I've always gone to a different Planet Fitness, but was in the area after an appointment so I decided to try the Orem location. The main thing I wanted to do was use the Total Body Enhancement (I am a black card member), but theirs was out of service due to some "computer issue" that affected all their black card member services. I decided to work out anyway, since I was there. They don't have lockers with built in locks, like my home PF location has; I can't take a chance with my valuables, so I inquired with the staff member at the front as to whether I was missing where some lockers that lock were located. I was told there weren't any, but he could sell me a lock. I debated for a while whether I wanted this expense for what would likely be a single usage, and ultimately decided to buy it (I would at least own the lock, which I may use again elsewhere). I opened the lock to discover that it was not a normal Master padlock as it appeared to be, but some very cheap version that I would never trust to protect my valuables. While still figuring out how cheap it was, I tried to peal the sticker with the combination off the back and it would not come off. I decided to get a refund and leave without working out. The staff member who sold me the lock moments before told me he could not give me a refund because I opened it. I convinced him that it was the only fair thing to do, but then he was unable to give me the refund because his manager didn't enable that functionality for him and the manager was not there. He refused to give me his name. Another employee arrived at that point and told me the same thing, but he was very sympathetic and eager to solve the problem. I left the "lock" there. He would get my refund and contact me with the outcome. He took responsibility and was happy to give me his name. The next day, I received a call from someone else who told me it was against corporate policy to give refunds on opened items and if I wanted to complain, she could give me a phone number. She didn't care anything about the reasons, just "that's the policy". Up until this point in my membership, I had been very happy in every way with everything. But the membership costs a lot, and I planned to pay it every month for the rest of my life. Now I'm researching other options. read more

Disappointed in the manager. The drinking fountain has needed the filter changed for 5 months. They put a sticker over the red light to cover the filter status notification. Then the other drinking fountain is broken and the sensor doesn't recognize a bottle. It may not seem like a big deal but I brought it up to the staff and they told me the manager has been made aware but still hasn't done anything. That was three weeks ago and they still haven't done anything. The same equipment breaks a lot and will be down for days. It's clean for the most part. Some of the cup holders on machines could use a clean once a month and the bathroom needs more regular attention but the staff are friendly. I'm still thinking of switching to Eos to get more for my money. My only hold back is this location is closer to my house. UPDATE: the drinking fountains are still broken. I don't know why the business manager would reach out asking me to email them with more information. I already gave all the information. Take action and fix your equipment. read more

5/7/25 at 7 pm I told the employee that there is a girl sitting on the floor u see the smith machine on her phone for the last 15 min that I seen and all other machines are taken. I asked him if he could help. He said no we are not allowed to ask people to move off of machines. I said I understand that but she is on her phone not using the machine. He refused to help me and allowed her to occupy the machine while not using it! Unbelievable! read more

Clean, good equipment, lots of extras. This gym isn't for the major squat or dead lifters but more for people who want to stay in shape and bulk up a little while enjoying a safe and inviting atmosphere. Lots of machines and cardio equipment. A smaller free weight area but sufficient for most gym goers. read more

One of my favorite planet fitness locations. The staff members are kind and greet you/ tell you to have a great day when you leave and I always appreciate it when they do that. The gym is clean, and obviously well kept. The view of the mountains from the free weights section is incredible. I do wish the free weight section was bigger/ had more benches, but I feel like that's always the case with every PF location. read more

Extremely friendly workers and great customer service. The fact that you don't have to wear a mask isn't a bad thing. No one wears one when they are working out anyways. Another poor customer experience. Drove here from Saratoga Springs to use the Total Body Enhancement machine for the first time (in almost year of being a member), and the staff couldn't be bothered to explain the controls. All I got was about 8-minutes of low-level tanning, and 12-minutes of hitting buttons to make the vibration function work - for a whole 30-seconds. The machine promptly cuts off with almost three minutes left in your session. So unhappy with this gym. This is why I chose S. Jordan as my home gym, and will be switching my wife's gym after the bullshit 90-day "waiting period". The Orem gym doesn't deserve any of my $$$. Period. read more

