Edit 1: Vasa is a low-trust organization, and that's why you shouldn't utilize their services. I'll explain more below. OG Review: The gym was nice, but the billing practices are predatory. Expect hidden fees upon sign up, and expect more hidden fees upon cancelation (plus a difficult cancelation process.) Make sure to get email verification from VASA that you canceled. Honestly thought the gym was nice, but the billing put a bad taste in my mouth. I probably won't be back. I'd be more likely to come back if they would just be straightforward about billing. In fact, I'd probably be willing to pay more per month if I didn't have to worry about hidden fees. I'll probably go to the local rec center instead. Always SUPER crowded at the AF location. Very few members wipe down machines after use or rerack weights so it can be pretty gross. It's a challenge to work out at this gym because there's always a wait for equipment and you have to go on a scavenger hunt for plates because they're scattered around everywhere. High school kids will triple up on machines so it takes them 45 minutes to complete their sets and its just accepted as the norm. The employees who aren't in training sessions just stand around rather than helping keep the gym in good condition for the members. I haven't had any payment issues like others who have reviewed on this site but I'd still avoid this gym unless you have no other alternative. read more

Attended a senior aqua fitness class 3 weeks ago. I thought a black worm was on the water surface. Turns out dirt and lint from both overhead hvac vents were installed over both pool ends. The Lehi location is a nice gym with good equipment but it is VERY crowded unless you go at 5:00 AM or in the afternoon. Before you join, make sure you read the contract very carefully - they stick a bunch of hidden fees in the small print and hope you don't notice. read more

I came here because I was close by and was in need of some nice steam room/ sauna time! The gym was clean, staff was nice.

After leaving my last gym I decided to join Vasa, mainly because it was the only gym near my house and it's convenient as I work from home and go to school in Lehi. That and the low monthly cost were a big selling point, specifically the $9.99 base plan. However, what they don't tell you is that this plan comes with a down payment, so unless you join during some special promotional period you'll be paying about $90+ to sign up. They then use this as a way to talk you into signing up for the more expensive memberships, as those don't require a down payment to sign up. All plans also come with a quarterly "Rate Guarantee Fee" of $49.99. The gym itself is decently sized with lots of amenities. It's a VERY crowded environment, while I won't fault Vasa for having a successful business, if you're someone who doesn't like packed environments, this isn't the place for you. A lot of the machines are dirty and don't appear to have been cleaned in a long time. I attached a photo of what that looks like, a good amount of the cardio machines look just like this. After just over a month I was able to get added to a family member's gym plan, so I no longer needed a vasa membership. I was expecting some sort of cancellation fee, but the process to cancel was less than convenient. I went to the front desk to cancel in person, and the gentleman who worked there(super nice guy) let me know I needed to call account services to cancel. I called the number the following morning, and it transfers you to a 3rd party billing agency who is contracted by vasa. The wait times to get a hold of someone were long and required me to call back the next day and give them my number to hold my spot in the queue. If you're just looking for a quick workout and don't mind any of the stuff listed above, then this is a good pick for a gym. Otherwise, I would not recommend it. read more

DISHONEST business! Read very carefully the membership agreement because you will pay a lot! I signed up for 3 months of fitness class. At the end of the 3 months, they automatic renew it, in order to cancel I had to pay for the whole next term (3 months) because according to their terms "I didn't cancel before the renewal, so I'm already enrolled for 3 more months". Be aware, even if you sign for only 3 months, they will continue to charge you unlimited. Also, my regular membership is for 1 year, they also charged me the remaining months to cancel the membership before 1 year! I paid just to get rid of them forever! Absolutely dog water. The place is so smelly and I know you're thinking "it's a gym" but I mean stinky like someone went pee on the floors and no one bothered to clean it up. This is the closest vasa to me and I drive 20 mins to the Orem vasa just instead just because this one is so bad. The equipment is terribly old and not in a cool iron garage way. Avoid any VASA at all cost.. I read these comments before and still made the dumb decision of signing up with them. Unbelievable amount of hidden fees.. i am over $100 in and I've only had an account for 3 months(just to give ya a clue) super unnecessary Billings, they lie about how much it is & take your money out if your account whenever they feel, they don't have a set rate none of my months of been the exact same charge. They changed my home gym location without asking me and now want $25 to change it back .. it's absolutely absurd how unprofessional they are when getting you signed up and how much the neglect to tell you important information. STAY FAR FAR AWAY. Much more worth paying $20 a month for a gym you know will be on your side not just after your money. Totally bummed out on this place really pathetic. Vasa gets a lot of hate but it really isn't bad. The worst is just the overcrowding and trying to figure out a time in my busy schedule I can come when there's less people. But hey it's a popular public gym I think that's just how it is. Everyone there that's working out has been nice and friendly which is a huge plus to me. One downside is sometimes they try to push getting you a trainer which I get they're sales people at heart but having to say no 3 times puts me off a bit. I got a notification recently about Vasa sending my account to "collections" thus impacting negatively on my credit score. I called Vasa to try and understand why this happened and they admitted that my account was always paid off and they cannot see why the account was sent to collections. Not to mention this apparently took place in 2019. Be careful in setting up an account and make sure to understand their business dealing before signing up. read more

