We visited Hyderabad House and had their lunch specials. The restaurant was nearly empty but that's ok as long as the food is fresh, and the food was incredibly fresh for us. However, my biggest complaint was that the rice was too spicy, they had chopped green chilies in it and I wish they hard warned us about that. I would have just ordered the paratha rolls if I knew the rice would be that spicy. The restaurant is decorated nicely and everything is so clean. I would like to come back for dinner when there's more of a vibe in the restaurant and it's full. There are many options now on Roosevelt Road and I hope this place stays as a nice sit down restaurant. read more

Last week I went to Hyderabad House in Villa Park, since my earlier experiences were very good. However this time the Tea was OK, though did not like that it was sugar added, but the veggie pakora were disappointing - that quality has definitely degraded. The beef Haleem was OK, but they have decreased the quantity quite a bit. The chicken Paratha roll was average. They definitely need to improve their quality. The service is always good, makes you feel Like you are home. The place clean, good, but lacks the vibe. Overall, they need to gear up their food flavor and quality, soon. read more

Ordered the following items via takeout from this restaurant today: - 1 Mutton Biryani - 1 Paneer Salaan w/ Naan - 1 Mango Cream Fruit Custard Overall taste is pretty solid for the Biryani and the Paneer Dish but the dessert was a little too sweet and I think it would have been way better if it has cake in it. We came here on a Friday for an early lunch. We ordered the vegetable samosas which tasted like they were old and the restaurant just reheated them. We also ordered the mix kebab platter which wasn't as terrible as the samosas, but nothing to brag about. This also tasted like it was pre-made and they reheated it. The Naans tasted fresh. The chai was ok. There was 1 waiter taking everyone's orders, and manning the cash register in the front. They need to work on the food tasting fresher and having more wait staff. read more

Went there last evening with a friend to have tea. Since last time the vegetable Pokhara's were excellent, ordered the same - but slightly disappointed, as they were too oily, may be it was reused oil, did not taste as good as last time. Tea was good, but had a little extra Cinnamon. Ordered the chicken Boti grill - this was excellent, quality has been maintained. Ambiance is same. Service and attention given was very professional. On the whole will go there again, but will give instructions on what and how to make, so that it could be a more enjoyable experience. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time tonight with friends and it was fantastic. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We chose outdoor as they had heaters and it was a cute setup. The food was delicious, I had the beef fry and it was spiced perfectly. The paratha it came with was really good too, as was the chicken biryani and chicken masala. We got our food pretty quickly considering we had a large group. Overall it was a great experience and I look forward to returning! read more

This was our second time coming here and both times the food was both consistent and amazing. We had the beef samosas appetizer with the dahi chaat. The flavor of both the appetizers was perfect, including the chutneys and various dahi puri toppings. For the main entre we shared an order of the butter chicken, chicken biryani (which also came with a small raita and mirch ki salan), and 2 butter naans. It was a perfect amount for me and my husband and our 5yr old. We ended the meal with some awesome Irani chai. Although it's a 40ish minute drive from home, we'll definitely be coming back. We have come to Hyderabad house multiple times at their other locations. It was an incredibly disappointing experience in Hyderabad house, villa park. From the get go we do have small kids so wanted to have a seat in a booth so kids can't wiggle from their chairs. They argued against us sitting (even though it was all in the same empty room). After that... a soon as we were seated, the wait staff began to ignore us. They did not offer water. They did not bring drinks together. They did not bring napkins. They did not bring clean plates. To make the situation worse, when we raised this to their owners, they redirected on us saying we had kids jumping on the chairs. The kids did not. It was incredibly frustrating to have spent so much money to eat there for us to have been treated this way. Not only did the manager refuse to acknowledge the poor service- he allowed his staff to continue to be rude to the point of abusive. Because we had small kids, we didn't walk out. We have never never been treated so disrespectfully at any other location or any other restaurant for that matter. Food is just mediocre- beef fry more oil than beef. Mutton biryani was not properly cooked. The mutton was raw in places. Mango lassi tasted spoiled. Dum chicken ok. Save your money and run from the place. read more
