I thoughly enjoyed my meal. This is a Black owned restaurant and the menu reflects this. If you've never had shrimp & grits, or catfish bites you need to stop by. At 4 pm on Sundays they offer their Soul Food menu and you can get mac & cheese, oxtails, turkey wings, and more. My friend and I went for brunch, but I will return for Soul Food Sunday, as the service was great. I also love the black & white decor. The outdoor seating area is very nice as well.

This is the Vault Cafe and Cabaret on Culver Road, Rochester, NY. A great brunch/lunch place!!

So after making a cash payment i asked for a receipt. Unfortunately Michelle didn't know how to print one.My response was," well with the cost of our bill i am sure the owner will remember us. I will call him in the morning." "No they aren't opened tomorrow", was the response. I am still trying to figure out with 3 people-$10 max per person should have been $30 NOT $97???????? Based on our previous visit I was guessing roughly maybe $40 at best~but $97? I am hoping the owner reads this and forwards a phone call my way. I know there must be some mistake.

The majority of the menu is Turkish, and they are using authentic ingredients either imported from Turkey, or from the region. Our food was yummy and very reminiscent of the breakfasts we enjoyed when we were traveling. First, this place is in a strip mall and may not be easy to spot; second it's small, and despite their efforts to jazz up the interior with themed seating areas, it has a very take-out sort of vibe; and third, there are other things on the menu that I'm guessing they offer because of their proximity to RIT, but take my word for it - stick with the Turkish items and you will not be disappointed! Our order included the 'sucuklu yumurta', which is basically eggs with Turkish sausages served in it's own metal pan, plus the bagel plate, and I had the 'tray' (the name of which I cannot remember) which came with hard boiled eggs, fruit, cheese, tea, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers and a roll. It was almost exactly the breakfast we had every morning in Turkey, except the fruit we had there was fresh and here it was a kind of preserve. The portions may seem a little small, but prices are very good, and I would definitely recommend getting more things than you think you need just so you can try more and ensure you will leave satisfied. We are looking forward to going back and eating more of the menu!

I am not sure what happened, but the menu we were given didn't have any of these cool, unique things on it. The place is pretty cool inside, with a lot of board games. There are video games too, but the Nintendo switch didn't seem to work. We ordered a cereal milkshake thing to start. It was okay. The blended cereal inside of it gave it an odd texture. My daughter asked for a Cinnabun, which is a Cinnamon Roll Waffle w/ Icing & Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It didn't have any Cinnamon Toast Crunch in or on it. I ordered a 2 Piece, which is a Cheese Stuffed Waffle Topped w/ 2 Pieces of Bacon & 2 Eggs. There was no cheese in it. I asked for poached eggs but they said they didn't know how to make them. I asked for over easy instead, but I don't think they knew how to make those either, because the yolks were hard and not runny. This place is a great and fun idea, but the food was executed poorly, and inaccurately. Even worse when it was 2 meals and a drink for one adult and one tiny child and it racked up to $40.

The taste of salt is the only think that hits you- when we were approached by the owner and/or manager, how are things, we politely shared our feedback, to which he only said "so in your opinion" and walked away... To be clear, we have been excited to try this place for a while. The one guy at the register was so helpful, so patient, so friendly. Seasoned tots was anything but seasoned.... The shrimp and grits was great for the first few bites as well. Ultimately it seemed as though someone incorrectly labeled the salt shaker in the kitchen and decided to drown everything in sodium.

Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences. We spent 2.5 hours total at the restaurant. After waiting an excessive amount of time, we watched two tables that arrived at least an hour after us receive their food first. When we politely asked if our ticket might have been missed, we were told those tables ordered before us, which simply wasn't true. We were then told the delay was because burgers take a long time but a nearly two-hour wait for a burger is pretty wild. It took about 25 minutes just for someone to take our drink order, and we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks. We had to flag staff down for everything. No ketchup, no hot sauce, nothing offered. The $30 mimosa flight served in tiny glasses also felt like a complete scam. When the food finally came, two people in our party were served 15-20 minutes before the other two, and the food was cold. One dish had completely raw eggs. When I let the server know I couldn't eat it, she came back and removed the meal from the bill, which was appreciated. However, the interaction itself felt tense and dismissive, which made an already frustrating experience worse. They did give us a round of breakfast shots to try to help pass the time which was appreciated. The food itself was disappointing overall. The breakfast burrito was basically all eggs with raw, bitter avocado, and my husband's burger was missing requested toppings. We also noticed food sitting in the service window while we continued waiting. The only person who was happy with their meal got the biggie fries an it was hot when it arrived. To make matters worse, the bathroom was unheated on an 18° day (feels like 2°) and not clean. We're a pretty chill, patient group and understand that kitchens get backed up but man, this experience completely missed the mark. Ironically, the cooks thanked us for our patience and servers said goodbye pleasantly on the way out. We honestly may have let a lot of this go if the service hadn't felt so dismissive when we calmly raised concerns.

Our server was excellent--welcoming, attentive, professional, and personable throughout the evening. We especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony, where the setting was calm and relaxing. Call ahead or hop on OpenTable, because walking in without a plan means you'll probably be waiting... and trust me, this place is worth the hype. From the moment we sat down, everything felt spot on. Our server, Ashley B, absolutely crushed it--attentive, friendly, and somehow always there exactly when we needed something without ever hovering. That kind of service really sets the tone. Food and drinks? Incredible. My husband went for the chicken and waffles paired with a whiskey sour--perfect balance of savory and sweet with a cocktail that hit just right. I had the Maggie with a classic mimosa, and it was brunch perfection. The vibe is another standout--quaint, cozy, and a little elevated since it's tucked inside the museum. It feels like a hidden gem but with a lively energy. And if you've got any room left (big if), they carry Cheesy Eddie's desserts... which is basically your sign to loosen that belt a notch and go for it. Already planning our next visit.