Their employee who manages the day care reported us to CPS with false allegations which started a two week long process of dealing with the agency. Of course, their investigation turned up no results and was dismissed because nothing was true. Someone like this should NOT be working around children and should be terminated as soon as possible. From what I've heard from their employees she talks about calling CPS on people all the time and has done so on several occasions. I will also be filing official complaints with corporate VASA to ensure the safety of children and other families from facing similar issues due to her actions. Have done nothing. And if you think you're safe with the cameras... they don't work! All employees spoken to regarding this issue have stated that corporate does not care about their customers. Love this gym except how dirty the sauna is :( I really believe they need to power wash it at least once a week. Or even give the whole sauna a new re due. They just put new lights in and you feel like you're in an interrogation room, it's so bright. Now that it's so bright you can see every little piece of dirt and wow it's gross. I have never had such a poor experience with a company. Most companies are going above and beyond to take care of customers during this pandemic. I have a compromised immune system and can't go to the gym. They refuse to work with me on freezing or canceling the account without charging me. They continue to charge me to freeze my account and do not enforce any health guidelines to keep their patrons safe. They didn't ask permission to charge my account to freeze it as well as charged my wife for the monthly membership dues right before charging us again to freeze it. read more

Parking is limited, we asked if it's full if we could park in a certain spot because of the large vehicle we have. Parked there for three months off an on with no issue then there was a change in staff and first night they didn't even do an overhead announcement asking anyone to move their vehicle didn't say anything as we walked out - they had called the tow truck apparently right AFTER we had walked in per the tow truck driver. ABSOLUTELY horrible customer service when we went up and asked for the information on who to call and they acted like they had no idea until we told them to just give us the information then the one girl of the only two girls (and employees) working wrote down the information for us. Cost us $400 to pick up our truck and it will cost VASA our and our family's business as well as the people we train there. read more

AF Vasa is Terribly run. They keep dropping the best classes and the best instructiors. The bathrooms are rarely stocked with toilet paper and soap. I've gone to other Vasa locations and they are much better. This location needs an overhaul and they need to fire their management. read more

I paused my account the first week of January for three months with 0 balance. I paused at this time because they simply could not get the dry sauna working(when it was working it smelt like cat piss and the showers are moldy and smell like wet dog as well). This went on for months before I paused my account. During that three months the gym closed for covid19. I tried today to cancel today and somehow had a $60 balance. I called support and left it on speaker as I did some work. After 3 hours on hold I decided to just pay the $60 and be done with this joke of a company. Guess what? They charged my card and I got no confirmation of cancellation or receipt of my payment. I guess somethings never change. This place is horrible. I visited the American Fork club on a Friday September 1st at around 4:30-5:00 pm, usually front desk is super welcoming and nice. This guy was nice at first after I scanned and then my 2 brothers scanned in. The names and barcodes on their apps are different. He stopped us and claimed they were the same which I'm sure on his computer they were. The memberships are under Intermountain healthcare which a family member works for. I'm not sure how all that works, but they do individually pay for their own membership. Instantly he got defensive accusing us of using the same memberships. We explained to him, showing the app with different names, barcodes, and photos. We told him we have visited the club multiple times, and he explained that the reason we had never been stopped, was because the other associates don't pay attention as much as him. He still insisted we were using the same membership. We kept scanning knowing they were different memberships but he kept accusing. He began helping another member and told us to stay put because he "needed to have a word with us." After helping another member, while there was another associate right next to him who was completely capable of taking care of the other customers, he finally scanned our memberships and read the barcode number aloud which proved they were different memberships. After that, he told us we needed to get our names changed without informing us on how to change the names because on our apps the names and barcodes were different. We then began walking into the gym and as we continued on, he said no need to throw attitude. I got frustrated and told him to take his own advice. I don't normally like to confront people but the way he dealt with the situation rubbed me wrong. My little brother asked why we were in trouble for his mistake, and he told us he did nothing wrong. I did get defensive as I felt he was rude and dealing with the situation in a completely wrong way. He inserted that he is a "general manager" and acted as though we didn't know what we were talking about. I am a manager at the ritz Carlton, dealing with high clientele from all around the world. I have attended multiple trainings in which our organization is known for and have trained teams from Nissan, Apple, and multiple very known brands. I feel I am very well trained in the customer service industry and would never speak to a lady or gentleman in his manner ever. I've been a member for the last 2 months and the leg extension machine has been broken since i started coming. They do not have enough machines for the amount of people that come to this gym. Vasa is a popular and easy to access gym. They have platforms, classes, basketball courts, a pool and most other things you might want in a gym. The problem with vasa is that it's dirty, crowded and filled with low quality or worn down equipment. This might not bother some, which is great, but if you mind those things stop reading and find a better gym. I am a student on clinical rotation so I'm only around for 3 months and after paying around $75 for my membership, vasa charges $110 for me to end my membership. If you plan to stay for at least a year (there is a large annual fee to secure the membership cost you pay) and don't mind the crowding or cleanliness then vasa is a decent gym for you but not for anybody else. read more

This location has more amenities than many of the other Vasa locations. They've got steam room, sauna, pool, basketball, racquetball, cinema room, tanning, hydro massage beds, and far more equipment than other locations because of size. I think only Orem may compare in size. read more