Don't go here. Unless you are already thin. Was treated very differently from my thin "in shape" friend. She was offered a tour of the facility and basically was treated like a VIP. She was my guest on my paid for black card membership. When I had arrived 20 minutes before her to purchase the membership, I was barley spoken too by the worker who was very fit. He rolled his eyes when I said I wanted the black card he said "are you sure" I felt very unsafe in an already uncomfortable situation being at a public gym. I am not morbidly obese. I'm only 200lbs. The few months that I went here, religiously, gym goers laughed and pointed at me. My friend always wanted to say something but I didn't want her too. This was my experience. If you are out there really trying to be healthy and making those very hard life style changes I wouldn't recommend going here. read more

It's a fantastic gym. They don't try to shove extra packages down your throat like VASA. In fact, almost everything that VASA wants you to pay extra for is inlcuded in the black card membership. planet fitness is my favorite gym I've ever joined. if you're thinking about signing up for a vasa membership- I highly suggest that you rethink that because most locations are over crowded, have run down equipment, & have the WORST cancellation policies of all time. I cancelled my vasa membership in december of 2016 since my apartment at the time had a gym. I didn't love the place, but there are vasas everywhere so it was easy to find one without driving too far. I got married in may of 2017 & moved to cedar hills, and suddenly I had no gym, or membership, & had all of the sudden gained 30 lbs. I was desperate to start loosing weight, I knew I had to get another gym membership but did not want to go to the american fork vasa- there's too many basic locals from my old high school hanging around there & I would have been devastated if they saw my fat ass had gained weight. I went out on a whim & decided to try out PF, even though it was further away from my house. I went online & found a code that could get me a free workout, so I used it & signed up for a membership before I left the building, that was back in march 2018. almost a year later, I'm happy to report that this location is never crowded, they got a makeover last fall so now all the equipment is up to date, you don't have to worry about gym bros or snarky girls, everyone there (staff included) is chill & the focus for everyone is purely working out, not intimidating others or trying to secure their next date (which surprised me since it's so close to BYU territory lol). anyways... if you've made it this far, just know that you should join PF instead of anywhere else! read more

Love this gym. Always machines available, it's clean and there's tons of variety as far as weights. If you get the $20 a month plan you can enjoy the extras like the Hydro Massage (personal favorite), massage chair, tanning beds ( no thank you) and there's one other machine that uses lights (can't remember exactly what type to help with muscles and skin). Staff is friendly for the most part and the environment is chill, not too many gym bunnies bouncing around :) read more

Best. Gym. Ever. Newer machines, super-clean facilities, friendly staff. But the best part is the judgement-free zone philosophy. Signs throughout the gym promote acceptance of everyone, regardless of fitness level or body shape. The staff are equally accepting. I pay just $15 a month for all this. What a bargain! The only thing I would change is this: the staff turn off the TVs 10 minutes before closing, so if Im working out late, I miss the last 10 minutes of my favorite show. I am traveling and still wanted to work out. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Recently remodeled and super clean. My only complaint is that the showers are way to small and there were no benches in the private changing areas. I nearly fell trying to change. This PF did have several pieces of work out equipment that my home gym does not have, so I am a bit jealous. read more

I just had the worst experience with their customer service! I was charged $41.00 this month when usually I am charged $17.00 a month. I called to inquire why this month was so high and the girl on the phone (who already sounded irritated right when she answered) informed me they have a annual charge that always occurs on June 1st even if you are a month to month client. I was planning on canceling my membership anyway, so I asked if I were to cancel today if the fee could be removed. She said no, and was VERY condescending and rude. I will definitely be canceling my membership due to the customer service. read more

This gym is "OK" but the staff behind the desk is clueless when ever you ask a question. Janitorial service seems to be non-existent. Here is a complaint that should shut the place down: A toilet in the men's locker room has been plugged up for over two weeks straight. Feces in and on the floor. I asked the front staff three times. Only once did they make a note of it. Locker room filled with tissue and paper towels all over the floor. Half empty water bottles staying in the same place for days on end. If this isn't fixed soon I will be adding pictures. read more

