I had a job done at a different dealer recently, and I wish I'd gone to Newport instead - the difference was night and day (a better job at a better rate). I'm not sure why there are all these bad reviews from years ago, but it's great now under the new GM. Next time I need service on any of my vehicles, Newport is absolutely worth the hour drive, even if it means passing several closer dealers. Highly recommend!

I had to have my windshield replaced so I brought my car back to Gerry's to get an inspection sticker in February the next month my break light came on.. Brought it to another garage and found out that it should have never been on the road and that it needed about $1900 worth of work done to it to pass inspection.. I called the state inspection officer he came out to check out the car and well all I can say is Gerry's got a visit and my car was fixed.. Gerry himself got up in my face when I dropped my car off and wasn't so nice.. So please be careful when buying from this place!

Wish I could give zero stars. Waste of time and money. After charging me $115 for a simple…read morediagnosis of a failed A/C compressor, they proceeded to tell me that in order for the warranty to be valid on a new compressor, they would also have to replace the condenser and a bunch of other parts which were not broken, all for a total of over $1900. I never heard of such a requirement for a "warranty". I asked them for other choices, such as replacing the compressor only and forget the warranty, or install a second-hand compressor. I also asked if the $115 diagnostic charge would be applied as a credit on the final bill. I don't think that was well received. The attendant said she would have to ask the mechanic and get back to me. She never called me back. I guess they figured I was not going to be a pushover customer, so they decided to run with my $115. Meanwhile I got a dealer quote to replace the compressor with an EOM part and warranty for $1300. A mechanic friend of mine advised that I go with the dealer, since private shops often use overpriced after market parts anyway. I never found an auto repair shop that charges more than a dealer, but this is it. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS.
