Urgent Patient Safety Warning: Missed Blood Clot and Dismissive Care - Dr. Mehta, Prescott…read more I am writing to share a life-threatening experience regarding my treatment under Dr. Mehta, which resulted in a dangerous two-week delay in diagnosing a blood clot. Two days after my second treatment, I experienced extreme swelling in my foot. Although I contacted his nurse immediately with a photo, I received no response for five hours. When she did reply, she assured me this was "not unusual," leading me to skip a necessary ER visit. Five days later, Dr. Mehta called me while on vacation; he was dismissive, minimized my concerns and spoke to me in a condescending manner. Another 5 days later, I returned for a third appointment. Despite the persistent swelling, Dr. Mehta refused to provide a clinical recommendation, stating the decision to proceed was mine alone. As I chose to leave, he "defied" me to find another practice with standards as high as his. I sought a second opinion from Dr. Simon at The Vein Center (Dignity Health YRMC). They were so concerned by my history that they expedited my appointment. An ultrasound immediately revealed a blood clot (DVT). I was placed on urgent blood thinners that same day to prevent a heart attack or stroke--care I had been denied for nearly two weeks due to Dr. Mehta's dismissive attitude and lack of clinical guidance. I strongly urge prospective patients to consider the risks of a practice that minimizes serious physical complications. In my opinion, Dr. Simon's team likely saved my life; Dr. Mehta's dismissal nearly cost me it.

Professional, friendly staff! Made sure to make sure I understood the procedure. Great experience!read more

I'm 41 and started experiencing extreme fatigue/tiredness that did not resolve after 4-6 weeks. It was so bad it was interfering with my career and day-to-day activities. I have no major health issues so after some research, I reached out to my PCP, a therapist for possible depression, and the NP at Scottsdale Skin & Hollistic Health to explore IV therapy or HRT for possible peri-menopause/hormone imbalance. Side Note: I had recently started taking Effexor for anxiety and despite fatigue being a possible side effect, I did not attribute my fatigue to the Effexor given how extreme my fatigue was. I had trialed Lexapro for anxiety about 1-1.5 years prior and stopped taking it after about 6 months due to some very mild fatigue and an insatiable appetite. My current level of fatigue was so far beyond what I experienced while taking Lexapro that the Effexor didn't even cross my mind as a possible cause. Met with the NP at Scottsdale Skin & Hollistic Health on 11.28.25. Explained what I was experiencing and what I wanted to explore as possible solutions. She asked me all the questions you'd expect to be asked. A little more than 1/2 way through the consult she legit asks me "what are you expecting to get out of this meeting?". What?!? and then proceeds to tell me to stop eating carbs during the day to see if that helps. At the end of the consult she orders some bloodwork. At no point did she tell me that I needed to be fasted. Her assistant told me to text her when I had I gotten my blood drawn at a nearby lab and she would stay on top of them until my results were available. The lab near my house has the exact same hours as my work schedule and is not open on the weekends. I go during my lunch one day and wait over 30 minutes only to find out I need to be fasted. Finally make it back to the lab on 12.19 and have my blood drawn. 12.19.25: 1st text to SS&HH 12.26.25: 2nd text to SS&HH 01.07.26: 3rd text to SS&HH 01.07.26: Someone calls me apologetically and promises they won't forget about me and said they wrote my name on a giant sticky note 01.15.26: Nothing ... I did give them over an hours notice that I would be writing this review After speaking with my PCP, it turns out the Effexor was the culprit. I switched to taking it at 2:00pm and my daytime fatigue completely resolved AND I'm still eating all the yummy carbs I have been for years w/ 0 issues. I don't think they saw $$$$ from me as a potential client and wrote me off. UPDATE: Their office manager called me after I started posting reviews. I got a load of excuses. You were texting us during our busy season, we weren't staffed during the holidays, the NP has been out of the country, our system auto-prioritizes messages, and finally, the last time you text us was only a week ago. LOL! How many times can you tell someone they're not a priority?? At some point, she asked if there was anything they could do to resolve the issue. By then, the conversation had derailed a bit. I flippantly said they can return my $200.00 and then went on to explain that I did not need or want anything from their office. I wasn't being serious about the $200.00, but she assured me I was not getting my $200.00 back! Keep it!

For six months I have experienced numbness and tingling in my foot and the lower part of my left leg from these procedures. I remember exactly when it happened with my foot. The doctor was putting a hot wire close to my heel and I was an agony. She did it three more times. I suspect she damaged the nerve but told me it would go away. It hasn't. I don't know if it ever will. I regret it. Now I have to find somewhere else to actually finish the spider vein work. I am not comfortable going back to this business. I spent a lot of money and I'm not happy. They billed my insurance but neglected to tell me I had $2700 out-of-pocket co-pay after numerous procedures, plus $400 per session for spider veins and was told not to come back for three months. I wore compression stockings for months throughout the summer. It's not worth it. I'm not happy. I'm not sure what to do. I drove well over 1000 miles back-and-forth to the office two and three times a week.

The difference is indescribable. She and her staff are so accommodating and kind. It's taken me forever to write this because I wanted to get the words right and I still don't think I did . The assistant sees you first and gets all the basic info from you. Megan Ahmed, who is a Nurse Practioner, comes in later. The consultation is extremely thorough with photos and explanations and general info. She is not a dermatologist as some reviews incorrectly state, but she is obviously a brilliant lady. She suggested a different routine for the topical cream my present dermatologist has me on and a different blend of ingredients from the medical compounding business. I liked that theory but decided to stay with my dermatologist and his aesthetician because of the price. Megan charges for each type of treatment, which are pricey, and she is clear that she doesn't do "spa" type treatments such as firming masks or hydration masks. I'm not even sure if she does extractions. I get two or three different treatments from my present Aesthetician in one visit and at 1/4 of the cost. I get: dermaplaning (mainly for the peach-fuzz hair removal), laser hair removal touch-up (for chin and underarms) and healing or firming masks for MUCH less than the separate treatments from her. What she provides and what I need are two different things so I won't be using her services. But it cost $100 to find that out instead of questioning me briefly before making an appointment. Somehow I didn't understand that from the brochure or website either.