Very clean and basic gym. No frills- just good quality equipment and good people who are there to work on themselves. I'm an out of towner from California and didn't think the hotel gym would suffice. Not a lot of free weights, mostly machines and only smith machines which I was a little bummed about, but it's still good. Lot's of space to do your own workout. Awesome fitness stations for a "Quick 30 minute workout" and "12 minute abs and stretching". Locker rooms- so clean and stocked. Overall, if you're new to working out and/ or you don't like being around a lot of obnoxious meatheads- this is a really good place for you. Don't go to Vasa- it's gross and too crowded. read more

This is the best gym I've ever had a membership to! I've had memberships at 24 hour, Vasa and a community center. This has them all beat! It's clean, tons of equipment including TRX and inexpensive compared to everywhere else!! I work out here easily 6 days a week, and love it. The staff is always engaging and friendly, while the gym itself isn't ever really crowded. It's a clean facility and the equipment is usually available. They're supposed to be updating all the equipment shortly, and that will really help add to the appeal. I recognize a lot of the people I workout around, and they're always smiling and friendly as well. It's a very comfortable and safe gym, so if you're looking for a spot that isn't intimidating, this is your spot. read more

They are a very simple, clean and adequate gym. The staff has been helpful, professional and friendly. The equipment is in very good condition and there are enough individual machines and enough variety to handle working out any muscle groups I choose. The tanning booths and massage options have been great the money saved in tanning alone pays for the gym itself as I've been able to cut out having to go to a separate tanning salon all together. My final thought is I've enjoyed the environment I have not had to wait in machines while people talk and haven't had to navigate around people who are at the gym to be seen over working out. The whole meat market and or environment for men to ogle women that is particularly bad at the Vasa gyms in Utah County. All in all it's simply a nice gym that's comfortable and fulfilled all of a persons workout needs without the crowding or frustration of a dating app added in. Only things I miss from Vasa having moved to Planet Fitness are the basketball court and lap pool but as I've said I feel the tanning offsets that. read more

They keep the place always clean and new. I hated going to Golds they never took care of anything. I've updated my review. It was terrible but after some frustration I spoke with a Tammy from their billing department and was able to have my issue resolved as well as some extra for the inconvenience. It is appreciated that they did this. So I do enjoy this gym. It is low key and clean with everything you need. The staff is courteous and the area always looks nice. I took away a star because the one thing that i'm still bitter about is the way I was treated by the manager while I was trying to dispute an issue. She did not fully understand the situation which was understandable. But the cold shoulder I received was not. But all in all, I do like this gym. read more

Thinking about getting a planet fitness membership? DON'T DO IT! Exercise your way out of its door. They WILL screw you over with zero remorse. THIS IS YOUR WARNING. I have had a membership here for nearly two years and have never made my payment late. The gym is fine for what I need, but last month I asked a Planet Fitness employee when I needed to cancel my membership to not be charged for January. He told me that I needed to cancel is by the 17th. I immediately put a note and reminder in my phone. This morning I called to see if I could cancel both mine and my husbands when I came in today and she said yes, but said I would still be charged for January, even though I was told I could cancel by the 17th and not be charged for January. Rather than hearing me out, she degraded me and said that one of her employees would never make that mistake, when in fact, he did. She said it was too late because the payment was being processed, so I suggested a refund and she refused. She was the manager and treated me so poorly. I will never recommend Planet Fitness. TERRIBLE customer service, especially from a manager. read more

DO NOT JOIN if you ever plan to cancel your membership. My wife had a membership and cancelled so we thought over a year ago. Unfortunately for us we didn't check our credit card statement close enough. Turns out that we have been paying for a membership for more then a year that we have been using. Not sure how they managed to go through at least one credit card number change. On the 2nd number change they started to send us bills saying that we where behind. When we tried calling them on this, they would not return our calls, and you can't cancel your membership if you owe money so they kept billing us while we tried to figure out what was going on (2 more months). Even though they could see that she hadn't used the Gym in over a year they still demand the past due before they would let us cancel and we still had to pay for the next month because it was "past" the magical day. They claimed of returned our calls, but if they did they didn't leave any voice mails as those are emailed to us so we would have record or those. So be aware their cancellation practice is as difficult as possible to make sure they can sucker you for all they can. Must be done in person at the store, etc. Again even though they could clearly see my wife hadn't used the gym in over a year we still had to become current to cancel in person and pay an extra month.
