, disregard this as a con. One thing I found a bit unsettling. There are a lot of people sitting around and the place, or girls walking around in slippers (?) kind of... hanging out? I know that they also have the dance studio next door (which seems really cool) and I know these guys are younger, but that extra little bit of professionalism and "tight ship" attitude could blast these guys through the roof if they just worked on their staff/people situation. The store also had a bit of dust, or it wasn't very "neat" like the floors could use a sweep and the counters/furniture could use a wipe, (the Diversey location didn't seem to have this issue when we went, but it had just opened). So it kind of felt like when you walked in, that you showed up to a house party in someone's cool newly redone basement that you may or may not be welcomed at. I'm assuming the older people in the "crew" know this, but the younger people walk around very casually. Ok fine, that's great, but just that little extra bit of professionalism would be a cherry on top of a really cool place. I'm grateful this place exists. It's a sign of good things to come. My boyfriend loves it, he vapes continuously and I don't think he plans on going back to smoking. So Yay. read more

Went here yesterday night for the third time. The first two times the service was ok, I bought a tank battery and flavor. Price was ok but the customer service was not really there. So I go in there the other night and there were little kids, under 18 years old, probably under 16! And they were vaping with their mom! Seriously? I think I'm going to call skokie village hall. Anyways, they had no flavor I wanted, swirly pop bonfire scooby snacks or they had it but not in 0.6 nicotine. So I bought some other flavor just because I was there, they charged me 33$ before taxes for three flavors when ive usually been charged 33 with tax, both vapecities ive been to, I mean cmon, 3 bucks? What a jip. They didn't even bother to ask if I had the five star rewards until I mentioned it. Seems like they just have the business to hang out and vape. Ive been to the one on diversey and man they take care of you over there. Go there instead. This place is great. It's hard to find a good vape shop and i was in passing when i saw them and stopped in. When first walking in i was a little disappointed by how stripped down it looked but i was pleasantly wrong with my initial thoughts. The staff is super chill and very friendly. I needed a new chord for charging and the man just gave me an extra one he had lying around. Most places would charge $20 or talk you into buying a whole new set up. When I walked in there was a bunch of guys sitting at the table and one girl behind the counter who seemed as clueless about my being there as the rest of the crew. She did take care of me (slowly) but when a line formed there seemed to be a lack acknowledgment on their part as well especially when the girl's friend arrived and she still held a conversation with her over her customers head! It was quite laughable at that point. The 3 stars was given for the excellent e-juices they had. They should take lessons from their Chicago store! That is the place to visit!!! I don't use the typical abbreviated "LOL's" often, but LOL! What a joke of a business. From the filthy front windows covered in everyone's breath and VG to the late night Asian Spa ambience, this place may be one of the first vape shops during the boom but certainly isn't near the best - by presentation, variety, or price. I walked in and was greeted with the typical "What's Up" because everyone is treated like a Vape enthusiasts (right) when you walk through the door. No, I'm an ex-smoker who enjoys vaping and was looking to get some juice while in the area. Not a chance in hell from here. One guy, apparently the manager on staff, was filling "House Juice" from bulk into empty 30ml glass bottles on the front counter. I must have missed the ISO Certified Cleanroom Lab sign in the front because it's masked by the obvious inability to clean windows. I was told that most juices are zero nicotine because they add it after the purchase. Oh, so you alter the product to further prove to the Legislation that we can't do business right. Don't get me started on the tall tubby kid behind the counter doing vape tricks because supposedly he's a sponsored "cloud competitor" in the local community. Lol, ok. You mean he lives with his parents and reverses his hourly wages from the shop, back into the shop, buying the latest and greatest hardware to inherit the coveted Vape Shop Douche role. Got it. Overpriced gear and terrible experience from the jump. Save your money and buy online. Oh, and if you want to play that support local business bs, then do the following : 1. Legitimize you business by showing you can put up the money to check all the FDA boxes to register as a manufacturer. 2. Ditch the loop holes to evade County taxes. You don't think liquor and tobacco retailers have had it easy for all these years? Little seven owner shops who don't have the collective capital to pay up product taxes show that you don't have a sustainable plan. 3. Clean the place up from the staff to the facility. The children that run this store have no sense of business, just sit there vaping , don't greet customers, and sell used/broken equipment. Had multiple people build me coils and they all were way too high of an impedance (didn't even check it made me do it when I got home), shorted out, and have had to replace my battery because they sold me a defective charger. Absolutely the worst Vape shop I've ever walked in to. The selection is less than mediocre, the pricing is well above average, and to top it off they have the worst service I've ever experienced. The employee who was working there on the day I stopped in not only didn't acknowledge me and my friend, he had the worst attitude when we attempted to seek information on anything in the store. He had the worst attitude I've ever seen in a Vape Shop PERIOD! Every question I asked was replied with an arrogant response. Even when I was about to purchase a few things and when asking another question he continued with the poor service and attitude and when I had finally had enough and asked him "is this how you treat all your customers", his reply was "yeah, pretty much". That was the last straw and I told him to put back everything I was about to buy. It wasn't much, maybe around $100, but when you're the only customer in the entire store and you receive that level of service he might want to try and rethink his approach. Like I mentioned, very poor experience, very bad selection, prices were over the top, and extremely bad service.
