I've come to this location a few times and I have to say that it's a very clean and fun atmosphere. The artists seem to have worked with eachother for years so they have a good dynamic together. Everyone there knows what they are doing and are willing to work with their customers to get exactly what they want done with appropriate constructive ideas when needed. After my first visit I went back a few other times so yes I would recommend this shop to anyone in the area in need of some new ink. read more

I had a simple line type tattoo done here 2 years ago. I did the design and they transferred it to the decal paper. I was leery about the "artist" that was to do it since he seemed young and maybe not too experienced. They don't tell you how long this person has been doing this so I didn't know. I figured he was hired so he must know what he's doing right? Maybe not. I should have asked. The guy behind the desk looked like he couldn't be bothered to greet a customer or be congenial. This tattooer started out placing the paper crooked so I had him straighten it which messed it up a bit. Ok well it happens, it was corrected. But when he got to the object part of the design he stated that he had to go a little bigger, which I didn't understand why since it was just lines to make the design then some color. I've seen it done before. Since I was on my back because of the arm location of this tattoo I couldn't see what he was doing. The end result was a size too big to go with the initial design. Also the outline was thicker than originally drawn and the placement was lower than originally drawn. Now it looks out of perspective and awkward. Even people who see it point this out. The sad part is it can't be fixed. If he were a true artist he would have recognized the issue. It also needed a thinner needle, there is some blurring with it. I've seen whole paragraphs written out in thin line script. I guess thats the difference between experienced and novice. FYI, Be aware of this when getting your tattoo. Know the artists work and keep checking the work as it's being done so you don't regret a novice job. read more

I started going here because my boyfriend followed his tattoo artist Dana here from another shop and I finally got tattooed by him and he is amazing. Dana is very friendly and listens to what you want. We have been going to him for years. The owner of the shop is very nice and so is the apprentice. They make you feel at home when you go get tattooed and they super funny. The prices are reasonable and they don't try to rip you off like some other shops. I would recommend paying in cash. read more

I was planning on getting my sleeve finished here since I just moved from Los Angeles. When I asked my artist, Richie, for a simple follow up appointment; he accused me of being high and leaving drugs in the bathroom. Obviously he was influenced by the older guys in the shop to speak up and say this, but just assuming and having the nerve to say to a customer that they left drugs in the bathroom and were incoherent because of some moron in the shops opinions is unprofessional. Richie's lines are shaky anyway. Go somewhere else. This place thinks they're "the shop" but really they're just straight trash. That goes both for their service and the quality of work produced here. read more

First of all, the shop is classy and immaculate. The entire staff was friendly and all seem to be very passionate about their work. I had a cover piece done by Frank, he was very responsive to all my inquiries leading up to my appointment, and was very patient during the drawing and design process, as I was insecure about how to fix what I'd had. He is an amazing artist, and really took his time. In the end, I have something I can feel really good about. I highly recommend Vatican, you will feel welcome and you will be in good hands. read more

This place is awesome! I was in town visiting a friend and lost a bet to get a tattoo. I wanted to get it while I was in town and I called and they just happened to have an opening. The atmosphere was great, all the artists were so fun and welcoming. I have lots of tattoos from many different shops but this was my favorite. Did an excellent job with a fine line and shading in some small spaces. Will definitely come back next time! read more

This is my first negative review ever. After more than 12 hours of work and 4 sessions on a tat on my shoulder Frank Luca was still not done. It was like he was trying to milk the tattoo for as many hours as possible without any respect for the time I have to put into it. After 3 sessions I went back for a 4th session which I had scheduled a month out, he still made me wait 1 hour just to start because he had someone elses tat he was finishing up, overlapped my appointment by an entire hour. On top of that the work that he ended up doing looked like something a 1st grader would do, literally, I am astonished. It was a simple task of fish scales, all fish scales, not even a fish, it was simple shading and somehow each scale looked different with different coloring I am going to have to go and pay a real artist 12 more hours to get the entire thing done right. I can't believe Frank Luca wasted 4 months of my life on this and over 1000$. On top of all this Frank was horrible to work with, he was rude when I had ideas and acted like it was somehow my fault he did such a horrible job. I asked him to redeem the work and gave him the option of trying to fix it, he said "go ahead write a bad review". In closing, I do not recommend Frank Luca, the rest of the staff seemed cool at least but after personal experience Frank Luca was horrible. read more

Let's start with saying I have been going to Jeff Kozan for years back when he had his first location off Oakland Park Blvd in Ft Lauderdale, I'm truly happy for his success because this is a man of great integrity. Delray Beach is blessed to have his artistic talent and the talent of his workers in their community. This man has a great eye for spotting great tattoo artist and this is the type of artistic people he employs. Jeff can turn a old unhappy tattoo into magic. This man has never made me feel uncomfortable when I came in to see him for a consultation he listens, this is a man who understands business and art and applies it to one customer at a time that's why he is a successful multi talented artist. Go see Jeff at either location if you are looking for a great tattoo artist that is not full of himself or jaded by his talent. This is permanent on my body and costing me thousands of dollars, I don't think knowing the size is too much to ask before committing to something like this. She said the quote was based on the referenced photos I provided. As you can see, they are COMPLETELY different sizes. When I asked for clarification she wouldn't give me any answer. I'm very upset because I was looking forward to getting tattooed by her, but this is just ridiculous. Then she texted me and said if im looking for a cheap tattoo that she's not the right person to go to.... I NEVER complained about the price once. I just wanted to know an idea on the size. I'm super disappointed in the way this was handled.

I should have reviewed her as an artist earlier because I could've prevented someone else from getting a shitty tattoo from someone who is masquerading as a capable artist.

Frank is an amazing artist who has been in this business for 13 years. He has done amazing work on me. He will always do what is best and will give you his PROFESSIONAL, honest opinion. What the last reviewer (James) failed to mention is that his tattoo was old and large and very dark. And that he caused a scene and didn't want to hear that certain things couldn't be done or take time. Excellent experience. The shop is very clean and everyone is very professional. I have been working with Frank Lucca on a sleeve tattoo and it has been nothing but positive. Not only is he very skilled in his work, but he has taken the time to understand my vision and bring it to life. He has worked with my schedule and been very accommodating. The proof image was placed on her arm and I approved it (I take full responsibility for trusting the tracer to do the right thing). That was my mistake that we have a daily reminder of. It remains to be seen if the real question of whether the tracer will take the assumed responsibility for the poor fate that was imposed upon her! It doesn't look bad (opposed to good) but , it's not even close to the image provided. If there was a reason to alter the image the tracer should have advised as such at the onset. Another lesson learned was I payed with ZELLE. If I would've paid by credit card I could've disputed the charge! Needless to say. We had an appointments to return today Sunday for additional work for myself as well as her as today October 29 is our together anniversary. What's done is done. Also to add insult to injury we or should a say she has to look at this everyday! NOTE- After close observation of actual work done by tracer Robert C. It looks NOTHING LIKE THE IMAGE PROVIDED. I feel shitty that I suggested the place and trusted the artist to trace the exact image provided! NOTE------ He made sure to seat me out of viewing range behind her so I couldn't see it while he was working! He screwed this up on purpose and got paid for it.
